Kurashi groaned at the mention of thatĀ particular joke alone. He still remembered how bad it was the first time Masaomi said it, though he did remember he laughed back then, not even out of pity, but because of how hard Masaomi was trying to come up with it.
āā¦Masaomi⦠I love you, but please go easy on puns. Youāre making dad jokes without even being a father. Come on.ā he chuckled, poking his husbandās side playfully.Ā
Ā Masaomi grinned widely, taking Kurashiās words lightly.Ā āHey now, donāt start telling me now that you donāt like my sense of humor. You had plenty of time to get away before you married me, so now youāre stuck with them.ā
Ā He poked the man right back, though on his nose. Then he placed a kiss where he poked.Ā āAnd thereās nothing you can do about it, so just sit back and enjoy the wonderful puns I come up with. You may be an artist of drawing, but I am an artist when it comes toĀ words, darling~.ā
-knocks on the door bending under a huge box of tiny heart-shaped chocolates-
Ā Masaomi opened his door, smiling when he saw Kurashi standing outside.Ā āWell, hello to you. What do we have here?ā he chimed, his grin widening as he saw the box of chocolates.Ā
Ā āI happen to have something for you, too. Hold on a second...ā He disappeared, then shortly returned with a small box of cookies.Ā āWe should eat these together!ā
"Want a kiss?" She has a backup plan if (for some reason) he says no. When does Navi leave the house without some kind of chocolate on her? Never. The answer is never.
Ā Masaomi blinked a few times at Navi, then smiled widely, with a bit of mischief in his eyes.
Ā Ā āA kiss from a beautiful girl? How could I ever turn down an offer so wonderful?ā
toudaimoto-kun:
āMasaomi, you literally said Iām completely naked under all these clothes. Thatās like⦠the lamest pick-up line ever. You only won me over because I was so confused about it I needed a clarification.āĀ
Kurashi laughed softly at his husbandās dramatic behaviour, finding it quite adorable in the way only Masaomi could make him think of. He leaned over to the side a bit, pressing a soft, quick kiss to the top of the blondās head, just because it felt so natural to kiss him right then.Ā
āNow, how about we go eat something? Iām quite hungry. Thereās this crepe place nearby⦠what do you think?ā
Ā Ā āYou can say whatever you want about how it happened, but I used a pick-up line on you when we first met and now Iām married to you. That sounds like a success to me,ā Masaomi remarked cheerfully.Ā
Ā When the idea of eating was brought up, the blond nodded almost vigorously.Ā āOh, definitely! I havenāt had something sweet in a whileābesides you, of course. Will you let me treat you this time? Iāll buy you a crepe, we can sit down in the park, Iāll charm you like always, and Iāll end up going home with you because Iām just that good.ā He decided to leave out that they lived together, and they would be going back to the same house no matter what happened on their date.
for @knightinyellow from here
Kurashi raised his eyebrow, snickering at his husbandās attempt to outsmart him and raised his hands in mock-surrender.
āVery well then; would you rather me saying: Donāt joke about death; I died once, and it offends me? I donāt see thatĀ much of a difference between the two, to be entirely honestā¦ā
Ā Masaomi wrinkled his nose at the reply. It really hadnāt been a strong argument, but he was so caught off guard that he wasnāt able to think of anything more wittyāat least, thatās what he thought to himself, to soothe his ego.Ā
Ā Ā āSo death jokes are off-limits now? I made that pun about hummuscide a month ago and you thought it was hilarious.ā More accurately, it had probably probably a laugh given out of pity for such a bad joke, but Masaomi didnāt see it that way.Ā āYouāre cutting out a big chunk of my comedic material, you know.ā
for @knightinyellow from here
āSilly. Itās not a skill that appeared all on its own, you know. Itās you rubbing off on me.āĀ
Kurashi chuckled, smiling at the warm feeling of having his husbandās hand wrapped around his own. The nights grew colder lately; but even so, he will gladly risk cold hands if it meant them being able to hold them during their walks.Ā
āBesides, to my defense, your pick up lines used to be so bad⦠Itās no wonder I couldnāt catch up on them.ā he teased, smirking lightly.
Ā Masaomiās grin shifted into somewhat of a proud smirk.Ā āWell, I do happen to be the master of flirting, you know. I can win anyone over with a few words and a sultry look.ā His expression softened as he looked over at his husband again.Ā āBut Iāve only had eyes for you for years now.ā
Ā The blond chuckled lightly at Kurashiās other comment.Ā āAh, you wound me,ā he replied, dramatically placing his free hand over his chest.Ā āAlthough, how bad can they really be if I won you over so quickly by using a line on you? Seems to me like theyāre actually great, and you just arenāt skilled enough in the art of pick-up lines.ā
me: thinks about you literally all day
Your hand looks heavy. Let me hold it for you.
