One of the key differences between Lapis and Jasper is that Lapis has a support network to help her heal. Jasper doesn’t, she’s all alone.

I wrote this post 2 days after Alone At Sea aired. 

Since then we’ve met the Famethyst, Beta and Holly Blue Agate. We’ve heard Jasper scream about what Rose did to her colony, her planet, her Diamond. 

And, most recently, we’ve heard the creator of the show talk about how Jasper hates herself. A fact that has been glaringly obvious to anyone looking at Jasper as a “complicated character” instead of the villain she often gets mislabeled as.
