Hi Would You Like To Talk To Me About Dinosaurs?
never bothered watching the movie but I feel this frame on a spiritual level
no no that’s a bop, i love it
“Woman!” cried I, somewhat tearsome,
“Who are you to stand so fearsome
With your wavy locks of auburn hair and eyes of emerald green?”
Quoth the woman, “I’m Jolene”
Ice delivery man in Houston, TX circa 1920 Check this blog!
why did he eat this
#the hip pop… the cigarettes in the hat…#how many kids from pre-electric refrigeration look suspiciously like this guy I wonder…#POV: You are a bored housewife whose husband is constantly away on business trips and barely looks at you when he gets home#and this guy is rolling up to your house on like a weekly basis with a block of ice and his WWI thousand yard stare
Historian finishing a dissertation on the ice industry here. For once, I am not here to take away your joy! “Oh no, the ice man is too sexy and he’s going to fuck my wife while I’m not home” was a legit moral panic for DECADES. So much so that if you were fancy, you could get an icebox built into your wall so the dirty, sexy ice man didn’t have to come inside your house with your delicate, impressionable wife. This pic is going in the diss if I can chase down the correct citation for it.
There are only three genders
This has been a PSA.
I’m trying not to reblog posts on this blog but I feel that this is important to post here.
on a related note:
And for the people asking “Well if you don’t support it irl then why would you like it in fiction?!” Because when it’s happening irl real people are suffering and dying and that’s horrible and I’d never want that. But when it’s fiction, when no real people are being hurt or killed, it’s interesting to explore the experience, the effects it may have, and to an extent experience the emotions involved without actually having to experience the horrible thing. You explore scary, dangerous things from a safe distance.
It’s the same reason I love disaster movies and don’t love actual disasters. I mean, if someone can’t intuit the difference between watching a movie like 2012 and yelling “cool!” when LA slides into the ocean and being horrified at the real life effects of global warming and the idea of millions of people dying as a result, then *I* am not the one with the problem.

fun fact about me is that when i was a kid id write capital E’s with as many of those little horizontal lines as possible and id call them ladder E’s and adults fucking hated them
artistic rendition
All capital letters should have a leveled-up form
So far I’ve got
ladder letters: A, E, F, H, T
humpback B’s and P’s get as many bumps as you think they need
circle O’s, you just keep spiraling in til you feel like you’ve made your point
tree letters branch into smaller versions of themselves ad nauseum: X, Y
spider Q’s, so many legs
Please add your own unsettling godtier capitals!
New alphabet dropped!
oh my god, it’s beautiful
(future handwritten notes are gonna be so wonderfully cursed now, thank you! :D )
well it’s going to take some getting used to, @ceekari (don’t mind the redacted letter between T and U)
But I think i’ve taken a real shine to it!
recursive
So i may have done a thing in an insomnia fueled jaunt into insanity.

This is how new alphabets get invented.
22 YEARS AGO ON DECEMBER 18, 1998 - DREAMWORKS ANIMATION RELEASED “THE PRINCE OF EGYPT”
Because DreamWorks was concerned about theological accuracy, they decided to call in Biblical scholars, Christian, Jewish, and Muslim theologians, and Arab American leaders to help the film be more accurate and faithful to the original story. After previewing the developing film, all these leaders noted that the studio executives listened and responded to their ideas, and praised the studio for reaching out for comment from outside sources.
The animation team for The Prince of Egypt included 350 artists from 34 different nations. Careful consideration was given to depicting the ethnicities of the ancient Egyptians, Hebrews, and Nubians properly.
Both character design and art direction worked to set a definite distinction between the symmetrical, more angular look of the Egyptians versus the more organic, natural look of the Hebrews and their related environments. The backgrounds department, headed by supervisors Paul Lasaine and Ron Lukas, oversaw a team of artists who were responsible for painting the sets/backdrops from the layouts. Within the film, approximately 934 hand-painted backgrounds were created.

Scrivener 3 and AO3: A Workflow
Hi! I write a lot of long fanfiction, and I write it in Scrivener! If you are a fellow Scrivener user, you are probably aware that getting your work out of the program can occasionally be a challenge, especially if you want to post somewhere like AO3, where what you want is text that has been lightly marked up with a small set of HTML tags rather than a full-on HTML document. My previous workflow for posting to AO3 from Scrivener involved exporting my work as an OpenOffice document, running Astolat’s OpenOffice conversion macros, and then (usually) manually checking the HTML to make sure everything was what I wanted anyway.
But now that Scrivener 3 has been released (currently Mac-only; Windows version forthcoming), the Compile system has been changed, and I am pleased to report that I now have a Scrivener Format for creating very basic AO3-ready HTML just by clicking the Compile button. For those of you who want to have one of these yourself, I will walk you through creating it.
This post seems to be getting a lot of reblogs lately, and it looks like Scrivener 3 was finally released for Windows, so in case any of you are Windows users upgrading to Scrivener 3 and wondering how the hell you’re supposed to get your words out of Scrivener now, this is a compile format I made for myself back when Scrivener 3 first came out for Mac. I’m still using it.
I have never reblogged something so fast in my life
it’s exactly what you think it is
it’s exactly what I thought it was.
It has been, 500 years.
