Here we go!!

So, I should start by saying that she'd be super excited if she found out that the illustrator of her favorite games was studying at the same school.

Extra points if you were in the same class.That might actually be how the two of you meet.

Like, imagine you're working on your illustrations.It's the first day of school, and the students in your class are wandering around campus, while only a few remain in the classroom.

You'd be sitting at your desk, drawing some splash art on your tablet or even in your own sketchbook.

That alone could catch her attention, in my opinion.

Like, if she's sitting behind you and happens to look away from her handheld game for a second, she might catch a glimpse of what you're drawing, and as soon as she realizes it's a very familiar character, she'll automatically become interested.

She'll eventually try to talk to you about it.I believe she could spend hours chatting and also asking about your artwork and the characters you illustrate.

She's an reserved girl, but I also think she loves talking about the things she likes the most. Video games are the most common topic.

She's also a great listener, and if you're just as talkative, I think the two of you will soon realize that you're a perfect match!!

Now, if the two of you are already in a relationship, the scenario wouldn't change much.

You met the same way I mentioned above, but I think you'd be the one who would have to make the first move and talk to her.

We know Chiaki is pretty reserved, and she's also not very good at making friends.

So the first interaction is up to you! Don't be afraid, she doesn't bite... (I think).

And she won't turn down a good conversation about video games, and if you mention that you made some of the illustrations for the game she's currently playing, she'll get really excited!!

Your relationship naturally develops after that.

(I don't know how it works in other countries, but here in Brazil, it's very common to invite a friend over to your house, even if you've just met!)

If you invite her over with the idea of showing her more of your artwork, Nanami would accept with a shy nod.She wouldn't even think twice...That could be a little concerning.

But, again, to her, there's nothing wrong with trusting someone else.

Since we're talking about a female reader, it's even easier for her to warm up to you.

The two of you spend hours together, Chiaki playing games while you draw.

Please ask for her opinion! She'd love to talk about some of her own ideas for characters and settings, even though she'd feel a little embarrassed, thinking she's taking advantage of you.

But as the two of you spend more time together, Chiaki will gradually open up more, and before long, the two of you will be debating the best way to tell a character's story using only their clothes and accessories.

Like... It's a technical discussion that nobody around you really understands... and honestly, it might even be intimidating how in sync the two of you are.

(I read somewhere that, in canon, Chiaki had never had any romantic interactions before, and that's why she and Hajime are always so nervous around each other, not knowing what to do. Honestly, I think that's super adorable!!! So let's base this on that!!)

As the two of you grow closer, your feelings grow as well, and although our Nanami really is starting to like you in a more romantic way, she doesn't know what to do. So you'll have to pay much closer attention.

Fortunately, they say artists pay more attention to details than other people!

You'll start noticing how she moves closer to watch while you draw and talk to her about your progress.

The way she leans her shoulder against yours whenever the two of you sit side by side while playing games together. The same goes for when she's playing and you're drawing.

As she tests the waters, her actions will start looking more and more like those of a little kitten unconsciously looking for affection.

The romance between the two of you is slow, a little lazy, and even so, every little detail starts to feel like something huge.

However, being in love with another girl is always a little scary at first, and sometimes things can get confusing between the two of you.

Confusing as in: neither of you can tell whether the other is just being affectionate or trying to hint at something more.

(I've been through that, okay? I'm sharing a little bit of my own experience here!! Don't judge me!)

But in the end, every road leads to the same place:The two of you walking home hand in hand.

She'll blush even more if you intertwine your fingers with hers, and she'll move even closer to you, brushing against your shoulders and maybe, if she's feeling a little braver, she'll rest her head on your shoulder.

Dating Chiaki requires patience and lots of affection.She's inexperienced in everything, and maybe this is the first time she's realized that she likes girls.

So, yes. If you already know what you want, and you know you want to be with her, just respect and appreciate the small steps.I'd even say she's kind of like a little turtle.

★ Has no idea what his chess rating is, as he has barely (if ever) played online and never took part in a tournament. Before you, his only experiences with chess were the friendly games with his uncle back when life was normal.

