September update

Hello Tumblr, been a while, been a while! I can now proudly say that my name is now Kayla, legally and socially. The name and gender change requests have been approved, and I am currently working to change all of my IDs and accounts everywhere. Nearly 6 months into HRT. So much has changed already; my silhouette, my face, my skin; and it’s going oh so well. I almost don’t need to wear my breastforms anymore!~ I’ve starter laser hair removal on my face. It’s expensive, hurts like Hell and has proven to be semi-efficient thus far; but I am only on my second treatment, so I can only wait for the next, as it is a very slow process. Damn you, strong facial hair.

Of course, dysphoria had to kick my butt a few times. After each treatment, I cannot shave, so I must watch as the hair I had gotten used to shave every morning grows back slowly. I had this feeling of regressing, even though it is but a huge step forward; the mind can be such a nasty thing sometimes.

I might have to shave it honestly...since the store I used to work at is now closed permanently, I have to look for another job. I am certainly not going to an interview with patches of beard... Regardless of that minor annoyance, everything is going well. I might even give some interviews and conferences in the future about my transition and how it is to be a trans girl in a town of rural Quebec.

May update!

Hello, hello, been a while since I wrote here. Got some thoughts to share, and some time to write them! So let’s get on with it! It’s been a month and a half since I began HRT. Already, I am feeling and seeing changes, both physically and emotionally (Had some random mood swings and such, lost some weight (probably muscle mass), etc). I am now myself about 99% of the time, the only exceptions being when I have to use my legal name for stuff since it’s not changed yet. But if all goes well, the name and gender change on my legal papers and ID cards will happen during the summer.

People around me are trying their best with pronouns and name. Most misgendering I get is accidental, and they correct themselves. So far I had little to no negative reception, even at work with customers; I couldn’t care less anyway. I am who I am, and I am assuming it fully at last. I will not be stopped by some narrow-minded individuals!

I’ve got a slightly bigger wardrobe now. The clerks in the plus size clothing shops I went to were absolute darlings and very understanding. I’ve even thrown out most of my male clothing; I won’t wear them anymore so...~ That’s all for now. I hope I can record a video for my next update.
