as a horror movie and DL enthusiast I have some headcanons abt the diaboys n their fav horror movies/series/tropes if they have any so uh here yall go😛🫰
(writing this while watching event horizon bc it's a banger and made me think of DL for some reason???? as everything seems to do for me nowadays holyyyyyy brainrot)
Bros a pussy but would never EVER admit it, so he'd honestly just force himself to sit through any horror movie😭 I can just imagine the movie nights where he swears he'll have no problems w the movies n then continue to crawl up behind a pillow,,,,or yui😛☝️ so no ultra extreme horror gorefests for this guy !
Anyways I DO THINK he'd like a couple movies! if he'd stomach them,,,,, So for the ones I think he'd like:
American Psycho (2000) - tho he'd prolly misunderstand the meaning behind it and just see Bateman as this alpha dude💀
The Meg (2018) - bro would be going off on how he'd kill the shark w his bare hands trust
Jennifer's Body (2009) - ik this guy loves Heathers and Mean Girls so he'd prolly enjoy this one - we all know he is a lil diva at heart
Likes: Lighthearted-esque horror movies with comedic elements ! basically the tip-of-the-iceberg movies that you watched as a teenager☝️
Dislikes: Psychological thrillers & body horror. This guy would NOT stomach movies like Martyrs (2008) and Speak No Evil (any version ngl💀)
Probably wouldn't mind a couple horror movies here and there, but I can't see him actively seeking them out either🤔 I have some feeling he'd really appreciate some artsy erotic ahh movies, while also enjoying some camp ! (him n ayato would have monthly Jennifer's Body viewings I just know it,,,,)
Nosferatu (2024) - gothic-erotic artsy vampire movie??? count him in. Except for the fact that he'd think the way humans portray vampires is a lil funny I can 100% see him enjoying this like crazy
Crimson Peak (2015) - Yet again a gothic movie with gorgeous setting and beautiful clothes focusing on relationships, mystery and the ghosts in your past,,,, do we see the vision or not ☝️
AHS Hotel (2015) - Lady Gargar and sexy horror vamps in a hotel,,,, cmon guys this one is self-explanatory
Likes: GOTHIC HORROR ! the blend of eroticism, darkness, poetry, fashion and horror would be right up bro's alley (also extra shoutout to The Craft (1996) it's too cunty not to mention, he'd prolly like it)
Dislikes: He would hate It Follows (2014) and we all know why💀 not a slasher or cheap jumpscares typa guy ! would probably also hate family-centered movies like mother! (2017) and Hereditary (2018) simply bc uh,,, mothers🫰
He's a freak. We all know it. We all see it. He wouldn't call himself a horror fan - or a fan of anything tbf, lil bros a hater - but would only end up watching obscure, gross, body horror-ish movies anyways💀
probably wouldn't be phased or scared of anything (which would probably be why he'd say he isn't a horror fan??? bc he's not rly scared of anything???😭) but instead intrigued by the torture the poor cinematic souls go through🥀
May (2004) - Frankenstein-esque movie w a socially incapable main character? this one might be about him I fear😔 as much as I love May and despise Kanato I cannot deny he'd enjoy this one
The Human Centipede (2009) - Yeah. Next.
Antichrist (2009) - I hate Lars von Trier and Antichrist. I hate Kanato. They'd love eachother.
