Danny couldn’t help but laugh at his man’s reaction to his words, leaving the teasing alone when his boyfriend shuffled closer, he let his arms down wrapping one around his man to make him feel more secure in the car they were sitting in admiring the view for the few seconds that they were at the peak of the drop, his grip tight and protective on his man before they zoomed down the next slope smiling as he heard his boyfriend laughing, he couldn’t help but laugh with him, he kept his free hand in the air as they declined he was really having fun on the ride with his man.
He took his arm back from being around his man helping him with unbuckling of them both noticing the shakiness in his mans body, they both stood up he watched as his boyfriend stepped out of the car in such a careful manner, happily taking his mans hand when it was offered to him squeezing it softly as he stepped out of the car. he made sure to keep his boyfriend close as they moved through the stream of crowd moving towards the exit making sure that they didn’t lose his precious in the crowds.
Danny took the lead walking forward in front of his man slightly, making sure that he was still close to him by the contact of their hands being entwined together “I loved it babe, you looked like you were scared half to death precious. ” He mentioned as they both walked through the exit gate, once it was just the two of them he let go of his hand and moved his arm up to slither to lay on his shoulders.
“Let’s go on something more softer next baby boy, something that won’t scare you half to death. ” He said in a playful tone clearly teasing the other for clinging into the last ride for dear life, placing a soft kiss on his temple to let him know he was only teasing him “Maybe you can choose because I chose the rollercoaster and then we can have something to eat and try rigged as fuck games before going on the other rides? ” he suggested to him wanting the night to be fair and fun for the both of them as it was a date.
Even though the ride had long since ended and he was back on solid ground, Matt still felt the after-effects of the adrenaline. He was still slightly jittery but recovering by the minute, and it was the warm weight of Danny’s arm mantling on his shoulders that grounded him the rest of the way. Just like it always did, his boyfriend’s presence once again served as a reminder that he was safe, something that Matt knew from the very beginning when Danny half joked about pulling a switchblade on any potential assailant that tried to come for Matt, or more seriously promised that he would squish whatever unfortunate spider had found its way into the younger’s apartment. It was admittedly one of the more prominent things that attracted him to his man, made him look past the surface and dwell on what it might be like to call Danny his boyfriend versus… well, whatever he was back when the two of them had started sleeping together.
It seemed like it was so long ago that the two had first started tearing at one another’s clothes with a fiery passion that Matt hadn’t experienced up until that point. The almost animalistic possessiveness that surfaced when they fucked was always there even when the two of them were “just friends,” or so they thought… the goodnight kisses, cuddles, and doting looks begged to differ, though. Even though it was kind of unconventional, Matt wouldn’t have traded how their story began for anything.
The suggestion from Danny earned a quick nod from Matt’s head, his blue eyes panning across the fairground in search of their next venture. He had something in mind already, and it was evident that the cogs were turning in his mind, “I kinda wanna kiss you at the top of the ferris wheel,” he revealed whilst tilting his head to look up at the older, wondering what he thought about his idea, but not outright asking. It was definitely cheesy—something you would see in a typical romance movie, not that he cared by any means. Truth be told, he had wanted this type of love for so long, but never thought himself worthy of it. Danny challenged those thoughts every day, though.
As if to give his man a fleeting taste of what it would be like to kiss at the top of the ride, he tipped his chin back and lifted a bit to connect their lips in a sweet kiss. As soon as it came on, though, it ended, and Matt was winding his arm around Danny’s mid back before gently tugging him in the general direction of the towering wheel. The sky was darkening but still light enough to illuminate the gorgeous sunset, and as they stepped into the short line, Matt could see that the numerous lights that lined the frame of the ride were bright enough to shine on his man’s gorgeous face. It was as though he was looking at Danny for the first time all over again, that the wind had gotten knocked out of him and it was just the two of them, even though in all reality there were a few ride operators and other carnival guests just a few meters away. “I love you,” he whispered, leaning their heads together after turning to face his boyfriend as opposed to standing adjacent to him, his arms soon after sliding up to twine around his taller counterpart’s neck.

