My big announcement!!

I'm getting top surgery! So I decided to put together a big event for it, the first batch will come out on May 7th, after that I'll edit this post anytime a new batch is going to be released

This post might change and be adjusted to add possible references, or additional information, this isn't something I've done before so it'll be a bit of a learning curve

Once the event begins I'll put the link to my Ko-fi where you'll be able to find the adopts and custom slots, for now I'm just getting the word out ^^

How do you colour your work?

very lazily tbh lmao

I don't use proper shading that often, so I use gradients and noise to cheat my way to some measure of depth in my coloring :')

Usually, I'll make a base color layer that I can clip a folder with color layers on top of, like this

if my lineart is clean enough, I can do a base color layer very quickly, using this tool:

Make illustrations, manga, comics and animation with Clip Studio Paint, the artist’s tool for drawing and painting. All you need for drawing

Then I'll start filling in flats (and usually doing some blush and hair gradients to draw focus to the face)

Then comes the gradient layer (at 30-ish% opacity) and I'm not kidding when I say I've used this exact gradient image for every single drawing I've done in at least the last decade. Violet gradient my beloved

Then I throw a noise layer on top, also at 30-ish opacity

Then I color the interior lineart (I usually leave the exterior edge of the lineart fully black)

And lastly I'll copy the sketch and dunk it on top on a multiply layer at varying levels of opacity depending on what looks good. I erase parts of the sketch using a big kneaded eraser so I'm just left with a hint of the sketch. I just think it looks kinda neat and it emulates something a little more traditional looking.
