Oh my goodness so I realized this while typing out my last post and it’s possible someone’s already thought of this BUT

Every time Lockwood saves Lucy, it’s visual. He makes her look at him, like when he hugs her to stop her from walking into the well or him pulling her out of her daze during the Solomon guppy case. Lockwood’s strength is Sight, and because of him, Lucy SEES clearer.

And when LUCY SAVED HIM AND WHEN LUCY SAVED HIM IN THE LAST BOOK SHE CALLED OUT TO HIM SHE CALLED HIS NAME LUCY IS A LISTENER and LOCKWOOD HEARS HER HE HEARS CLEARER

and through each other’s weaknesses, they always bring each other back
