when i was finishing this, i remembered how in 2022 i found a 700,000-word fanfic about them on ao3, with a childish description almost like in the style of an anime protagonist, where everything was told from jon kent's perspective. i immediately started reading the ending lol

when i started reading, i found out 1) chapter was long; 2) it seems kids had an existential crisis; 3) the ending. omg this ending.

it all ends with a explosion of the universe, aka an open ending and two kids (or no longer kids) discuss issues i didn't expect to read at three in the morning on ao3.
