… I stole my name from my own oc.
I had a whole story built and written right before I became LadyMilkyway since I had found the game in physical form that summer (2018 dude…)
My OC/self-insert had a doggy named Lady Ruby in tribute to the Royal family (United Kingdom, not in game)’s rubies?? (I can not remember for the life of me how I ended up with this—). And the only reason she had a dog is because I WAS PLAYING NINTENDOGZ AT THE TIME TOO.
Then I think my OC took the Lady name, and because I wanted her to represent me for a bit, I also took the name, especially since it’s a title too
AND I ENDED UP NEVER POSTING ABOUT IT. AND I STUCK WITH LADY EVER SINCE. WELP.
If I ever find those drawings I will definitely post them because they are very dear to me. I wish that game had a bigger fandom and love… weh…

[Warning: Even though i'll try to make this as neutral/open as possible, this is still catering more to my ship/story and it can vary in terms of OOC to fit the AU vision! MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS]
For those who don't know Princess Debut:
It is a rhytmn otome game that came out in 2008/2009 on the DS. The "you" from an alternate universe bursts into your room and begs you to take her place in her world because she HATES dancing and a ball is coming up. You then enter a magical world where you'll be able to romance 5 (7... actually...) princes who will then become your partner at the Royal ball.
In the game you can unlock accessories as you progress and you'll obviously have to do dancing minigames! Your dialogue choices are also very important for each route! And you only have 30 days (*￣▽￣)b
Since the game takes place in an alternate universe, where counterparts of people you know live, each guy also have their own versions in your world!
I like to imagine that the "real world" counterparts are the guys from my Reverse AU!
This game was my CHILDHOOD and my very first Otome, I already dipped into making a PD and BB AU but I kinda forgot everything... so now I'm gonna do it again!

Protagonist
The player, obviously (also refer to as Sabrina by default). You play as a regular school girl who one day will meet your counterpart from another world so you can take her place!
- Even though the game gives you dialogue options, the MC is kind, enthusiastic and can have a bit of an attitude, but also deeply cares about those around her.
- Your counterpart on the other end, is a bit more whiny and selfish and doesn't really think things through. If you come back to your real world at the end, you discover she destroyed your good grade record! Not only is she bad at dancing, she's terrible at studying too...
It can either be your oc, Marshmallow, or- since I'm writing this- ME! I kinda of kin Sabrina but no surprises there, I'm sure...
Kip
The real princess' royal advisor who has no choice but to accept her "masterplan" despite trying to decipline her! They will then become your own advisor during your stay!
Obviously Kip has to be Q-bae, can you imagine them with a cute little wand and all??
Tony
Tony is your dance instructor who can magically turn from small bunny form to tall and majestic! If you are single/do not have a partner during dances, he will step up.
If you stay single throughout the entire game, Tony will also dance with you at the Royal Ball. You will then find out he was a cursed prince this entire time, and winning the competition is what broke it!
WHO BETTER TO BE THE BUNNY MAN OTHER THAN NIMH?
While the image of anthro Nimh can be a little cursed, I think it's definitely something I can get behind.
I'm pretty sure Nimh sees his heart condition as some kind of curse, so i'm going to use this as my link! What if that's the reason he got turned into a rabbit in the first place? What if a witch made fun of him for being a "scared little rabbit" and cursed him, so he would build confidence and body strength overtime through dancing?
We don't know much about Tony in general, so the ideas can be endless with Nimh!
As an instructor, he'd be able to do every kinds of dances, but to go easy on his heart, he'd appreciate the slower ones way more.
Vince
Prince Vince is one of the first choices in the game!
He is a prankster, stubborn and pretty childish. He too can have an attitude and buttheads with the MC, but he is just doesn't know how else to show his affection. He does confess his love pretty often to the MC once they get together. He is really sweet at heart and it's hard not to melt...
His little thing is that he wraps a small thread/ribbon around the MC's finger, like a promise ♥
I debated over this one between Scale and Aki, but ultimately, I think Aki fits the slot better. As a prankster who isn't shy from showing his love to you, his hand squeeze gesture also sells it to me!!
Prince Aki would definitely be into the fun kinds of dances!
Luciano
Prince Luciano is the introverted prince with a terrible sense of direction... and a tsundere. He is prone to lashing out if you call him out on his mistakes... He is a professional dancer from a young age, but makes it clear he despises it (he just lost the motivation and will...).
