okay, i've seen this one post going around my dash a few times, and at this point i feel a need to say something about it:

vampires drinking from blood banks is NOT more ethical than drinking from live donors! in fact, it's worse!

Okay, so here’s what you do, if you’re a vampire and you want to get your blood from a blood bank and not from live prey.

You get a job as a night shift lab tech in the blood bank. Find the right size hospital- big enough to have a lot of product moving through, but small enough that you can be in the blood bank alone while someone else is on break. Maybe like, 700 beds and a hopping trauma department.

Sometimes, blood is going to get thrown out. It’s going to expire, since it only lasts 42 days on the shelf, and this happens more commonly with rare blood types like B and AB that can’t easily be used for other patients. Or, it’s going to get returned from the floor and has to be discarded because the blood bag was entered and not used, or because it got too warm to put safely back in the fridge and give to someone else. This is inevitable, and discarded blood products aren’t going to be used for someone who needs a transfusion.

You know who’s keeping track of where a blood bag is once it’s been discarded in the computer system? Fucking no one. You pull that sucker out of the bio-hazard trash and stuff it in your coat.

Brief pause on the usual fandom funny business. What is Michael Mann trying to say about the performance of masculinity and its relationship to rage, to violence? That is what I am puzzling out. This is my personal project, and of all the books and journal articles I have read on his work, the answer to this question seems woefully unaddressed. (Because the published scholarship that exists on Michael Mann has been written, by and large, by men.)

Thief, Heat, and Collateral are all in agreement that there is a conscious drama being enacted, the performance of vocation, but also its interrelation with the performance of gender — its constructed language, behaviors, affectations, expectations. That there is an unstable divide, a tricky barrier, between the authentic self and the assumption of the role. It can amplify and reveal, and it can obscure and delude. It may be transparent or refractive like glass, like a lens; protective or restrictive like steel, like prison bars.

If Michael Mann presents us with a barrier, it is with the explicit intention of testing it, subjecting it to maximum pressure. What withstands the assault? Where are the weak points, how and when do they crumble? Through the cracks, what seeps through? What melts, transforms, changes shape? What explodes?

He’s clear that nothing survives the intruding forces of capitalist violence, that participation in the market transaction necessarily invites a Trojan Horse, a literal and metaphorical time bomb. Domestic sanctity — fantasy, really — is breached, over and over again, by dangerous invaders, agents of an external enemy. And yet internal containment measures are surprisingly durable. What I mean to say is: does Michael Mann really believe that Frank is not the type of guy who would hit his wife? It’s such a precious fantasy to me, and a part of me just loves it, is infatuated with it, finds it so irresistibly beautiful. That a Frank or a Neil McCauley or a Vincent Hanna (wait until you read Heat 2!!!) will always stop short, at the right moment, at that sole immovable, impenetrable line. That Frank will pull a gun on anyone and everyone but Jessie, he will wrestle her into his car and drive off and bellow at her, but he would never, ever do a bunch of things to her. That McCauley will intimidate a woman, chase after her, but he won’t strike her; she's always free to go. That Vincent Hanna will lash out at radio transceivers and television sets but not his wife’s belongings. exposing your stellium:

i’ve compiled a bunch of my research/observational notes about how having a stellium in a certain house can affect an individual. some of these claims are my opinions btw, it may or may not resonate, just take what does.

fyi: some of these are are overdramatized, so please don’t get offended, especially if it’s true.

what is a stellium?

“a stellar event..”

a stellium is a cluster of planets (usually 3+) positioned in the same sign/house. they’re aren’t really common, so consider yourself lucky if you have one— in my personal opinion, life will be somewhat ‘easier’ for you because the house that you have your stellium in is basically your answer for what you should be going towards to truly find success. think of it as already ‘mastering’ the other houses, so you finally just have that one house to put your focus on. some things to take note of when getting into this topic is, just because you have an empty house doesn’t mean you won’t experience energy/themes that are associated with it.. for example an empty 7H doesn’t necessarily mean having no relationships or marriage, it indicates that you’re not putting any ounce of energy towards that particular house— the lunar nodes (rahu+ ketu) & asteroids are not included in a stellium.

reminder: the sign ruling the house you have your stellium in will show how everything will play out including the aspects, etc.

1H:

usually self centered individuals. ego could be extremely strong. selfish tendencies. very much focused on the ‘self’ and what they got going on in their own life. these people could care less sometimes about the problems of their peers, unless it’s someone they actually have love/respect for(family, friends, etc..) can be obsessed with their physical appearance or the way they come across to others. 1H - 7H axis coming into play! not much is hidden w them, they have a “what you see is what you get” type of vibe most of the time. they think of their identity a lot and are self aware. personality issues. the world doesn’t revolve around you, k? jk.

have a huge focus on their family/loved ones. $hungry$ they’re always finding ways to accumulate wealth. can be materialistic and desire the luxuries that life has to offer. can be seen taking a steady approach to any and all things whether it be for a new project, job, etc. consumed with material possessions. stinginess is seen, especially with things that they are really protective over. hoarding and collecting what they deem valuable. these individuals do not like to be rushed, they do things on their own time. can become extremely greedy; can easily get attached to people, places, even objects. goldiggers are usually seen with this stellium, i.e Melania Trump. stubbornness to the max, their beliefs and values will not change for no one!