Masaomi glanced over at his husband with a wide grin.Ā āHow sweet of you to offer, darling.ā He placed his hand in Kurashiās, interlocking their fingers. With a gentle nudge of his elbow, the blond continued to look around as they walked through the park.Ā
āI remember how you used to be so oblivious to me flirting with you. Now you can even come up with your own pick-up lines. Good thing I locked you down before you had the chance to charm someone else with your new skills, huh?ā
ā donāt joke about murder. i was murdered once and it offends me. ā [-slaps self- I COULD NOT STOP MYSELF OK XD]
Masaomi sighed, and opened his mouth to automatically refute the comment, only to close his mouth right away and give his husband a dumbfounded look. In fact, Kurashi had died once and come back to life, by a turn of unexplainable events that Masaomi avoided thinking about, lest his head explode from the irrationality. He stared silently at the man for a few moments, trying to think of a good comeback, then smirked and kissed the manās cheek.
āFunny, but I think I would remember you dying by being killed by someone. Last time I checked, illnesses donāt count as murder,ā he remarked, feeling quite proud of himself for seemingly out-clevering his intelligent husband.
Update
// -rolls in from the abyss-
So⦠itās been a really long time. Iām sorry for not saying anything about a hiatus, and I have no excuse for it other than me being a non-confrontational loser, so feel free to come in with pitchforks.
Anyways, I am tentatively coming back to Mikaās and Masaomiās accounts. I have no plan of action at the moment, but for now while my muses are insanely fickle, Iāll only be roleplaying with a few friends. Iāll also be on Mika more, because I have more muse for him. I donāt know how long this will be for, and it may even be permanent, but Iāll keep you guys updated. So for now, my account will be private. Feel free to ask to roleplay with one of my boys, but keep in mind that I will likely only agree to the muses mine have formed deep connections with, and will be easy relationships to get back into, whether itās resuming one of our threads from the Stone Age, starting a new one in (one of our) existing verse(s), or starting over. Iāve only spoken to two people about this that both my muses and I have long history with, so donāt think Iām saying no by not contacting you! Iām just not sure who would want to roleplay again. I lost contact with most of my friends I made here, and I donāt want to assume itās okay to pick up from where we left off (and Iām also afraid that Iāve hurt someoneās feelings by being the doofus I am).
Please message me if you have any questions! If you have my Skype, I prefer communicating through that because I see the messages a lot sooner. Iāll be on both accounts for at least the next few hours on and off, though.

āI was still there, you know? Still part of it. Just because you donāt actively participate doesnāt make you an innocent party. If Iād have decided it was too risky for me to attempt, then it would have been no better.ā And even though she hadnāt, the possibility still existed that she could haveć¼and sheād done it before. After all, if all of their targets miraculously escaped or avoided serious injury more often than not, it would have been way too obvious. She would love to believe that her personal doses of justice erased any guilt from her record, but that simply wasnāt the case.
She crossed her forearms inwards so her hands were dangling off the edge of the table, and couldnāt help matching Masaomiās bitter laugh with a gentle, understanding one of her own. But she began playing with her fingers, wringing them slightly as she considered his words.
She understood his warning. She really did. And he was absolutely rightć¼for most people. She certainly didnāt plan on spending a large amount of time around the guy, but if it came down to it, she was generally confident in her ability to remain aware.
āI can definitely tell that heās not someone to be trusted,ā She answered thoughtfully. āI canāt say Iāve a great idea of just what it is heās done, but I believe you. You can hear it in his voice, and even that feels like itās on purpose.ā She wanted to say something else, assure him sheād be alright, that she could manage on her own. But that would be admitting she didnāt entirely plan to keep her distance. She couldnāt really, with his involvement with the Kishitaniās. āThanks for the warning.ā
Tem blinked and moved in a little to meet Masaomiās gaze, surprised by the sudden hush. She cocked her head slightly as he spoke, and wet her lips as she tried to catch his meaning.
āThe thing on my arm?ā She echoed in confusion. She flexed her fingers almost questioningly. āYou mean, the stuff I showed you in the park?ā
Ā Masaomi nodded. He definitely understood taking responsibility for the actions of others because of his relation to the group. As the leader of his gang, he felt accountable for the actions of his members, whether he told them to do something or they went off on their own without his knowledge. Over the years, his maturity had increased, and he no longer ran away from his problems. It wasnāt a change that he often dwelled on or even recognized as occurring, however, so he answered with a simple, āYeah, I understand that.ā
Ā When Tem responded to his warning, Masaomi held himself back from continuing the conversation, to make her really believe how dangerous Izaya was. He didnāt want any decent person to get involved with someone so untrustworthy and conniving, but he also knew that he couldnāt make decisions for someone else. That was a concept which had taken a long time to set in, with months filled with failed attempts of trying to steer Saki away from the devious informant. So he kept his mouth shut and moved on from the topic, figuring that this was a person who could certainly take care of herself, anyway.
Ā Ā Ā āMhmm... The, uh, ice thing,ā he clarified, leaning back in his seat again so he wasnāt awkwardly perched forward on the edge of his chair. It wasnāt every day that he met someone with superpowersāin fact, he was fairly sure this was the first time he had witnessed someone use an inhuman ability. Was it inappropriate to ask such a thing, as though he were pointing out a birthmark or blemish? He was normally competent when it came to minding his manners, but this was a topic far outside of his understanding. It was so... cool, really. And while he wouldnāt press her for information about it, he was curious about the girl with powers that he thought only existed in manga and films.
We look up at the same stars, and see such different things.
