Top Gun: My Tribute to ‘Maverick’

I’ve said it before that Top Gun: Maverick has owned my entire summer–and my heart and soul. Now that TGM is imminently leaving the theaters, I feel I need to join and contribute to the fandom while I can. I began this piece over two months ago as a tribute to my favorite character Pete “Maverick” Mitchell, with some of my most beloved relationships of his–dear Iceman, Rooster, and Goose, who I couldn’t fit in–maybe next time (if anyone would like it)?

Thank you for an amazing summer, Mav! I hope we will see him and all of the pilots again one day. Please join me in manifesting Top Gun 3. (╯˘ -˘ )╯

My first foray into the TGM fandom! Top Gun has been my life this summer, and I’ve enjoyed revisiting both movies! It still tickles me that the little kid whom Mav carried around in the original movie grew up to be this massive hunk of a man, so I wanted to portray this contrast.

MDZS Mulan AU Part 1: A Girl Worth Fighting For

I’ve had this idea since a couple of years ago when the live action Mulan came out, and I plan on moving forward with it this year (I have several ideas).

Also because JC is the biggest mama’s boy. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

Wow, thank you for getting this set (almost) to 2k! I am grateful! ༼☯﹏☯༽ I seriously thought my tumblr was dead in the water for so long, but I’m glad that people were able to find this entertaining. I am continuing this MDZS Mulan AU series this month, so please stay tuned!

(Also, I may be posting my first HuaLian tonight, since I am going to eventually get into TGCF so I hope it won’t go too terribly. *prays* I am going to be more active in the tumblr danmei streets, so long as there are people around who are here to see it.)

I have a deep, profound, aching sadness for having missed out on the most active part of the MDZS/CQL fandom due to depression and, honestly--the lack of technical ability to achieve the art stuff that I wanted.

And now that I think I’ve improved enough to be able to draw much of what is in my head, the fandom is sort of dead now on tumblr. :( (Or maybe people have unfollowed due to lack of activity, which is understandable.)

Nonetheless, I have a lot of finished art that I have yet to post, so I will be doing that in the future. This fandom is the only place I’ve ever been able to relatively call home on the internet, and I’m grateful for it.

(Unlike twitter, I’m fairly confident that tumblr posts don’t just completely disappear in the wind due to algorithmic randomness which is good, but I also haven’t used this blog consistently in two years, so I feel the need to make this post. See you again in a few hours!)

As it turns out, the editing process is taking a lot longer than expected, so I won’t be posting today. Nonetheless, I do intend on posting art in the future (I finally have a decently extensive backlog of completed pieces), so if you are, thank you for continuing following this blog! <3

Hi (good news)

I’ve honestly avoided posting art on here for a while because I hadn’t managed to find a consistent posting schedule, but I plan to be back towards the end of this year or the beginning of 2022! I’m still drawing MDZS/The Untamed! (I know both the donghua and live-action have ended, but it will never be over for meeeee + I have three years worth of drawing ideas I aim to realize in the imminent future.) I definitely am open to drawing more works of danmei as I discover them, as well.

(Also, I do not allow reposts of my works, so if any of my art has been floating around not sourced to me, then I have never authorized that, and that really sucks. >.<)

In all, if you are reading this: thank you so much for sticking with me if you’re still here! I promise more things will be coming. :)

I had hoped I could come back with better offerings, but it seems that isn’t the case. :(

I don’t know what has been wrong with my art. It’s been doing terribly, to say the least, hence why I haven’t been posting because it’s just humiliating to do so. I don’t think my sense of aesthetic has changed, but just........nobody likes anything I draw anymore. It’s horrific to have spent sleepless nights on something, only to have an absolutely abysmal response to it.

I had really, really wanted to try to “restart” my creativity with the TGCF donghua (I haven’t read the novel, either, so I was looking forward to getting to know these characters, the story, and such), but I can’t bring myself to do so while my art is still just so pathetic. I’m trying to tell myself that the worst-case scenario is that I don’t ever get around to watching the TGCF donghua, but at least I can’t miss what I don’t know I’m missing out on, right?

I just wanted to post a note of appreciation to the followers I still have on here.

Despite being in the fandom for over two years, I’ve never been lucky enough to be a part of the more popular M*X*TX circles. I’ve never had the fortune of “going viral.” Every acknowledgment I’ve gotten has been thanks to the kindness of the few individuals who’ve stumbled upon my art on here, and I am incredibly grateful for it.

This fandom has overall been depressing upon my spirit, but I keep trying. It’s my birthday month, so I hope I can get at least something out this month that won’t be an utter failure. I can only hope.
