Cold night in Cyber City
Ramb is the first TV World employee to quit, seemingly setting off the chain reaction that eventually leads to everyone else quitting, too.
And yet, unlike the others, Ramb doesn't actually go anywhere. In the normal route, even though he's "quit," you'll still find him in the exact same place he's been the entire chapter: behind the counter of the concession stand.
This tells me two things. One, even after leaving Tenna, Ramb has nowhere else to go. And two, no matter what, he wanted to stay where Kris could find him.
I’ve seen people argue that either Ramb or Kris decided it would be better for Ramb not to come to Castle Town where the other Darkners would continue to shun him, but I don’t think Ramb would make that choice. If he presented himself honestly in Chapter 3 (which, to be fair, is a big if), then he would want to stay where he could continue to see Kris. I’m convinced that he didn’t get to make that choice, that someone took him against his will.
Or, maybe, something.
i just made some buuuullshiiiit
ramb doodles + the rare vito rambtat (I love it when groomers show photos of them spiking the hair of dogs they are cleaning, I got the idea from that skjkjs)
Ramb is the funniest Toby Fox character of all time actually. This random reskin of a Chapter 2 NPC shows up out of nowhere with zero foreshadowing and acts like he's actually known literally every single major Darkner from the previous chapters drops the words "chaos" "big shot" and "freedom" three sentences away from each other like he was in a "i remember youre genocides" meme except fully unironically says he's gonna show Kris "some REAL fun" and give them Freedom only to traumatize them with an evil ass zelda knockoff that railroads them into killing people and John Mantle and then has the fucking gull to die on you no boss fight no crystal no resolution no nothing before being spirited away by god knows what. if you don't pursue his evil ass sidequest he gets off-screened and some hater talks about how he sucked ass and nobody loved him right next to his own fucking corpse. kris and susie don't even take him to castle town they actually just leave him to die. he helps your gay uncle imprison your mom in a hampster ball. he's british and he lives in boston.
Ramb practically just giving you silver bullet NoelleKnight evidence so casually puts him in my top 5 favourite Darkners list and he will never know it. The idea that he would be based on Kris giving a plug a name and a personality to help Noelle get over electrical sockets is so defining of their past connection and how Noelle learns to get over her fears (Especially so in Chapter 2 with how she gets over mice!)
adrien was gaslit so good he started building A MUSUEM for his abuser, IN HIS OWN HOUSE

Kris and Susie watch in horror as the pacifist of the group snaps Flowery’s neck
Today was the last day the mostly abandoned PDX Lloyd Center Mall was open to public, so hundreds of people just showed up in this usually empty abandoned mall and hung out, no one cared if you drew on the walls since its about to be demolished
Had fun drawing critters. Tomorrow they’ll stare into an empty building before they’re gone
Also it was awesome having lots of people walk up and talk to me while I was drawing curious about my art, and several people who recognized it as my art, which was really heartwarming ;w;

Posting this from something I said on Discord:
Lots of discourse about how good/bad of people Jack and Rosemary are is completely missing that a lot of the story's characters are shaped by the circumstances and era they're in, and that a lot of the point of Faces of Grief- as I saw it- is how Jack and Rosemary failed each other and Sophie in the face of such a devastating loss.
"Jack is patriarchal and thinks he should be stronger than his wife and daughter" yes, and he was raised in the 1950s and is trying to take on the role of the protective family man because it's what he learned and he believes it's what his family needs. Misogynistic and rooted in misogynistic ideals, yes, but it doesn't make him a raging sexist, it's just a way he fails his family because that's what the episode is about. Arguably, by not allowing himself to grieve to keep up the image of the strong patriarch of the Walten family, he's also failing himself.
"Rosemary doesn't get any help for her obviously deteriorating mental health and is a worse mother to Sophie for it" yes, and it's 1974 and that kind of thing was way more stigmatized, and also Rose's mental health is so violently bad that she believes she doesn't deserve help and no amount of Sophie needing her is going to change those factors. This doesn't make her an irredeemable person because she didn't put her daughter first when she was not capable of it, it's just a way that she fails her family and herself. Y'know what I mean
