binge prevention tip!

if i feel like im gonna binge i chug 1L of water. id recommend adding some lemon juice into it because sometimes i just need some flavoUR IN MY DAMN MOUth after not eating for a while lol. if you feel like you’re gonna get REALLY out of control i recommend adding some juice/juice crystals into your water instead and chugging as much as you can (dont drown yourself boo) because it instantly zaps that urgent feeling to just stuff your face and it buys you time to think with a clear mind.
this method is literally to help calm your mind enough for you to really decide if you’re actually hungry or just emotional eating. if you’re actually hungry it will give you enough time to decide what you should eat instead of stuffing your face and making yourself sick.
ALSO THIS IS NOT A BANDAID!! this tip is to help you slow down and think about/find your triggers. if you are bingeing, i encourage you to find your triggers and deal with them in a safe and healthy way. I AM NOT promoting eating disorders. I AM only trying to lessen the shame/confusion one feels while working through bingeing habits.
things to do instead of binging:
- homework
- clean
- do a face mask + shower
- drink some water
- play a game that holds your attention
- watch netflix/hulu
- catch up on emails
- do laundry
- paint your nails
- watch makeup tutorials
- facetime a pal
- nap
- go on a walk
- dance
- try breathing exercises + meditation
- stretch
some tricks i use (2)
> only eat when you’re actually feeling hunger in your stomach, not when you’re craving something. if you’re craving something make yourself some tea with no sweetener, lemon water or black coffee.
> try not to drink your calories, it’s better to eat them because that way it takes longer to digest and you’ll feel full for longer.
> make a list of tasks (like a to-do list) that you have to be done with before a certain meal. for example: i have to clean my room, make my bed, wash my teeth, shower, get dressed and finish a drawing before i can have my breakfast.
> start your day with a coffee (it can be a latte) or tea (you can add milk) instead of food, because it helps to kickstart your metabolism for the day. after a while you’ll get so used to it that you won’t even think of having a bite in the morning.