★ He knows basic openings, for example as white he'll mostly play the London. Matches with him mostly end up rather positional, but he doesn't shy away from taking the initiative.

★ Try catching him off guard with a bold exchange or sacrifice! The perplexed expression is priceless + as a bonus you get to see it turn into the deepest focus you've seen yet.

★ Regardless of whether you win or not, he will always thank you for the game properly.

★ If he loses, he takes it as an opportunity to learn and improve.

★ If he wins, he'll gently comfort you. He'll tell you that you can always win next time.

★ Surprisingly high rating. Maybe around 1600?? That's just a reference frame. No one knows where it came from, since he claims to hate the game.

KOKICHI-------------------------------

★ Do NOT play with the ragebaiter. Despite knowing great advanced openings, he plays THE GROB every single time. I'm dead serious. It's his bit and he'll never get tired of it. He loves seeing the disappointment in your eyes when he goes g4.

★ The worst part is that he knows how to win like this. Though it's gotten hard after the element of surprise wore off.

★ Before he started playing like this, he would sooomeeetimeees attempt fool's mate with you. Who does he think you are?

★ Talks all the time during the match. Apparently, alongside typical tactics such as forks, skewers or pins, there's a new one: distraction

★ May pretend to cry after losing. Be prepared.

★ Has an actual FIDE rating and it's around 1900. He is insane, but I think we all know that.

NAGITO ---------------------------------

★ You want to play with who??? Him??? Why? An Ultimate wants to have a match with him?? Aww but he's so so bad 😞. Honoured though! Will still gladly play with you!

★ He's really hard to beat unless you're like, the Ultimate Chess Player specifically. He's delighted to play and won't hold back.

★ Enjoys playing complex openings that have a bunch of different variants. For example, as black he might play the Sicilian if possible and he's prepared for nearly all that entails. As white, will opt for a gambit. No I don't know which one specifically, unpredictable in that regard.

★ Might go for crazy sacrifices that have you questioning if he actually knows what he's doing. However, that one move that "blundered" the queen pays off in the long run when he demolishes your position. Then you look up from the board and he's smiling like nothing happened.

★ Speaking of looking up from the board, whenever it's your move he looks at you. Intensely.

★ After the game, will thank you profoundly.

★ I'd say she's okay. She has only ever played online, but doesn't enjoy the standard version of the game as much as she does more fancy variants. Loves chess 960, loves chess with multiverse time travel, loves any goofy additional mechanics (like spells and other things) as long as they're implemented well.

CHIAKI -----------------------------------

★ Appreciates the game's long tradition, but prefers discovering something new in the more innovative iterations.

★ Uses gamer slang when talking about chess. For example, calls certain openings "meta". Have you heard of the king's pawn hypercarry? Whatever that opening is supposed to be... Genuinely you can't decipher sometimes.

★ Surprisingly forward with her attacks. When you ask about it she'll tell you in that calm voice of hers all about the strategic advantages of the offence.

before you started dating, hajime and nagito had a bit of a romantic rivalry going on, over who would get to end up with you! all the while they were both oblivious to the fact that chiaki liked you too–

eventually, it was chiaki who made the big move and not only confessed to you, but nonchalantly brought up the idea of all of them dating you!

not only did that end the rivalry between hajime and nagito, but this polyamorous relationship ended up helping the other three come to terms with their feelings for each other as well!

all three of your partners have their own way of showing affection to you! chiaki is someone who just clings to you quietly, oftentimes even falling asleep in your arms unprompted

meanwhile nagito is someone who's very touchy and affectionate with you, while also apologizing for it over and over again, yet always getting touchy again moments later–

hajime is the least affectionate, likely because he's embarrassed about public displays of affection. he's fine with holding hands, but kisses or cuddles are reserved for private time!

the four of you do a lot of things together, often spending dates night together, during which chiaki often gets you all to play videogames with her! only when she eventually falls asleep or takes a nap can hajime, nagito and you focus on other things, like chatting or having some snacks!

whenever you actually do get cute aggression (rightfully so), Hajime gets oh so flustered and confused!

he's the type of guy who says he's average and there's nothing much to him. i think he's not completely the insecure guy since he wouldn't think much of it till it's pointed out. but he does get his "why..do i look chopped?" moments while taking a sad, hot shower or at 2am.

pls make him feel loved. pls. he deserves this.

so whenever you just go and hold his cheeks like a gleeful aunt and squeeze, while you're SCREAMING AND SCREECHING about how he sipped his juice "like a lil' cutie pie" he goes all like:

all while he's blushing beautifully. BUT he doesn't stop you nor reject it every time you reach out. he finds it cute!

