He glances at the balled up paper, clicking his own pen. “Just bullshit it,” He replies with a shrug, biting the tip of the pen. Colin wants to say getting drunk rarely solves anything, but nothing makes much sense these days. Getting wasted may actually be the answer. “That seems kind of fucked up,” Colin finally says. “People need to grieve and shit, throwing a party seems like the least sensitive thing to do.”
“That’s what I’ve been doing for the past week. Thank god for being on the honor roll.” Right now, it was all her education was good for. Where previously she put everything into her school work, now it seemed so pointless on the grander scale. “What if I say it’s a celebration for my survival? Or call it a wake for those who we’ve lost? Does that make it sound any better for you?”
