When she was just a child, the witch locked her away in a tower that had neither doors nor stairs.
Shahrzad al-Khayzuran and
Despina al-Sharif from @reneeahdieh “ the wrath and the dawn”
“I will personally beat senseless the first person to speak ill of you.”
Despina arched a dubious brow.
“Don’t sneer at me. I may be small, but, when pushed, I can strike out with a surprising amount of force.” Shahrzad sniffed. “If you don’t believe me, ask Jalal.”
“You struck Jalal?” Despina frowned.
Shahrzad shook her head, a smile playing at the edges of her lips. “Khalid.”
“What?” Despina gasped. “You … struck the caliph?”
“Across the face.”
Despina’s hand shot to her mouth, and a bubble of laughter burst from her lips.

I´d elaborate but a picture is worth a thousand words
when your mutuals all reblog the same post and you have to decide which one to give your reblog to
Imagine if Leigh Bardugo actually decides to kill of Inej in Soc 3 and it takes place during the ending of the book and right after her death scene is the last chapter which is Kaz’s, and all it says is: “Kaz Brekker no longer had a reason”.
Morning Doodle: "The king’s reputation could withstand a bit of scandal; it would not survive the truth. Zoya took a second flask from the pack and dabbed whiskey at her pulse points like perfume before handing it to Nikolai, who took a long swig, then splashed the rest liberally over his coat. Zoya ruffled her hair, let her kefta slip from one shoulder, and eased into the king’s arms. The charade was necessary, and it was an easy role to play, sometimes too easy." Leigh Bardugo's King of Scars Ch 2
The good thing about drawing these in order is that I learn a scene so well I can casually draw it freehand in bullshit curvalinear perspective lol
Fuck heteronormativity and straight couples on Disney animated movies but Tiana and Naveen, Aurora and Phillip, Anna and Kristoff , Jasmine and Aladdin, Rapunzel and Eugene have done nothing ever wrong in their lives
Have a tough week? Grab a drink, take a seat, and enjoy this indulgent-yet-plausible Sukka headcanon presented entirely in Star Wars memes…
(The internet has already overused this format anyway, so I’m going to be lazy and use it twice.)
“Suki, do the thing!”

Edit: Here’s the sequel to this post, but in Marvel memes.
Why I'm Afraid to be a Beginner in Front of Men
One of the things I hate most about being a girl is that I feel like there's a lot of things I'm not allowed to be bad at.
If I'm playing a guitar in a music store and I'm not very good, I'm going to be "another girl who can't play for shit, bet she doesn't even know what kind of guitar she's holding."
If I'm bad at a video game it's "why do girls even play games, they're always so bad."
I'm not allowed to just be a beginner at something, not if it's something women don't usually do. If I'm going to do a traditionally male dominated activity I have to hide my practice until I can be the absolute best, better than all the men. Or else I'm just another dumb girl who thinks she can do xyz, and I'm really, really, sick of feeling this way.
Honestly, most of the time no one even says anything to me. It's not like I'm getting insults hurled at me every time I pick up a skateboard, or pop the hood of a car. But I see it. I see the comments under videos of girls sharing their guitar progress. I see the way Car Girls™️ are treated by moviemakers as mythical beings, and how they always have to be the best mechanic around, or else they wouldn't have earned the protagonist's affection. I see the way women on Twitter can only win an argument about comic books if they happen to be a creator with enough pedigreed expertise to throw down some fanboy who would have otherwise never been silenced.
I'm tired. I'm tired of never wanting to try these things for fear of being a beginner. I'm tired of having this so deeply ingrained in my mind that no one has to sneer at me directly, because I can already picture them mocking me when I'm not looking. I know they're thinking it. I know I shouldn't care. I try not to. But that insecurity, it's built in layers, and maybe one day I'll be free of it.
"I'm so tired of girls thinking they know how to do this," they say, "why are they always so bad?"
Please, don’t joke about someone’s weight, facial features, insecurities, trauma, appearances, misery and scars. Know that those things are very sensitive. Please be kind always.
Morning Doodle: “Keep still,” she snapped. “You’re worse than a child given too many cakes.”
Bless her poison tongue. “You could stay, Zoya. Entertain me with lively tales of your childhood. I find your spite very soothing.”