Danny noticed the anxiousness in his partners body when he clicked the bar down, he pressed a kiss onto the top of his head in hopes of comforting the younger, he took his arm back and buckled himself up after watching his partner scramble anxiously, he was more excited then anxious he knew that once the ride started the anxiety that his boyfriend was feeling would fade.
He waited for the employee to finish talking feeling the ride start “It’ll be okay baby boy. ” he whispered to his boyfriend as he shuffled closer to him “This is gonna be fun ” he commented after he heard the ‘oh shit. ’ from his man. His eyes scanned the view from the top of the slope, all the lights during the night were distracting to him, he wasn’t as cautious as his man was he happily rose his arms up into the air noticing his man clinging onto the bar for dear life.
As they declined he was giggling and screaming, it’s always fun to have a good scream on a ride, he couldn’t stop laughing as the car zoomed into a twist, he moved excitedly as they quickly climbed the next hill and he was practically beaming that his partner was laughing now “See baby it’s not too bad! ” he said loudly so that his boyfriend could hear his words over the gusts of wind that you could hear as they whizzed over the tracks “You should put your arms up scary cat. ” he teased trying to encourage his man to not hold onto the bar like his life depended in it.
“It’s fun! ” he commented just as loud as his last sentences trying to get his boyfriend to relax and have fun while the ride twisted around a corner to approach another corner “Promise it’ll be okay babe and I’m here if you get too scared beautiful. ” he made known as they approached another drop.
Matt laughed hard at Danny’s reaction in contrast with his own— the older was loud and high-spirited while he himself erred more on the side of caution. Truthfully, it was kind of a mirror of their personalities; Matt tended to be reserved and soft-spoken sometimes to the point of coming off as rude while Danny was a social butterfly in comparison, befriending strangers almost everywhere he went. He supposed that that was one of the reasons that the two of them worked so well together. Danny talked, and Matt listened. Though there were silences sometimes, they were comfortable, and any time Matt felt as though something was worth voicing, Danny was quick to pay attention. Opposites really did attract in their case.
“No, I’m not trying to die,” he dismissed through a grin, elevating the volume of his voice so that he could actually be heard over the rackety sounds of the car climbing its track. His head ducked in a quick nod, and he huddled a little bit closer to his man as the car reached its peak, once again giving them a look of the grounds housing the carnival— they could see for miles up there. Not that appreciating the view was attainable, because soon after the car tipped forward and once again threw them into a drop, the g-force exceptionally powerful this time.
Matt was laughing still, occasionally looking over to survey his man, who seemed to be having the time of his life, while he himself still very much held onto the bar, albeit not as tightly as he had been at the outset. The car roared as it zipped around its track, eventually slowing to a crippling crawl as it approached the loading platform before stopping altogether. Filled with adrenaline, Matt felt a little shaky as the bar came up and he went about assisting his boyfriend with getting the buckle undone, the two of them standing up. Matt stepped out of the car just as carefully as he’d climbed in, and offered a hand to his love whose turn it was to climb out next.
Strings of people began to pour out of the gates after slipping out of their own respective cars, and Matt was mindful to keep a hold on Danny’s hand even once his boyfriend was out so that the two of them wouldn’t get broken up from one another as they found their way to the exit, Matt hanging back just a little bit so that his boyfriend could lead the way. “What’d you think, baby?”

Danny’s heart skipped a beat as he heard his boyfriends words, his cheeks tinting a pink colour giving his hand a squeeze back “i love you too precious. ” he gave the younger a kiss on his cheek to prove his words, he was thankful that they’d grown so close so fast he was often the type of person to fall fast and hard so he was happy his boyfriend didn’t mind the affection he gave him.
