hello. scary new @ (i pluralized it). kind of terrifying to change it but that's okay, i'm keeping @ksariya, I'm just moving to use That One for art, writing, general "creation", and this one for reblogs and personal stuff. basically, this blog's archive has been irrevocably ruined by 15 years of casual use that i wish i could just "private" like twt without erasing it but it is what it is.
i'll be reblogging any original content i've created (across here and my ao3 sideblog, which I'm sunsetting as well) into @ksariya to populate my tags. sometime soon i'll solidify my new tagging system here and pin it, and maybe in another 10 years it'll be enough to outweigh the time i really liked SNK yuri in middle school. RIP

i love that s5 jmart is just two little martyrs at the end of the world, just martyrs of vastly different kinds. i love that jon is a bit selfishly vengeful, with a touch of mistrustful self-importance; every solution he has revolves around himself and some semblance of control over its execution and outcome, even when it hurts those he cares for. meanwhile, martin is selfless and learning to be selfish. peter's "you are the world's hero" bit didn't work on martin for the exact same reasons elias' "you are the world's hero" Lite did work on jon. i love how different they are. i love that jon's loneliness comes from feeling like he's a monster, something no longer human, while martin's comes from feeling overwhelmingly human.
i like giving Jonathan Sims beautiful brown eyes that Change eventually. they're inexplicably hazel after he wakes up, and they slip further and further until he's staring in the mirror at somebody he hardly recognizes. it catches him sometimes, freezes him in place as he passes by his reflection. he becomes the very thing haunting the corners of his own vision, something just quite not, something that he can't focus on too long or it'll get fuzzy around the edges. he finds an old photo and just stares; he isn't that jon anymore, and he never will be again.
Doozy of an episode. Lots of thoughts I've had prior coming together.

oh that's ITS tape recorder. oh dear. I mean, we already know that in a Fear World prior archivists warped into "servitors" for the eye, as they were called. so it wouldn't be terribly unlikely that this is some manifested archivist creature or just a general eye Thing with an archivist cast. "hostile toward other avatars" (or just "generally hostile") is more likely then for the tapes themselves, maybe (irt my last message). sorry gwen. (unless there's some bouchardisms going on. i'm still watching out for that. very carefully.)
there continuing to be additional counterparts from the other world means that we can probably assume that it's mostly likely/probable that most if not all characters have them. the fact that they might not all be tied to the institute is interesting, though i'm suspicious of "the jon and martin that match the timing we're looking for died 20 years ago" until proven otherwise. it's probably fine. whateverrrrrrr.
what is interesting to me is that Celia obviously Knows something, and at the very least TMP wants us to think that she's definitely from (or at least privy to the events of) the other universe, and yet she's getting close to Sam and not Gwen. If she knows the first/last of TMA characters so specifically, I'd think that she'd be quite interested in the fact that Gwen is a Bouchard, and now that we're hunting down prior characters, I imagine it will come up. But I've been waiting for it to come up for ages (head grabbing losing it emoji). going a lil crazy. Obviously Sam has some kind of connection to this world's institute, though, so he's a good way to learn more about what they had going on here in this universe. And having an ally in whatever she's looking for is probably good. I wonder if she has figured out that he's being fed linked cases or not yet. god i want to know everything about how she is / was and what she's got going on. i'm biting at the bars of my enclosure.
For all of Alice's pretend-aloofness to make it seem like she truly has compartmentalized the cases and doesn't pay attention to them, i'm glad she at least did actually pay attention to them. the fact that there have been other tape recording cases is :sideeye: and she knew immediately that they're in danger. god bless. i think she will be a very competent ally in this.
Finished TMA last month and have been starting TMP. Thought it'd be fun to liveblog it a bit so that I can point folks to a tag to see what my reactions / thoughts were at the time.

I knew Collin (sp?) knew shit. Bro had all the cams taped over I just screamed in my car on ep 8 bc last EP was an internal email from Jon, and then NOW WE GET GERRY AND GERTIE. THEYRE BACK. OH MY GOD. Anyway, I use the word back loosely. My presumption at this point is that we're in one of the alternate universes that the fears departed to. Presumably about 20 years ago, since that's when the fire of this universe's version of the Magnus institute was? But I guess it could have been happening before. Depends on the timeline of what the old response team is, they haven't been clear about it yet. Sam has definitely marked himself in some way by checking that whatever box on his application that he said he did godspeed my dude.
Celia has already conveniently mentioned several fears and seems to probably know more than she lets on.
Interested to know what Leena knows and whatever murdering they've got going on is. From the way she reacted to Gwen blackmailing her, not caring about the threat of whoever hired her to kill being notified, she did not care at all, so I'm assuming she's acting so bemused because she's serving an avatar or something similar
Oh yeah Celia so knows something. Girl why are you asking about time travel and trying to get Sam to subtly drop (or pursue? can't tell) the Magnus leads

WOW WHAT AN EPISODE. JESUS. SO MUCH HERE. CELIA IS TOTALLY FROM ANOTHER UNIVERSE, IF NOT THE UNIVERSE. damn. And the whole Dome project as a ritual -- can't tell if this is a panopticon parallel / universe equivalent for Something or institute related or something else, but some good shit here. The balancing of the fear with the hope for the new millennia was a cool bit when discussing their goals with that.
[ERROR] is a huge full reveal, Jesus. I'm assuming this is what Sam and Alice accidentally released from the institute for sure. And it's responsible for these "talking about greatest fears in death or before it" statements. It sounds like Gwen started reciting that fear and whatever Eye ass creature it is saw potential there, so now it's been put onto the OIAR as an additional source of fear. Which makes sense, because the case files are such potent sources of fear with all of the cases they've heard (and indirectly "experienced" by the archivist effect).
The tape recorder biting Ink (lol) is probably a sign that whatever is putting them there Now (whether it's the Web still, Martin as an web/lonely influence, etc.) is protective over Gwen or at least hostile toward other avatars. Interesting.

Oh I'm SUREEEEE SHE KNOWS THOSE NAMES OH IM SUREEEEE YOU LITTLE INTERDIMENSIONAL TRAVELER. otherwise, fucking awesome episode, one of my favorites for completely unrelated reasons. Found the case really neat, the execution of the decoding from the sounder was incredible tension-wise. Fantastic VA work and mixing. Awesome.
i think i will start posting my TMA thoughts and my TMP liveblog here soon. i think it's fun to have an archive of the things i Think to easily link to someone when they start it or have watched it, rather than forwarding one trillion discordant discord screenshots. won't be anything revolutionary but it's fun to have something to actually Post about for once. stay tuned.
