I'm imagining a world where RPGMaker somehow made it as the de facto codebase for software and you have to navigate your banking app by walking around in a huge room full of NPCs named "make deposit" and "make withdrawal" etc and there's loud as fuck stock music playing

there’s this term i coined in my friendgroup i call “the charizard effect” and it can apply to anything and everything, but it was born from me explaining my feelings about the pokemon charizard. the term is basically about how overexposure to something be it by corporate shilling or fandom prominence drives me away from really enjoying something bc i’m exposed to it so much against my will i become tired of it. it came to me bc i was ranting about how tpci does not, and cannot stop reinventing charizard, and how it is popular and obtusely included in almost every region, merch, etc in every way possible and it’s highly commodified.
i dont dislike the pokemon charizard, in fact i really like its X form, but i am exposed to so much charizard in my pokemon consumption that i cant be bothered to care for it in any more than in passing. this applies to a bunch of other stuff i’d otherwise be ok with, but i always just call this aversion phenomena “the charizard effect”
making this term has done numbers for me being able to concisely express how i feel abt something. like. its not charizard’s fault i feel this way, im sure i’d feel normal abt it if it was stripped of all this over commodification, but i cannot. hence the name
Dont be very woried about me since i deserve all of this
Here's my pickup line. Can you give your perspective as a woman?
Did you know that male seahorses give birth? Let's give birth to wonderful conversations.
Before you are two magic buttons. Button A: you will never have to clean your kitchen again (dishes are automatically done; floor swept and mopped; etc). Button B: you will never have to clean your bathroom again (toilet & sink & tub/shower cleaned and sanitized; etc) Which button do you push?
A
B
So many comments, many of them wise and all of them heartfelt, and yet nobody has thought to add ...
the fridge-freezer is in the kitchen. Not only are there dishes every day, not only are there food preparation surfaces of various kinds every day, not only are there crumbs and odds and ends that fall on the floor every day ... but the fridge-freezer is in the kitchen. The oven is in the kitchen, the food cupboards are in the kitchen, and above all THE KITCHEN BIN IS IN THE KITCHEN.
I mean, it's not like the bathroom is all sweetness and light, but seriously! Who in their right mind is choosing the bathroom?!?!?!?

- What did you even tell that artist?
- I wasn't...I didn't!!! I was simply trying to get Gabriel off our backs by-by planting evidence of our rivalry!
- Uh-huh
- I didn't think they'd draw me looking like a strongman!! Or...or quite so hairless...
-That is a shame...
tedependent you're so special to me. what do you mean trent's relationship with ted is a perfect example of a crush that absolutely cannot be acted upon. that his literal job is to dig into people's lives and judge their choices, and he falls for a man who gives people second chances and spends his life covering up his own problems with positivity. what do you mean trent liked ted from the first time they met in the press room, that ted knocked his walls down so profoundly it changed trent's whole career path and behaviour as a person over several years, to the point of quitting his job as a reporter. what do you mean ted made trent feel special and trent made ted feel normal. trent is the epitome of being a person who is "too much" and hides it behind seriousness until it all comes spilling out, and ted is the epitome of being a person who exudes muchness to hide the fact that he's filled up with grief. what do you mean you can see the moments when trent bares his muchness to ted - in the book feedback scene in season 3, trent exposes his whole self to ted and ted responds with vulnerability, but his brand of vulnerability is his depression and his sadness and his unsureness, and that feels like rejection to trent. what the fuck do you mean by that.