A smile appeared on his lips as he heard his partner guess where he wanted to sit a smirk replacing his smile as he nodded excitedly “Fuck yes! the front is the best. ” he responded in an enthusiastic tone, he tugged his boyfriends hand leading him to the front two seats and sitting down sliding his left arm around his boyfriends waist as he joined him.
“I can’t wait to hear you scream. ” Danny slid in with a wink so that the sentence had multiple meanings to them fully knowing that people we’re behind them he didn’t care about joking in a vulgar way, other people didn’t bug him in the slightest he didn’t have the energy to care about what other people thought he did enough of that when he was younger.
He then placed an innocent kiss onto his neck knowing it wasn’t the time to flirt in that sense with his man especially on a ride, he kept close to his man placing a loving kiss on his cheek before pulling the bar in front of then down securing them “Excited babe? ” he asked bouncing his leg, trying to create a conversation as he waited for the ride to start.
Matt was unsurprised when the older opted for the front and lead him there soon after, the younger of the two having no choice but to follow along courtesy of the hand clutching and tugging at his own. “I knew you were gonna say that,” Matt’s tone was tinged with levity as he joined his boyfriend in the car, his motions careful and calculated— he certainly didn’t care to get all tripped up and wind up in the hospital; how embarrassing would such a thing be, especially while on a first date? It would have been memorable for all the wrong reasons.
As he settled in, the nerves really began to hit him full force. He hadn’t been on a rollercoaster in... god, he couldn’t even recall how long, but every time was exactly like the first. There was no getting over the nerves that came as he thought about every possible negative outcome, but Danny’s touch pacified him with such ease, just like it always did. The suggestive comment that followed made Matt laugh a little, the wink not at all lost on him, and he offered an exchange of his own, the younger now entirely candor about what was on his mind: “Can’t wait for you to make me..”
The bar was coming down and Matt snapped to attention, all of the nerves that’d been effectively fought off by his man returning, albeit not as full fledged as before. Still, his current state was obvious as he lifted up on the bar to check for good measure, making sure that it wouldn’t budge at the most vulnerable moments. Matt’s hands scrambled to latch the buckle then, his motions quick as though he were afraid that the operator would start the ride at any second, even though that wasn’t at all within the realm of possibility. Anxiety could do that sometimes, though.
After a quick check from employees and some very typical “keep your hands and feet in the car at all times” announcements from the operator, the car lurched forward, the mechanics kicking into action as it started along its heavy steel track, making an immediate bee line for the first slope. Matt was a mixture of giddy and nervous as the car began to climb the track, and he found himself huddling a little bit closer to his boyfriend in an effort to self soothe. “Oh shit,” Matt called out as the car met the top of the slope and for the first time, the two of them could see how high up they really were. All of a nanosecond later, the car dropped forward and Matt hung on to the bar in front of him for dear life as the incredibly high speeds and the G-force knocked him around some. He found himself laughing all the way even so, the car recovering from the drop and proceeding to twist around to the next climb, but faster this time.

Danny fake pouted at his boyfriend’s teasing him but it wasn’t long until a smile replaced the pout on his lips as he heard his man talk again “No problem baby, it’s good to get out of our apartments. ” he spoke softly seeing the affection in his mans eyes, he gave his hands a light squeeze when Matt tangled their fingers together he loved how perfectly they fit together.
Danny hummed against his mans lips as he gave him small kisses they made him forget that they were waiting in a line he tugged Matt closer to himself pressing a kiss onto his forehead wanting to give his man affection back, he’d happily death glare or speak back to anyone who had a problem with them showing affection to each other.
“Hmm… I love your lips, they’re so addictive. ” he mumbled, pressing a sweet kiss on his nose and then a single kiss onto his soft lips keeping his man close as they moved down the line he was happy it wasn’t too hot he looked at his boyfriend with pure love and affection for his man, he moved his thumb pad around his skin in a soothing pattern.
