Gavis Bettel (Holostars)
Hugh Morris (Tomodachi Life)
Muppet Joker (Tumblr)
Timeline of Gavis Bettel in the Tumblr Sexy Jester poll bracket
March 31
Tumblr user @sexy-people-contests-2026 posts the first round of their tumblr sexy jester/clown poll bracket. Entries were collected via community form, in which a user submitted vtuber Gavis Bettel.
April 3
Cover Corporation (parent company of Hololive Production) announces that they are downsizing their male vtuber branch, Holostars. Company support is almost entirely pulled from their 12 Japanese talents. Fans of their 10 English talents worry that they could be next on the chopping block. A larger discussion on how these talents are marketed by the company also begins.
April 7
Bettel wins his first round against Laughing Jack and moves onto the next round. In this next match up he is put against Shadow Milk Cookie from Cookie Run Kingdom.
April 8
Gavis Bettel hits 200k subscribers on YouTube.
April 9
Twitter users are made aware of the poll. Users start coming back to their old tumblr accounts or create new ones to start voting for Bettel.
April 10
Bettel becomes aware of the poll.
He also becomes a popular pick for people who are mad at the writing decisions made in Cookie Run Kingdom.
People also start making joke ship art between Bettel and Shadow Milk (bettelmilk)
April 15
Bettel wins the second round and moves on to round three.
In this round he is put against Pomni from The Amazing Digital Circus.
He talks about the poll bracket on his Week in Review stream and admits he has never used tumblr. Viewers inform him of classic tumblr memes and stories. He also asks the social media team from Bandai Namco America (they often appear in his chat) to get on their defunct tumblr to vote for him (they can't access the account).
April 18
Bettel has an unarchieved karaoke stream to celebrate 200k subscribers, the runner of the of the polls tunes in.
April 19
The official Holostars EN twitter and Instagram accounts make ominous posts about the poll since they are unable to directly link to it due to company policy.
April 20-21
Bettel makes one last rallying cry to see if he can get people to vote for him. He receives endorsements from other vtubers including Elira Pendora, Shu Yamino, and Yu Q. Wilson.
The illustrator for his vtuber model, Senzaki Makoto, also becomes aware of the poll and says she will draw him if he wins the bracket.
April 22
With a rally of support from across the vtuber fan sphere, Bettel is able to beat Pomni.
Fans jokingly say that this poll bracket has done more for advertising Bettel than his company has and also joke that it could save Holostars from further budget cuts. In the semi-final round he is against April from Monster Prom. The poll will end April 29.

since snap benefits are being threatened i wanna share the single resource i can atm which is the woman behind Dollar Tree Dinners. for years now she has consistently provided filling, healthy recipes that really push the envelope on good meals from dollar tree ingredients. especially since next month will involve lots of family meals regardless if you celebrate the holiday, people should be pleased to know she puts together videos showing how to make a holiday meal on a budget.

not to sound like a christian facebook mom but some of yall need to have grace in your hearts for the people in your lives or the people you pass once on the road and never see again like you literally need to stop assuming the worst of everyone and their intentions it is poisoning your brain. you can be careful and responsible without being a miserable person. it is possible i promise
you are a tar pit and you live this way because you choose to.
Also, if you're a jerk to others, the percentage of jerks you interact with will be higher than if you're not a jerk.
By being a jerk, you're actively making your life harder and less pleasant. This is because we're a social species, and we do this thing called "mirroring" usually unconsciously, so people tend to reflect the behavior you put out, back to you.
Also you can intentionally be kinder with people, and they'll be kinder to you.
We are a social species depended on cooperation to survive. Altruistic behavior is actually what's in our genetic past, far more than jerks.
A few years back, my comedian husband was at Cardiff Glee Club, waiting to perform. He's friends with all the staff there, so he was chatting to one of the glass collectors while the audience were coming in, finding their seats, ordering drinks to their tables etc
It was a busy night, and apparently the bar and kitchen were both running a little behind. Mid conversation , a woman strode up to Steff and his friend and aggressively said "I get that you're having a nice time, guys, but some of us are still waiting on drinks, so do you think you could do your jobs?"
Before either could answer, the bar manager materialised.
"Well, he's a glass collector and he's one of the acts on tonight," she said politely, pointing them out. "So, neither of them can help you. But I'm the manager, can I help?"
