“ Hey, it’s okay. ” The last thing Matt wanted to do was make a stranger cry, and he could tell how upset the girl was by the look on her face. He reached out and put his hand on her shoulder, wondering how he’d gotten himself into this situation when only twenty-four hours ago he was back home. “ Don’t beat yourself up about it. Do I look like one of your friends or something? “

Liv rubbed at each eye with the back of her hand before offering him a weak smile. It wasn’t his fault that he looked like someone she knew -- unless he was an evil clone or something, but that wasn’t exactly her default assumption. “Thanks,” she said quietly. She took a deep breath and looked up at the sky, blinking away residual tears. “Exactly like my boyf--good friend, yeah. I'd kind of been pretending I didn’t miss him until I saw you. Matt, right, is that what you said your name was? I’m Liv. You must be new, so welcome to Magnolia. And sorry again about the hug and the tears and that whole, er, thing. I’m usually not that dramatic.”

“You’re...?” Liv gasped, covering her mouth with both hands. “Oh! I’m sorry--I...oh, no.” Her eyes watered, and she could feel the embarrassment welling up inside her, but she couldn’t stop. Being able to cry at the drop of hat was useful as an actress -- not so much when hugging strangers who looked exactly like the guy she really liked. “I can’t believe this keeps happening to me.”

Liv laughed at the question, considering she was possibly the worst person to ask about sports-related locations. Still, she turned to the voice. “I have no idea--” She cut herself off, squinting her eyes before grinning widely. “Holden!” It had been so long since she’d seen someone from back home, she couldn’t help flinging her arms around him. “I’m so glad you’re here.” She dropped her arms suddenly and took a step back to look at him. “Why didn’t you tell me you were coming??”

she cocked her head to the side now, out of ideas. “well, then, i guess i’m not sure what it is you do to get from here to there. you can’t teleport, can you?”

“i’ve caught a little of that myself, but i’ve yet to actually see any in action. the people who have mentioned it to me seem harmful enough. some weird things have happened to me here, but not usually in a scary way.”

“Well, Maddie isn’t a terrible name. I’d say it’s alright. Short and purple? That’s…strange. Witches aren’t the only ones to use magic, you know. Princesses use magic, too.”

“It’s a wonderful name -- Madison, I mean. Apparently she was born with it. I don’t think she’s here anymore, though. Being royal doesn’t mean you’re not still human...but besides, I’m not a princess, either.”

“i think the last thing anyone wants is to upset the werewolf community. those are some powerful enemies. weeeell...obviously talent is more important than looks, also the fact that he’s a sweetheart, but there’s a reason why a lot of young casts are all attractive, right?? that’s what some people tune in for. i just hope people stay for the quality of the show itself.”
