I’m late, I’m late for A very important date. No time to say hello, good-bye, I’m late, I’m late, I’m late I’m late and when I wave, I lose the time I save. My fuzzy ears and whiskers Took me too much time to shave. I run and then I hop, hop, hop, I wish that I could fly. There’s danger if I dare to Stop and here’s a reason why: I’m over-due, I’m in a rabbit stew. Can’t even say good-bye, Hello, I’m late, I’m late, I’m late

Going round the clock. I shot this frame several hours ago. I know it’s late but I always like to review an edit after shooting. This frame just jumped out at me as a favourite from the session. Couldn’t resist getting it edited before getting some kip.

Cyborg future

Sharing some more Photoshop work today.Quite often it’s not until I get the chance to revisit frames that I get the good ideas for a bit of creativity. 

The blue make-up of the original shot just struck me as being good for a base as an android / cyborg type image (without having to do extra Ps work)

I didn't really have a clear vision from the outset apart from knowing I wanted the face to remain human, the piece just evolved as I worked on it.

A few frames from a biker shoot on Monday evening. It was cold wet and windy. Having already postponed due to the weather I decided to say sod it and brave the elements. Sometimes you’ve just gotta shoot regardless of conditions, especially if your subject is made of sturdier stuff than you !

I love it when I have a really strong image that can be used to make a great piece of digital art with a sprinkle of imagination. The original image from my recent shoot with Layla Leigh and Christelle Pellecuer MUA alongside the finished piece. Inspired by the Game of Throne white walkers.

I had planned a location shoot that had to be postponed due to the wonderful British weather. I ended up having a really productive studio shoot, completing 4 different looks.

One of my favourite frames is at the bottom of this set. I captured this image late in the day when the energy was starting to drop. We just lifted the mood doing some silly stuff.

My first post following the completion of my 365. Happy New Year everyone. A small selection of images from my first shoot of 2016. These photos were taken as part of a campaign to get more men engaging with yoga. I really enjoy working with people who are passionate about what they do. It's great when you are able to use the energy in the room to create some fantastic images. All shot on an X-T1 with 50-140 2.8

Mostly it’s been pictures here, I’m not a writer but here are a few of my thoughts.

This is it… the camera and lens behind all of the shots, well apart from a Sammy 12mm and lights / strobes for some of the shots. I started out 2015 with the aim of completing a 365 project

 The X-T1 (and x100)  have been the perfect photographic companion(s) over the last year. Their compact size and ease of use have been a godsend. I can’t imagine trying a 365 lugging around a full frame DSLR & equivalent lens.

 Part of the challenge was also for me to minimize my gear, to get rid of the G.A.S that us photographers are prone to from time to time. I’ve managed to keep the X-T1 & 18-55mm by my side and in use every single day.

It’s not been easy to commit to this project, sometimes it’s felt like a struggle to try to produce something of substance or quality every single day. 

I’ve learnt to loosen up a bit, it’s a natural instinct to only publish your best work, I’m a strong believer that your only as good as your last photo. 

Committing to a 365 removes that luxury, there simply isn’t enough time in a day to create those juxtapositions or find the perfect subject or location, I have learnt not to be overly picky and to simply say “it’s good enough” 

I’ve also met some amazing people, and made new friends because of this need to produce work daily..

I’ve learnt a great deal about my local area. The need to explore to find new places has lead me to turn down “that” alleyway that I always just walk past and find things or people I never knew were there.

If you have ever contemplated trying a 365 project - Do it. Start today. Take a picture. Take several. Make tomorrow 2/365. It doesn’t matter what gear you use. Start creating. keep on creating, make something that didn’t exist yesterday. 

Thank you to all of my followers, I hope you have got something positive from this blog even if you’ve had a good laugh about how bad a couple of the photos have been.

 This year is coming to a close and with it my 365. I do feel a bit uneasy about next year, I almost feel like I am going to suffer withdrawal but I’m pretty sure that will drive me onwards.  

I have a couple of ideas in concept at present, I will still be active on this blog and continue to post throughout the year.