("I specified that," the manager told Steff afterwards, "because if she's going to be a dick, I'm going to waste her time by telling her why she's wrong and has just been stupid before I help her.")
"Yes," said the woman, now gearing up to get good and annoyed to compensate for her embarrassment. "We've been waiting for our drinks for over half an hour! This is ridiculous!"
"I'm sorry about that," says the manager. "We're super busy tonight, as you can see. What's your order number? I'll check its status."
The woman gave it. The manager looked it up.
"Ah," said the manager. "I see the problem - these were ordered twelve minutes ago, but there's currently a twenty minute wait, as you can see on the board. I'll see what we can do to speed it up, though, and we'll get to it as soon as we can."
The woman grumbled and left.
The manger put her one lower in the queue.
Five minutes later, a second woman from a different group arrived.
"Sorry, it's very possible I'm being a bother and you'll get to it soon," she smiled. "But I just wondered if there's an update on our order? It's been a while."
"I'm so sorry," the manager said, "we're super busy. Let me check for you... Yes, you're still in the queue. We'll get to you as soon as possible, shouldn't be long now."
"Oh!" says the woman. "No, no worries, I just thought I'd double check to make sure we hadn't somehow dropped off the system. Thank you!"
She left, and the manager put her one higher in the queue. When her order was made, the manager added an extra bottle of beer, and a little note that said "Sorry for the wait :)"
And I tell this tale because, the thing is... If this is typical behaviour, that first woman probably goes her whole life never quite being happy, never quite content, always missing out on free moments of human connection. By contrast, the second woman goes her life getting those little gestures, being seen that little bit earlier, having a slightly smoother time of things.
And neither probably even realises. In a thousand small ways, Second Woman has a happier time than First Woman, entirely down to their behaviour.
So yeah - act like a cunt to people, they'll repay you in kind. That's how it works. Your choice if you want that or not ig
love saying "question mark?" out loud when I'm talking about something i'm unsure of
The queen of dubious Hollywood plagiarism cases is Sophia Stewart. She's the woman who The Matrix and The Terminator were stolen from, if you've heard that legend; she won a billion dollars and her victory over the studios was so big it was only ever reported by...the college paper of Salt Lake Community College. In truth she didn't win the case, she won the right to not have it dismissed, which it eventually was when she failed to show up.
Like, she wasn't claiming The Matrix and The Terminator were stolen from her work as a whole; she claimed they were stolen from the same story, even though the only real similarity they have is "robots destroyed the Earth and there's human rebels". How can this be? Well the story was unpublished in the 80s. But you can buy it now! ...but that version's from after she made her case, so who knows if it looks like the original. The Amazon reviews include a lot of glowing ones from people without avatars, and a lot of one star ones from people who seem to exist saying that it's more or less a plot outline and the majority of the book is just legal documents
But you don't have to dig into that bc she claims she sent it to a contest for story ideas run by the Wachowskis. In 1986. When they were not only not filmmakers, but a teenager and in college respectively. That's ten years before they made their first feature film, and she claims they were running a contest for story ideas in a national magazine she cannot name, even though she obsessively documents every other aspect of the plagiarism case. You literally don't have to look up any other facet of her argument: this one basic fact making no sense chronologically, and being the only element she can't produce, lets you dismiss the rest. The Wachowskis simply were not running national filmmaking competitions when they were in college
And yet! It spreads. It still spreads. When the fourth Matrix movie came out there were "Actually, the Wachowskis stole The Matrix from an African-American woman" reminders everywhere. It spreads on TikTok, Twitter, and even Tumblr. All from people who haven't actually tried looking up her story, and who are going off a Utah community college paper's misinterpretation that her slightly delaying losing her case was somehow her winning billions. It sounds good, and that's all that matters
Sorry for the belated reblog but this is actually one of my favorite aspects of this
See, the Utah community college article, when it's shared now (usually stolen & divorced from context) misgenders the Wachowskis, and I've seen people call it out for that - "it sucks that the Wachowskis did this, but misgendering is wrong!"
But the misgendering and deadnaming isn't a clue to transphobia - it's a clue that the article is old. Specifically from 2004, before either of them came out as trans. If they linked the original page people could see a datestamp, but it spreads timelessly as a copy/paste job. In the absence of that information, understandably, a lot of people's first assumptions is that it's knowing shittiness.
A fair few people do sadly shared Sophia Stewart's story for transphobic reasons, though