He pressed another kiss on his mans lips to prove what he said was true, scattered small kisses over his face pressing a bunch on his lips before pulling away as he knew that his boyfriend was aware they were in public he wasn’t really one to be scared if giving his boyfriend PDA he didn’t really care about what other people thought about them he’d always give his man affection and love.
The words that his boyfriend produced caused his face to burn, and without seeing his reflection, Matt knew that he was likely beat red. It wasn’t exactly out of the ordinary for him when he was in his boyfriend’s presence, much less so when Danny was saying nice things about him, and this instance was exactly like all of the others.
“Well that’s good to know, I gotta keep you hooked,” he jested with a laugh, his heart jumping when his nose was kissed. He wasn’t at all sure why, but it was incredibly cute and not at all something he’d experienced much in the past. Danny wasn’t one to be shy about showing his affection, though— it was his main love language, and Matt had mentioned his appreciation for the fact numerous times over. In former relationships, he was sometimes looked down on or shunned for being too touchy feely— maybe not outright, but in the form of snide remarks or ‘playful’ jabs. He never felt ashamed with Danny, though; his boyfriend never made him feel as though he was too much.
Matt was keen on returning each of the kisses placed on his lips, getting a little greedy about them in the process. It became evident when Danny had his fill and moved away, Matt stubbornly chasing after his lips. He hummed as he stole a final kiss for good measure and, once he found that he was content, withdrew with a smile. “I love you,” Matt gave the older’s hand a squeeze as though it were a silent confirmation; he wanted Danny to know that he meant what he said.
Things had developed quickly between the two of them. The pair had began hooking up weeks ago, but feelings from either end couldn’t be curbed when the sex turned into all day cuddle sessions, trading little kisses, and confiding in one another. At first Matt was panicky about being so vulnerable to someone again, but Danny quickly swept him off his feet; he now found himself relating to all of the latest love songs and falling asleep with his phone in hand because he just didn’t want to stop talking to the person he’d fallen so hard for.
Soon enough, the line was shortening dramatically and the two were up next. Matt watched as the car was loaded and he wondered where the two of them might sit when the next one came. “Let me guess, you wanna ride up front?” The prediction was paired with a smirk— he knew his boyfriend and knew that Danny seemed to like taking risks, and daredevils always went after front row seats. It didn’t matter to him where they sat either way despite the fluttery feeling in his stomach, he was used to it anyways now that Danny was around.
attentionwhcre·:
Danny’s mind returned when his partner pulled his hand away from his, he watched as he paid for the two of them, he noticed his boyfriend rubbing his neck he slithered his arm around his waist giving him a light squeeze and a gentle kiss on his temple to try and relax his partner.
He grabbed the tickets when they were handed off to them and walked keeping his arm around his waist he gave him small kisses over his face as a thank you for paying for them when he wasn’t paying attention in the line, he didn’t want him thinking he wasn’t appreciative for him being so patient with him, he truly loved the man he was holding in his arm.
“Thank you, ” he whispered in his ear, just to make sure he knew that he was thankful for him stepping out of what he was used to doing, he didn’t care if people stared at them he would still press gentle kisses on his forehead, he moved his fingers soothingly in a pattern on his clothed skin walking in the direction of the rollercoaster they were talking about in the line, figuring that it’d be a fun place to start their night.
“If you get scared I’ll be right next to you. ” Danny smiled comfortingly at him bringing him closer with a light tug on his waist as they walked wanting him to be closer to make him feel comforted and loved even when they were outside of either one of their cozy apartments, even though he could get shy and nervous around his partner as he often got like this around his boyfriend as he actually cared about him and didn’t want to mess things up with the first person he’s loved in a while.
Just like that, the nerves seemed to melt away when he felt the warm weight of his boyfriend’s arm as it slid around his waist. It was a familiar feeling but one that hadn’t yet lost its novelty, and Matt was confident that it never would— the eruption of butterflies wildly fluttering about within his stomach were stubborn and made him weak but were always welcomed nonetheless.