Is DC at the stage where they're unwilling to let time flow anymore (a 'Time Crisis' if you will), and the only way anyone's age changes now is through 'time shenanigans'.

Because there has to be an upper limit for how old they will allow a character to be - e.g. (For several reasons) They will never allow Bruce Wayne to turn 50.

You got it in one. Time is now an enemy that needs to be kept at bay, Why?

DC (and other comic books) have to keep their characters within a believable age range. It’s why DC has never allowed their characters to age in real time. They can’t and still keep them viable as Intellectual Properties.  Batman premiered in Detective Comics Comics #27 in March of 1939. Since Bruce was supposed to be somewhere around 22 to 25 years old at that time, he would pushing 130 years of age today.

The biggest canonical age-up in the Batfamily was Dick Grayson. Because of the 1966 Batman TV show he went from a ‘tween to a teen overnight. This was back in the days when I was young, meaning that comic books weren't really taken very seriously. The TV show was a huge success, so DC climbed on board the gravy train and tried to match as much in the comics as they could. 

 After the show ended in 1969, DC wisely realized that keeping an 18 or 19 year old in this costume...

was a truly bad idea (if not soft core porn at that point). Which is why Dick changed to Nightwing.

Dick was about 20 years old (maybe a little older at this point). He was a young adult but an adult by anyone’s standards. Dick then went to Bludhaven where he got not only his very own city to protect but better fashion sense as well. 

What this inevitably meant is that Bruce had to be aged up as well, leaving Bruce in his early 30′s when Dick became Nightwing. Batman got a series of Robins. First Jason..

Who was with him for 2 to 3 years. Batman is now early to mid 30s when Jason dies. Then Tim...

who started as Robin at 13 and stayed Robin until 17. That’s another 4 years. Bruce is now in his very late 30s. Then Stephanie...

who stayed Robin for all of 2 minutes before Tim was Robin again.

Bruce was in his very late 30s when Damian, age 11, came into the picture.

Four more years passed and not only did Tim go from being Red Robin to Robin again but he lost, then gained back a year of age. Damian went from 11 to 13 years of age, making Bruce in his early 40s.

The point is that each new iteration of Robin ages Bruce up. He’s now supposed to be in his early 40s. He’s beginning to feel age creeping up on him. A part of Bruce is finally ready to accept that he physically won’t be able to continue as Batman in another decade or so.

This is why the “Time Crisis” as you call it is vital. Batman has to be kept no older than he is now to be believable. It’s also why Damian got an upgrade to 13 but Tim is going to stay 17 basically forever. Yes, DC can pull some time shenanigan’s and let Damian and Tim get maybe a year older each but that’s it. 

The bottom line is simple. Batman and family are the biggest money makers DC currently has. If rumors are to be believed, Batman and Co are the only real money makers DC has. They’re pulling no end of crazy storyline stuff with Bruce but the one thing they cannot do is make him older. As someone in her late 60s I can tell you from experience that your early 40s are when you have the unpleasant awakening that you can’t push yourself like you used to. Sickness hits you hard. It takes longer to recover from injuries. You’re reminded of the wear and tear you put on your body over the years when you get out of bed each morning. 

“Time Crisis” isn’t really a crisis. It’s simply acknowledging that Batman isn’t Superman or Wonder Woman. He’s Bruce Wayne and Bruce Wayne may be the pinnacle of what a normal human can reach but he’s not an alien or a demi-god. Bruce Wayne is only mortal and all mortals fade with time.

The girl wanted a pretty braid or she wouldn't go to school, no way!

Bruce has no idea how to do this. He's in trouble!

Alfred is not participating! He can't!

Alfred can only watch from afar as Batman faces one of his biggest challenges: Brushing his daughter's hair.