His route is one of the hardest to get, as he needs a few requirements in order for him to be your endgame. (Every choice you make MATTERS.)
-> Luciano has to leave at some point. If your requirements aren't met or you get another partner, he straight up DOESN'T come back.
-> However if he does, he will promise to never leave you again.
DO I NEED TO EXPLAIN MYSELF. DO I NEED TO?
Maybe I project a lot onto Volks' backstory in my own, so I may be refering to it here, so BEAR WITH ME.
Not only do they physically look similar, and act similar, but Luciano's japanese name is Hayato Inugami (this is my delulu speaking) but both have a strict aversion to something. While Volks doesn't have an aversion to his job as a model like Luciano does with dancing, but both don't exactly reciprocate affection until they warm up and get attached to the MC.
I'd like to think that Volks as a prince, would try to fight the royal orders (his dad's orders) to go home, but ends up obeying anyway. But then he'd fail the World cup, and his mother sees how much being with the MC means to him, so she allows him to quickly go back to her again. I don't think he'd get lost like Luciano, but he would be TERRIBLY distracted by everything (like a dog on a walk)
Prince Volks is used to pushing himself further and is most comfortable doing the complicated dances.
Cesar
Prince Cesar is "le joli coeur" amongst the visiting princes. He's flirty with all the pretty ladies (though I wouldn't be shocked if he flirted with men too... even if he denied it...), he's incredibly whiny, a bit full of himself because he KNOWS he's pretty, and an ABSOLUTE drama queen. He is the embodiment of a wet cat. He is obsessed with beauty, but it is due to him losing his sister, who collected pretty things and taught him how to dance.
And Cesar does deeply care about the MC, despite all his theatrics.
I had Haru and Stirling as candidates, but neither are as WHINY as Itharion is.
I don't think anything with Prince Itharion would change, but he would take the MC to go see the stars at night after dancing...
Prince Itharion would like the more graceful dances, the ones where he can dip you like the princess you are...
Liam
Liam is one of the sweetest princes around; he's not pushy, he's respectful and has an incredible knowledge of flowers. He deeply cares and worries about his sister, who is currently sick back in his kingdom. He talks... A LOT about his sister, but this is a detail I am going to rightfully ignore. None of that in my house...
Otherwise, I think Xianyun fits him best. Ren was gonna kill me for wanting to make it Cole but I prefer to live--
Xianyun is one of the softest BB guys so he does fit into Liam's place pretty well, but IDK about giving him a sister... maybe Xianyun could be the one sickly through most of his childhood and now feels incredibly lonely and is awkward making connections? Or how much he believes into fate and meeting the MC? And he'd never shut up about it?
Their knowledge in their respective fields also helps into putting Xianyun in this spot, but maybe we can mix these two? Flowers and antiques? That could link the lily flower to the two...
Prince Xianyun would also enjoy the slower dances more, as long as he can hold onto your hand and close to him...
Klaus
Klaus is the most popular prince of the bunch, with a fiancé, a fanclub following him around... He is the real princess' childhood friend, which is really important in order to get his route. He is THE hardest guy to get if you're not careful.
He's perfect; he's handsome, he is good at dancing... but is that all there is?
Klaus is a little dense and oblivious, he is the only guy who will never find out the MC is not the actual princess. He believes he and the MC are destined.
There are no good candidates in my opinion to match Klaus, but if someone had to look endgame, it would probably be Logan? Logan is also a perfect guy in appearance, the perfect caring boyfriend who loves what he does. Also... hunk prince, anyone?
Prince Logan would probably look perfect on the outside, but to me, it's because he only mastered one type of dance with his current fiancé/partner, because he might be a little clumsy. I'd imagine his fiancé lashes out one day and breaks things off because the perfect image she had of Logan shattered. But with the MC, he could stop blaming himself for making mistakes. Hence why he wouldn't have any preferences in terms of dances, he'd just be happy to learn more!
Kiefer
Kiefer is another special route you can unlock after starting a second playthrough!
He is quiet, analytical and prefers the company of books and trips to the museum to occupy his time. He can be quite cold, and tends to overthink most things, but he just doesn't understand the value of fun or how to experience it. He is also is considered pure of heart by the animals of the forest, and that's where you will train, away from prying eyes.
Fuyu could have fit, but to avoid clashing with Aki, I asked the council and we think Poe is the best fit! Cashew could be a good candidate as well, only if Cashew was cold in an awkward way, haha.
