Instead of writing an article about her (I don’t quite fancy getting sued or attacked by her defense squad that consists of…. herself lmao), I decided to make a little compilation post with sources for all of you who might consider looking into it a bit more:
Ann-Marie Thomson:
Here we have her twitter account, her bio states she’s “@SYCO’s Global Head of Media” and connected to “One Direction”.
This is her linkedin in which her occupations are described as: “Global Head of Media for Syco Entertainment & Simon Cowell”, “ International Media & Brand Strategy”, “Crisis Management” (”providing contacts and mental health clinicians/providers to oversee the boys mental well being and would step in during times of severe trauma or emergency") and others.
This article informs of her former involvement with prison psychology (“Thomson left the PR bubble in 2005 when she joined the Nottingham Probation Service, working with community service groups, before moving to Garth Prison in Lancashire to undertake psychological assessments of prisoners.”).
She used to be Max Clifford’s PA, he apparently has nothing but positive things to say about her.

This is Ann-Marie Thomson’s husband’s twitter account which provides the info that he works for The Sun.
The Hollywood Reporter’s article that states that “ Syco Entertainment’s Ann-Marie Thompson weds The Sun’s U.S. editor Peter Samson” (April 2013).
Pete gets EXCLUSIVES such as Louis’s alleged fatherhood, additional to Haylor stories back in the day.
IN SUMMARY:
Ann-Marie Thomson - who is Simon Cowell’s right hand woman and started working for Syco in 2007 - learned what she knows from convicted sexual predator and homophobe Max Clifford, and is married to The Sun’s US Editor Pete Samson.
She, although partly in charge of One Direction’s brand and PR, also has power over the band’s crisis management and therefore over which psychologists they get access to.
To absolutely nobody’s surprise, her husband gets juicy One Direction Exclusives.
One could, if they read the clues correctly, assume that there is a Conflict of Interest, seeing how psychological care and public relations should be separate from one another, and definitely not handled by the same person who sells stories to their husband’s tabloid and orchestrates stunts that could very well affect the boys’ mental well-being.