The whisper that’d came about sent the tiniest chill down Matt’s spine, and he flashed a big, bright, Hollywood smile in his boyfriend’s direction, courtesy of the closeness between them. “It’s okay, baby,” the words were soft but at the same time loud enough to be heard over the buzz of conversation surrounding them. The grounds that the carnival sat on seemed to be chock full of people, the groups ranging from couples to families and teenage friends. Anyone looking at the two would have been able to tell that they were just another loved up couple on a date, and while Matt could sometimes be fearful about expressing affection to a lover out in the open due to the possibility of being on the receiving end of dirty looks or homophobic comments, tonight he just couldn’t find it within himself to care. Though it was plenty on the crowded side, all that he could see was Danny.
The smile seemed to be permanently posted to Matt’s face as his boyfriend attempted to comfort him with words and touch. “You’ll probably be screaming louder than I will,” he teased, poking fun at his man as the two of them closed in on the coaster’s entry point. The line was decently sized but didn’t look overbearing, and Matt was pleased with the fact that they’d waited until later in the evening to go— standing in the blazing hot LA sun would’ve surely put a damper on things.
“Thanks for coming out with me,” there was a glimmer of affection in his eyes as he turned some to face his boyfriend instead of standing alongside him. To make up for the lost contact, both of his hands sought out Danny’s, their fingers twining together in a perfect fit— it was as though they were puzzle pieces. Stepping forward, he leaned up and closed his lips over his man’s in a series of little pecks. He didn’t want to overdo it because they were in public, after all, but he simply couldn’t help himself; he wanted his man to feel loved.
attentionwhcre·:
Danny’s first instinct at the cotton candy comment was to laugh, he let out a small giggle, he did find that when it came from his mans lips it sounded so incredibly adorable and he loved the admittedly cringy sentence when it came from his mans lips. He followed his boyfriends steps quickening when his pace quickened and slowing down with him getting distracted by all the different colors of lights coming from the area.
“Fuck yes! ” he started his attention brought back to his handsome standing beside him, he started to fidget with the mans fingers, he wasn’t really one for waiting for… anything really so he needed something to entertain himself and the simulants of lights and the touch of his boyfriends soft skin was enough to keep him from whining or being annoying.
“I love rollercoasters, bet it’s totally dangerous as fuck too. ” he noted to himself forcing his attention back to their conversation as he didn’t want to get distracted “Do you wanna ride it baby? ” he asked innocently, in his mind he was clearly on about the rollercoaster but he was clearly waiting for the vulgar joke to come along.
He focused his attention on playing with his partners hand to keep him occupied as they slowly progressed in the line, he wanted to keep up with the conversation they were having and not dozing off in the middle of a sentence, it was such a bad habit but he was managing it not even flashing lights could distract him from the beautiful Artic blue orbs looking at him.
Hearing the positive affirmation from his man’s end brought about a roll of Matt’s eyes, although it was playful in nature. His taller counterpart was just barely older than him and yet ironically enough seemed to be the big kid of the two, not that Matt minded— he found it incredibly endearing, if he was entirely honest. It was one of the many things that attracted him to Danny to begin with; while Matt was normally cool, calm, and collected, Danny was the polar opposite, always making his presence known in some way or another. The two of them could get up to plenty of mischief together despite the contrast between them, as evidenced by past events such as riding around in golf carts while poor Alaska painstakingly third wheeled it or the pair having late night smoke sessions. There were lots of fond memories there and Matt was determined to make more.
“Girl, I’m not trying to have a Final Destination 3 moment here,” Matt stated flatly, amusement staining his face. It was a response to Danny’s comment about the danger of it all and a reference to the multi-death roller coaster scene that consumed the beginning of the aforementioned movie. That particular scene had haunted him for years, living in his head rent free and never failing to make an appearance when he found himself at an amusement park. Still, it wasn’t enough to turn him away from rides.
