When you have a — somewhat — unfinished relationship with someone, you don’t think about it too much. Most part of the time, you make yourself think that everything is actually over, there is no more feelings or memories involved.

That, of course, until you find yourself standing face to face with that person — even if it’s just for short seconds.

Just one glance, and the butterflies come back to life in your stomach. You didn’t even remembered they were there.

Of course, deep in your heart, you knew that there was still something. You just decided to forget about it. There is still some kind of feeling, and suddenly, some of the memories start coming back to your mind. Your heart races, and you can’t hold a subtle smile.

You can’t help thinking if he felt the same electricity in the air as you did. Maybe he didn’t. But it is better to think that he did, that way you don’t feel so silly.

The truth is, even if you want everything to be erased from your head, it is not possible. Some time, some of it will come back, and you won’t even know what hit you. Maybe we are all doomed to be haunted by the memories of someone we used to love, and maybe this will never go away. I think it’s just better if we start getting used to this, learn how to live with it without letting this destroy us.
