It's a big issue honestly. Ive been one of the fee lucky enough to have kept power all this time since the freeze hit sunday night but my brother wasnt so lucky(my okdest brother) and they have been staying with our grandmother because their little one needs to keep warm since shes a toddler. We have no water throughout the town either and those that do have to boil the water because the utilities have all frozen/busted so they arent even being purrified. So many corporations in Texas are more worried about making a profit that none of the systems were made for any form of extreme weather.

I hear arguments of "they knew it was coming so why didnt they do anything to prevent it?" Quite simple. They want money and dont want to waste it on things they feel are frivolous and would tank their profits. Could they have prepared better? Yes they could have when they first installed things but noooo they were worried about the upkeep/cost of doing these things and just basically its all a mess down here.