Hearing the question about riding caused Matt to raise his brow, and the tone seemed to shift, a smirk tugging at his lips. “I’d love to ride it,” his reply was suggestive— a double entendre, really— indicating that he had far more than just roller coasters on his mind. For now, though, it could wait.
Soon enough, the small group ahead of them had vacated the counter with tickets in hand, and Matt knew that it was their turn. Danny seemed distracted with... well, whatever he had gotten himself distracted with this time, and Matt felt the heat when it came to keeping the line moving. It wasn’t often (or ever, really) that he took the lead on dates, being a very passive person in everything that he did, so he was really stepping out of his comfort zone as he withdrew his hand from Danny and grabbed at his wallet. Making eye contact with the lady behind the counter, he voiced a ‘just two, please’ whilst distractedly sifting through his wallet’s contents for the appropriate amount of cash. Once he’d sought it out, he was quick to hand the bills over, putting his wallet away and idly rubbing at the back of his neck as he waited for her to hand off the tickets.
attentionwhcre:
Danny loved the flood of small kisses on his lips, feeling loved and the nervousness that had lurked in his veins from doing something so cheesy, his hands moving to cover up his face as his man noticed how pink he’d gotten on his skin “Shush… ” he muttered watching as his man sorted out a place for the flower he’d picked for him, knowing that him picking a flower for him was so special that he’d go and get a suitable place for it, a goofy smile on his face as he appreciated his man loving the small action he did.
“No problem baby. ” he smiled widely skipping forward as his boyfriend looked at him in a way to tell him to move, he was getting slightly distracted by the beautiful shades in the sky but once he felt his man tangle their fingers together his full attention was brought back to the pretty man walking beside him, he gave his hand a gentle squeeze just to comfort him figuring he was probably just as scared and nervous as he was.
Danny let out a small laugh as he listened to his mans words, he really couldn’t wait to fail miserably at every rigged ass game there he would obviously try his hardest knowing this just to win his man a toy just for something to remember their first night out together “It’s okay figured it’d be good to connect more and have more fun! Even if they are rigged you’re crazy if you think I’m not going to win you a rigged ass toy. ”
He smiled goofily at his boyfriend he couldn’t wait to get there and spoil his baby, he’d take him on any ride he wanted and buy him anything he wanted, he just couldn’t wait to bond more with his man throughout the night “I can’t wait to get all the sugary treats. ” he added his eyes never leaving his man just admiring him, he was keen on knowing what made his perfect, special man tic.
It was crazy to Matt how something as simple as a squeeze to his hand could comfort him with such ease. Then again, the man walking alongside him always seemed to do that. Just his sheer presence was enough to ground him, bringing him back to reality when his mind was running amock with self doubt and uncertainty. When the two of them crawled into bed together at night, all of the stressors that bugged him throughout the day were long forgotten; being in Danny’s arms, burying his face in his neck, and breathing in his scent caused whatever tension that stubbornly stuck around to melt away at an instant.
“Babe, I don’t even doubt you’re gonna be trying your hardest, you’re so stubborn,” Matt caught Danny’s smile and beamed brightly in return. The other’s smile was so incredibly contagious, as was his laughter, which was at some points loud enough to startle the younger. Still, he always found himself recovering quickly and laughing right along with Danny, unable to help himself. He just felt so incredibly in tune with his man and his emotions, so Danny’s happiness was his, and he was determined to make him feel that way always.