Likes: Body horror in the sense of humans frankensteining unwilling victims together😀 could probably enjoy some normal slashers, torture porn and scream queen-movies too. As long as women are tortured and blood is shed, all is fine !😍🫰
Dislikes: Psychological/commentary movies. As funny as it would be bc of his love for body horror, he would NOT enjoy The Substance (2024). It'd be too crude, sexual, freeing & socially critical for this guy - his victorican child looking ahh could not comprehend it
Big believer in elevated horror right here. Wouldn't be watching horror movies especially for the thrill of the spooks, but for the "high-class experiences of the troubled mind and body" *bLerGh* would be the typa fan to watch in-depth analytic videos of movies, but ONLY the ones he deemed good enough. You'd never catch this guy watch Terrifier or Child's Play😔
The Substance (2024) - LMAOO direct opposite of Kanato right here ! Social commentary, lots of symbolism and experimental drugs, what else does this man want in a movie😍
Sleepy Hollow (1999) - def not as filled w commentary, but it tells a mystery and story with a refined gothic vibe as no other movie ! mans would enjoy a great meal and cup of tea to this one I just know it
Carnival of Souls (1962) - old movie perfect for a rainy day ! he'd be interested in the way it portrayed Mary's deteriorating psyche and mystery surrounding it, especially w the artsy aspects☝️
Likes: Tim Burton😍 and anything that isn't too dark or extreme while still providing food for thought and a clear purpose to the film's making ! Reiji doesn't believe in drowning yourself in horror & depravity as enough exists in reality anyways and isn't productive
Dislikes: Gore, tasteless nudity, violence & profanity. Reiji's got a refined taste and that reflects the movies he watches☝️ pointless horror movies that live off of shock value simply wastes his time🥀 (bro doesn't know what fun means)
Not really a movie guy in general, and is probably pretty indifferent to horror. I can see him enjoying a couple movies, but mostly just "fun" horror movies - kinda like Ayato except he wouldn't be as bothered by the scares (as long as they aren't clown-centered💀🙏) and uh,,, bros a lil perv🫰
The Perfection (2018) - would probably be a lil too dark for this guy's general preferences, but the eroticism & classical music involved in the story'd make it interesting for him ! Also it's lwk batshit insane so yeah fun watch😍🙏
Elvira: Mistress of the Dark (1988) - Had to mention this somewhere in this post and who else would enjoy a goth baddie doing goth baddie shit more than mr lazyass (maybe ayato but hey🫰)
The Omen (1976) - Classic & lighthearted horror for a guy that puts no effort in his life😋 also he'd probably imagine younger Reiji as Damien aka the hellspawn himself😭🙏
Likes: Shu's a simple guy, show some tasteless nudity and violin solos here and there and he's good to go - at least until it bores him😛
Dislikes: as long as there aren't any clowns or the movie forces you to think too much he'd probably be fine w anything horror-wise - the problem would just lie in keeping his interest and focus up💀
Here we have the true horror fan of the family ! He might be a lil edgy n all, but his taste wouldn't be as tasteless as Kanato's💀 Subaru's watching would be slightly self-indulgent, using horror as a way to cope w his anger and teen angst - while probably also enjoying the art form🫰
Horror movies are a fun and easily accessible form of entertainment, and I imagine this guy is the perfect demographic for most things horror😛 tho he'd probably have a lil extra love for the angsty and existential flicks instead of the cheap and gorier ones (i might or might not be projecting here,,,,)
Martyrs (2008) - Being a bit more tolerant to the gore n depravity of the horror genre, I can totally see this guy finding enjoyment in the pain and suffering that is Martyrs☝️ personally I see the movie as dealing w grief in a very destructive way and yk,,,,,if the shoes fits,,,,,,
Possum (2018) - Again darker n slightly artsy horror movie w angsty messaging and allat😛 loved this movie when I was in my edgy era so hey,,,,,subaru,,,,i'm not projecting whaaaaat,,,,
Funny Games (1997) - Anger, despair, 4th wall breaking, deconstruction of the genre, gore & great acting whoaaaa any big horror fan's ultimate movie whoaaaaa,,,
Likes: Probably likes most horror, can find enjoyment in most genres and so on so on😛 Reiji would probably try to lecture him on trying to find other, more "productive" genres - which would end up in him getting a "you just wouldn't understand me mom,,, i mean Reiji,,,"
Dislikes: atp im just describing myself so uhh idk self-indulgent r*pe revenge movies written by men and tryhard artsy "elevated horror" ahh movies😍🫰 no but seriously I don't think he'd enjoy too comedic movies like Final Girls or what I'm assuming the upcoming Cold Storage is gonna be😛 horror gotta stay spooky guys😔🥀
ok its 3 am now I started writing this at like half past midnight my brain has officially ran out of juice but hey I love dialovers and I love horror and I don't think anyone has done exactly this before (ples correct me if im wrong😍😛) so uh yes here yall go lmk if yall like it😍
