Can't believe my precious winter will be gone soon. I will be looking back fondly to those beautiful snowy nights when I'm inevitably stuck in the scorching garishness of summer. In my ideal world the four seasons would be winter, spring, winter again, and then autumn. Wouldn't that be nice? At least I'm lucky to live in a cold-climate country.

not sure that translation has aged well with the connotations of "political" in English. that's not quite how I'd phrase it nowadays, when women can seek public office to a much greater degree- she's not a politician; she's a social climber

I've also seen "A Woman of Ambition," which is more literal (my limited French reads the title as "the ambitious one [feminine]") but also clearer to a modern audience

I love this so much. Someone slowed it down so it's not the old-fashioned herky-jerky of old films, now someone colorized it…the past feels like the present because, well, people. Lookit them having fun! *beams at everyone*