3H:

these individuals practically live to communicate. have a ‘superhero’ complex due to the amount of courage they have. siblings may be annoyed w them, they either love them or hate them. gossiping is something that comes easily for these people. addicted to social media or anything that will stimulate the mind. cannot stop thinking, they literally have a thought every second of the day. masters at deception. they have multiple sides to them that seem to activate with people they interact with. doesn’t really take life seriously, but knows when to get serious(this is why they’re seen as disingenuous most of the time). experimental with all types of things. too open minded. either they have a good memory or are extremely forgetful.

4H:

obsessed with their homes. being comfortable within their environment is a must. codependent in relationships. the emotions fluctuate a lot. love to indulge in their favorite comfort food’s and tend to eat a lot when they’re emotional. mommy issues, goes to the mother for practically anything and everything. did i mention being overly emotional? especially when things don’t go their way. these people are always reminded of their childhood whether it be from a certain sound, smell, taste..

5H:

want their self expression to constantly be noticed/appreciated. love and desire the attention they get from everyone. may modify their body or intentionally change their personality, ‘aesthetic’ / attitude to come across a certain way(try’s too much to look different to captivate others..) ego is high, kinda similar to 1H stellium ngl. never fails to get bored, can literally find entertainment in almost everything they do. drama queens/kings. wants to be center stage 24/7. their thoughts and ideas will be communicated whether you asked them or not.

overly critical at times. over analyzes the details in almost everything that they forget the main point or ‘big picture’.. can get too deep into their thoughts; cleans when they’re not in the best of moods or vice versa. can be too giving / always feel the need to provide for others even when they don’t need the help. may think they come across as more ‘put together’ than their friends. have an abundance of guilt due to their impossibly high standards at times.

these the freaky ones. constantly thinking about s*ex. is interested into the darker aspects of life but acts as if their not. gets tattoos and or piercings not for the ‘look’ but more for the feeling they get when they’re getting it(pleasure/pain sensation, y’know?)your energy is intense; people feel it from a mile away. can make or break someone with their aura/words. highly intuitive but is constantly in doubt. love to dye their hair. secretly obsessed over their romantic interests or anyone they potentially find appealing. for some reason people feel the need to trauma dump these individuals. this is one of the hardest houses to have a stellium in my opinion, so i will stop for the sake of it🫂

9H:

thinks it’s necessary to impose their beliefs onto other people. ego is high with this stellium as well, these people may feel like they know it all. crave the knowledge and energy for higher spiritual and intellectual realms. the types of people to skip a night out with friends to read a really interesting book they found, not that, that’s a bad thing—may shop online for things they think will ‘bring them up’ or evaluate their life in some way, shape or form. doesn’t know when to stop exploring, can never truly relax and enjoy the moment at hand. the mind is fixated on knowing everything. traveling until they’re unsatisfied and moving on to the next big thing.

10H:

authoritative, wants a sense of control in their environment. can be domineering. people are usually ‘afraid’ or look up to these individuals a lot. too focused on their image in society; the way they’re perceived. these individuals invest a lot of their time into what they do in terms of their career. tends to find new hobby’s and then automatically thinks about how they can turn that into something that will make them financially stable. too independent, they don’t favor the thought of asking others for favors let alone accepting presents/gifts. find themselves subconsciously craving someone with ‘moon’ or cancerian type quality’s. overworks themselves to the max. the ego may be fragile when these individuals are in a position where they are not being treated with respect or courtesy.

11H:

these people can sometimes have unrealistic expectations about human population and life in general that will probably never come to fruition. so far away from being traditional or doing things in a traditional way, finds them self wanting to make a difference in their community. technology is their best buddy. the type to be the first to form a petition or protest. want to change the way humans think about already existing thinking patterns.

When talking about the 8th house in regards to relationships, the first thing that we think of is sex, however the 8th house rules sex because it is all about any type of deeper intimacy in any committed connection. Our 7th house tells us how we relate to others and what type of connections we like to establish with others but the 8th house can tell more about what you need in order to nurture and establish a deeper connection with someone. Of course many other things in the chart are very telling of how you connect with others such as Moon or Venus, but in this post I'll focus on the the 8th house which is all about going past that one-on-one interaction (7th house) to really let the other person in, which is why you may or may not be comfortable with your 8th house energy. This house is very telling of the type of energy you need in order to build trust and strong binding and also how you behave with the people you trust

If you're using placidus and you find that you're in situation where for example you're a water ASC but your 8th house is ruled by water and not air just pay attention to the 7th house description of water asc and the 8th description of fire asc and so on. If your 7th and 8th house are ruled by the same sign for example Virgo, these descriptions still apply cause the following sign (Libra) will still occupy some of the 8th house but you could also relate to the earth 8th house description of air risings