Literature, pure of heart, smart in their own way... While Kiefer is already good at dancing, Poe would be too but Cashew would fumble a little more. In the forest, birds would be the kind of animal to surround Poe while smaller critters become curious about Cashew.
Prince Poe or Prince Cashew wouldn't have a preference in dancing, maybe just something simple and straight to the point.
King Crown
The king doesn't show up much in the story, mostly towards the end. He ends up understanding his real daughter's goal in switching places, and allows the MC to stay anyway if she wishes to.
If I'm the MC, then William would be the king. Anyone else as the MC would get Mac.
Isabel
Isabel is one of the princesses you meet in the game. She is snobby, a liar and a troublemaker. One of your first meeting happens in a shop when you buy your first accessory, which she accuses you of taking from her. She even ends up stealing your crown at some point, but you eventually learn she is just terribly lonely and finds herself unable to make friends.
I thought Cassie would be an obvious choice for this one. As much as I do not exactly like Cassie as a character, I did warm up to her in Hush Hush, and their attitudes and actions are somewhat similar!
Lady and Cassie don't interact in my story at all, but it would be an interesting premise in this AU!

Me when I go through the tags or on social media and get shot 57 times because we've been through the generative AI stuff with SPS for months already and it should be over but it's not-
I made a whole thread about the original situation, with timestamps on my blog before ( See here )
So let me make a few points:
SPS' parent company are the ones using gen AI and I along other people have berated them for it. SPS AS A TEAM themselves do not use generative AI. If you've seen any gen ai ads for CC, I did yell at them through email about it and they said their parent company was responsible but they would talk to them about it.
When CC's mobile icon change, even SPS was surprised and explained their parent company did this. It recently just changed back to a regular girl sprite.
Artist Panda/Mio is unfortunately a stupid blond who was crazy misinformed when shit hit the fan. But just because SHE did used to learn the tool back when Gen AI wasn't a problem yet (think between 2021-2024, though I wouldn't be surprised if she used Grok at some point before the backlash) doesn't mean the rest of the team did, I follow and am mutuals with some of them and they are VERY anti gen-ai.
Mio's apology was ass in retrospect because she didn't make the difference between regular AI and generative AI clear. SPS uses regular AI like in their codes for bugs etc, but NOT generative AI. Absolutely NONE of the games had Gen AI used in their respective productions.
Her heart was and still is in the right place, but she should have absolutely talked with her team first and educate herself. I feel like most of them were not aware.
They never came forward about some of the ai pieces on their Twitter, but ever since the backlash I haven't seen a single thing so I think the point was made across.
Since then nothing's happened except a few scares from lingering paranoia. But usually there was an explanation lol (ex: their cc christmas picture was so distorted from compression it looked like AI, but then the actual picture was on Patreon in HD and I had to scream-cry at them to please stop compressing images so bad LOL)
Since I do follow their patreon, there was a post some weeks ago where Artist Panda felt upset someone accused BB of using AI for their backgrounds, so she uploaded some concepts and making-of of said backgrounds and even shared the artist's socials. It was super interesting!
I know there are people out there who will not let go of it, and I try to be understanding, but when you look at the times of said offenses, and remember the time context of when they happened, or the fact nothing has happened since Artist Panda's apology, I am just asking for people to give themselves a break and hopefully give SPS or at the very least BB a chance again. _(:3 」∠)_
Don't forget the rest of the amazing team who make the games just because of the CEO's actions.
Trust me, if they had doubled down, I wouldn't be here, and they wouldn't be collabing with a big figure in the online comics and Vtubing scene (coughs Merryweather coughs)
Holding Mio accountable WAS meant to happen, she did damage to SPS' reputation and she as well as the rest of the team are doing their absolute best to fix it and show their good faith. They got the consequences that were needed for what they've done / Mio has done, and now are facing the consequences of Generative AI paranoia on the Internet, so I'm sure the lesson has been more than learned.
I know I will be insulted and called a Dick rider or defender, but I need to remind y'all I have aggressively called out SPS and their fans for things before, constantly, lmao. Every day or week it was a different complain from me *WHEEZE*- so I am not putting my trust in them blindly.
I will not talk about this further unless asked (as long as you're not agressive about it), I just thought an update was necessary, cause this is just draining at this point....
You don't have to forgive, that's not what I'm saying. But to realize that, the situation is over (unless someone on the team decides to fuck up), and to let the rest of us who still play or still want the best for SPS do just that.
