On February 26, the FCC is going to decide if the internet should stay free and fair, or if it should be handed over to the cable companies.
You don’t want them to pick the cable companies.
Join everybody on the internet to help the FCC do the right thing.
The Internet shouldn’t be run by a cable company, nor should it be run by the government. The Internet should be run as it always has been, in a decentralised and open way. The FCC does not have the power to decide if the Internet should stay free and fair, except in whatever way they might have to try and take it away.
Fuck the FCC and fuck the US government. Look at the record the US government has in protecting free speech and ask yourself if this organisation should be charged with protecting what we have access to. If you think they should, ask yourself what incentive such an organisation really has to protect the Internet? What incentive does an FCC member or a politician have to decline a bribe from a company that wants to expand its control?
If you think that your cable company has too much to control the Internet, it’s more than likely that’s because they’ve used the government to create an oligopoly. Giving the government more power cannot help that situation.
