Library Royals and Romance Wars
My Co-workers during the last few months of 2025: No, The Nightmare Before Kissmas cannot be the only book in your “Staff Recommends” shelf slot every time it gets returned.
Me: Yes, yes it can. Try and stop me.
My Co-Workers in January 2026: Okay. Halloween and Christmas are over. You have to pick something else for the shelf.
Me: *Nods sagely* Of course. I completely agree. *Places Go Luck Yourself on the shelf with the reverence of a devoted disciple.* This one will be my pick until at least May.
My Co-workers: Why are you like this?
Me: *Completely ignores them and strokes the side of the book* Don’t worry. I’m fully prepared to fight this fight until the third book comes out.
My Co-Workers in May 2026: Okay. It’s practically summer. You need to pick a different book series.
Me: *Vibrating with excitement at the news about the third book’s 2027 release date and 10 seconds away from pouncing on the next person I see and making them hear all about it.*
My Smartest Co-Worker to the rest of them: Just leave the book and back away slowly. I was here when she found out about the release of the last Simon Snow book. There’s no point in running. She’ll corner us all eventually.
Me: *Pounces*
