Running V Scarf Pattern

                                     A  Double  Knit  Scarf  Pattern

                                                                                                      Size 7” Wide x 62 ½’’ Long Supplies 1 Skein Simply Soft (Black) 1 Skein Simply Soft (Ocean)   Or 315 yds of worsted weight yarn in each color. (Depending on length, maybe less)   2  Stitch markers  (Optional) Size 7 Needles (4.55mm) Gauge It’s a scarf not that important. Pattern Cast on 30 sts + 2 (for edge stitches). So all together (both colors) you should have 64 stitches. 60sts for the pattern repeats and 4 for the edges stitches. The first and last stitches are NOT charted you can began and end with any  color you want but keep the colors consist.  Began with row 1 of the chart, place a stitch maker between every 10th stitch to better keep track of the chart. Repeat chart until end of row. At the end of each row with both yarns in back slip one color, bring both yarns in front slip the last color. Before beginning row, twist yarns together to keep the two sides of the fabric together. Once you work the chart a few times it is easy to memorize.  When you get the length you desire for your scarf bind off.

Fearing for her life, Iowa Democrat abandons race to unseat GOP Rep. Steve King

Let’s not forget to add that Rep. Steve King is a literal white nationalist who has on-air said that white people are superior and more civilized. Not to mention his not so subtle nod to the “we must secure the existence of the white race,” idea. 

And let’s also add King’s response to Weaver dropping out:

What a preposterous statement. Like, we get death threats on the daily, most people on tumblr have gotten them at some point and this dude it trying to say that it didn’t happen at all to her? He’s a fucking darling amongst white nationalists, especially over social media, and he expects us to believe that his little minions didn’t ever once threaten her? Riiiight.

‘Breitbart’ reporter fired after racist tweets

Breitbart reporter Katie McHugh was fired from the right-wing website after tweeting a series of racist remarks following a terrorist attack in London over the weekend, CNN first reported Monday.

Breitbart editor-in-chief Alex Marlow reportedly announced McHugh’s departure to staff on Monday.

McHugh caused an uproar after tweeting on Saturday that “there would be no deadly terror attacks in the U.K. if Muslims didn’t live there.“ 

The tweet prompted immediate backlash for its historical inaccuracy and for its explicit bigotry toward Muslims.

Several Breitbart reporters told CNN on Sunday that they found McHugh’s remarks “appalling,” “terrible” and “dumb.” Read more (6/5/17)

Lindisfarne by Lucy Hague

This is going in my knitting goals category along with anything by Kieran Foley.

According to the pattern description, you need to be able to do:

• Provisional cast-on • Complex closed-loop cabling • I-cord cast-off • Slipped stitch colour-work cables • Twisted stitch cables

For once, I don’t know how to do all of those things. I think I’ll save this for winter break this year or the summer after I graduate because I am not going to have time to devote to it for the next year. Zen projects only!
