Ad appendere steli alle grucce delle nuvole e sorprendersi ad accendere angoli. L’intrisa pioggia di acque assolate , il “Matto“ si confonde nei fiori con il sudore delle membra colpite da quella forza che sprigionava contro i fasci di canne, nella debolezza transitoria della sera. Quale elemento d’intuizione, la sacra innocenza, inizio di imprese e di sfide.

Sogno lucido / Lucid dream I felt i needed to group together some of my works in a larger project and give these photos back their true nature which was always there but unconsciously revealed.

The result of this long research is “Sogno Lucido” / “Lucid Dream”, an entirely handmade and hand bound book containing twenty-two (analog) photos designed during my pure approach to photography. Their number is twenty-two like the number of the major arcana tarot cards which have taken another form in the book, although still sticking to the meaning of the original cards based on the numerology that passed down over the centuries. Every photo which has become “a card” is accompanied by a poetry quote wrote by the author and typewritten on pictorially perfect handmade paper from Nepal which represents the key to reading every single arcane. The quote is so shaped on the photo that it creates a harmonious and intimate bed, the ideal way to ensure that the reader will be guided by his or her own sensibility to read the photos and will interpret the writings by himself or herself which contain feelings and directions but no absolute keys because it is our subjectivity that gives the surrounding reality a magical meaning. However, the game takes us back to the childlike dimension which we need to regain possession of our free and creative roots, enabling us to see and imagine the world breaking the stereotypes which society imposes on us and which restrict our natural spiritual and artistic growth. Be astonished at the world and its beauty as if you observed it and studied it for the first time with eyes wide open and eager to learn.

Two single, unique and irreproducible signed copies are available, one in Italian and one in English. The book will be placed in a blue velvet case, used to keep religious icons. www.francescoartibani.com