Matt wasn’t naive, though. He knew that relationships were work, that they required compromise and communication and a dash of forgiveness in the worst of times. He had been through hell and back over the years, felt as though he was shot to the moon with euphoria and then shoved to the deepest trenches of hell when he no longer had use to a supposed ‘soulmate’. At his very worst, he had spent literal days crying and feeling sick to his stomach while he desperately tried to dial his feelings back. The trust issues were all too real and he felt incredibly jaded, but still, he somehow managed to find it within himself to trust Danny. When he looked at the older, he knew that he would do next to anything to make things work. The two of them had been together for just under a month and he was confident that the bond would only get stronger as time went on. Of course the word ‘forever’ had long since lost value to him, but if it were at all possible, he wanted it to be with Danny.
“I’m here for cotton candy, but I still don’t think it’s gonna be as sweet as your kisses,” as soon as the flirt left his mouth, Matt internally cringed. Still, cringy was sometimes cute, right? He was able to shake the thoughts easily enough, his internal voice drowned out by traffic as they walked at a comfortable pace, holding one another’s hands, which Matt loved. It was such a simple gesture and yet so incredibly intimate. He didn’t even care who gawked.
Soon enough, the couple were encountering a crosswalk and, as soon as it was time, he led the way across, trailing behind a group of people who also seemed to be headed to the carnival. He was mindful to quicken his steps just in case some asshole sped out in front of them, his pace slowing as soon as their feet hit the pavement on the opposite side of the road. Screams could be heard and Matt looked up, catching sight of the set up awaiting them. Lights from the rides illuminated the area, and Matt looked over to gauge his boyfriend’s facial expression as they slowly made their way to the gates, the two of them joining the line to purchase tickets. “Do you like roller coasters, baby?” Matt wondered aloud, shifting his weight from foot to foot as they waited. “I was reading up on this carnival earlier and the site said they actually have the third largest portable coaster in the world.”
attentionwhcre·:
Admittedly, Danny was slightly nervous as he knocked onto his boyfriend’s front door— he hadn’t been on- or taken to any dates in nearly twelve months and honestly he was pretty anxious about taking someone so important to him out on a date, however when the door opened to reveal his handsome baby standing in front of him he couldn’t help the excited, giddy feeling that flowed throughout his body that replaced the previous anxious feeling in him.
An instinctive smile crept onto his lips as his eyes scanned his boyfriend’s appearance feeling like his heart missed a beat as his eyes scanned his partner’s choice of clothing admiring how everything just fit his personality perfectly “Hey precious, “ he replied, his arms slithering around his waist as his boyfriend brought him into his embrace returning his sweet kiss that he left on his lips.
“ ‘m good to go babe, are you?” he asked pulling back for a second his hands moving to his back ripped-jean pockets his right hand finding the flower he’d got distracted by on the way there but grabbed it because it was pretty just like his man, he watched as he collected his key’s and wallet and placed them away, his peach cheeks being invaded by a red tint as he heard his mans words “Thank you baby, you look so pretty… “ He started, grabbing the pink petaled flower from his back pocket and took it out before he forgot about it.
“Speaking of pretty, “ he started presenting the flower he’d picked for his boyfriend as he thought he’d like it and it reminded him of Matt “I picked this flower for you, it’s pretty just like my baby. “ he explained, his nervousness flowing back unsure if he’d like it, his whole face going a light pink colour, but he still gave his partner the opportunity to take it if he wanted to despite the thoughts telling him his boyfriend would think it was dumb.
Hearing the older’s compliment roused feelings of bashfulness for the first time that day, pulling his stomach into a somersault. To know that someone as attractive as Danny thought that he was pretty no doubt elevated his self esteem, which had taken a significant hit from recent events. Matt admittedly found himself getting way out in left field with it sometimes, but his boyfriend’s caring words and attention always brought him back and in turn grounded him. Knowing that this man cared about him when no one else seemed to roped him out of the worst of moods and if Matt was entirely honest, he thought Danny was heaven sent… someone designed specifically with him in mind.
