sick of streaming platforms' blatant disrespect towards the sanctity of the "watching end-credits while collecting your thoughts" ritual
This is an open letter to streaming platforms that have that super quick “and now we’re going to take you immediately into the next episode unless you press this button within 3 seconds” rule. I have no problem with this if all that show is giving me is credits, but when there are additional scenes DURING the credits, just assume that I want to watch that. Disney+ and U have recently both p*ssed me right off with this nonsense. Because if you don’t get to the button within what genuinely feels like 2.5 seconds, you’re not seeing that end credit scene unless you go back into the episode, which has already re-set back to the beginning, and then you have to fast forward through the whole show just to watch that 10 second additional scene. Makes me mad.
"It's a fairytale, but it's not really just a fairytale. It's a fairytale for adults. There's a satirical edge to it. But what runs through the core of the story of The Princess Bride is true love, which is a fairytale notion, but I believe that at the core of any good relationship between a man and a woman is true love, even in living in a complex society of the 80s where relationships are not easy and they're not simple. If a relationship is going to work and have any kind of longevity, there has to be some core of real, true love there, and I believe those things." — Director Rob Reiner talking about "The Princess Bride" in an interview with CBC in 1987.

Minneapolis comic bookstore owner Greg Ketter.
He owns Dreamhaven Books and Comics in Minneapolis and has done since the late 70s. Well worth the visit if you're local.
Their website is currently down from the sheer amount of traffic hitting it and Greg has said after they catch up with the online orders he's going to rest up for a bit before they get things back online, but for anyone outside of Twin Cities who wants to have a browse, their ABE books and Ebay where they post rare/collector items are still up.