He wasn’t oblivious to the older’s hands moving rearwards, and it prompted a raise of his brow— until they were within sight again, this time baring a pretty pink flower, the petals soft and delicate in appearance. Matt’s heart went all aflutter, and he leveled his eyes with Danny, indubitably catching the color on his cheeks in the process. “Baby, you’re so sweet,” the words were spoken through a smile as Matt collected the flower, examining it just for a second before hugging his taller counterpart around the neck, this time a little bit longer than the first embrace. Reeling back just a bit allowed him to get at Danny’s lips with his, the younger planting a barrage of tiny kisses on them as though he were expressing his gratitude for the sweet gesture.
“I think you’re pinker than the flower,” the tease came in a mumble as Matt drew back altogether, hesitantly stepping away so as to duck back into the apartment in search of a vase. Once he’d located something suitable, he took care in filling it up and slipping the stem inside, smiling as he shelved the container, already knowing that he would think of his man every time he caught sight of the token of affection. That, he certainly couldn’t complain about. “Thank you, by the way…” Blue met green-tint hazel hues as Matt approached the doorway again, this time stepping out and locking up before beckoning his man to ‘come on, babe’ as he set off from the apartment on foot. The two had agreed to walk since the carnival was only a few blocks away; Matt knew, though, that grabbing an uber was always an option had the two found themselves too tired to walk back at the end of the evening.
The sun hung low in the sky, causing a splash of colors ranging from blue to the brightest pinks and purples, and cicadas sang in the distance, a gentle breeze whipping at his arms as they walked. Still, even with how pretty the sky was and how calm everything seemed— which was surprising for West Hollywood— none of it detracted from Danny. Matt huddled a little bit closer as they trekked, one of his hands sliding into his boyfriend’s. As their fingers intertwined, he couldn’t help but think about how fond he had grown of this man over the last few weeks. He truly had found himself swept off of his feet all over again and naturally it scared him, but Danny was worth the risk. “Thanks for taking me out, baby.. I can’t wait to fail miserably at all those rigged ass carnival games with you.”
When Matt realised Pearl got casted on RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 7.
There was a mess of butterflies in Matt’s stomach, but it wasn’t exactly out of the ordinary when Danny crossed his mind. Currently, the older was all that he could think about considering the fact that he was quite literally prepping for a night out with him— their first official, real date. Up until now, their time together had been spent wrapped up in each other within one another’s apartments, and although Matt naturally enjoyed the tickle fights, horror movie marathons, and of course the sex, he was buzzing with excitement at the prospect of an outing with his man. Being able to hold hands and show him off to the world would leave the younger with a pride beyond anything else.
How ironic (but fitting) it was that they had talked it over and excitedly agreed to attend the local carnival with one another. Danny always left him with the same jittery, feel-good nerves that the most thrilling carnival rides did, like he had won the biggest prize at the most profoundly rigged game, or like he was in the spotlight and all of the attention was on him— even when he was in bed and not feeling the greatest, his hair messy and his mood down. He hoped that he made Danny feel the same way.
He had just did up the last button on his button-down, the thin, black and almost sheer fabric perfectly framing his shoulders, when he’d heard a knock at the door. It resulted in a swift exit from his bedroom and he padded through the apartment, which was still fairly new to him. Though new, it had been modified and had everything he needed, the decor inexplicably Matt with several hints of greenery brightening the room. Arctic eyes turned warm in a flash when he whipped the door open to reveal exactly who he’d been holding out for, his lips twisting into a smile big enough to reveal teeth.
“Hey baby,” he greeted whilst reeling his other half in for a snug embrace, his arms framing his lithe middle. Tipping his chin allowed him to close the distance in between them with a sweet kiss, and right then, he could hardly wait to sample cotton candy from his lips. “You wanna come in for a sec or do you think you’re good to go?” Matt tore away from the kiss in favor of collecting his keys and wallet, carefully tucking them away in their usual pockets. As he went about it, his eyes casually raked over the older, drinking in his outfit choice amongst other things that he wouldn’t outright comment on, at least not right then. “You look really good, by the way…”
