Once again thinking about Buck telling Eddie about his rebound hookup with Tommy

Like Buck being super cautious and worried as he tells him about them almost restarting their relationship while Eddie was in Texas, fully treating it like he’s confessing to an affair despite the fact that (in their minds) they were not dating at the time, they are not dating now, they have never dated. While Eddie’s there going ,,,, okay,,,,, how come you never told me? So Buck cagily says they got in a fight straight after because Tommy didn’t really believe he’s Buck’s first choice. And naturally Eddie’s confused and starts asking about it, because he saw how upset Buck was about the breakup and can’t imagine Tommy not seeing how much he cared about him

Then finally Buck has to admit that Tommy thought he’s in love with Eddie and that he would end up coming between them. And he’s bracing for a soft rejection with the whole ‘he knows I’m straight though, right? He doesn’t have anything to worry about’ argument he tried to use at the time. But instead Eddie just goes ‘man if he thinks you’d cheat on him with me then he doesn’t know anything about you’ with absolutely No opposition to the idea of them getting together

And as soon as the conversation is over Buck hightails it to Maddie’s house to try and figure out what the fUCK that response means

this is another example of transandrophobia affecting trans women. and nonbinary people who look like cishet men. trans struggles are inherently intertwined with each other and trans struggles are also inherently intertwined with queer struggles as a whole. you cannot fight for the rights of only part of the trans community. in the sense that there is no way to gatekeep womanhood from only trans women without bleeding over into cis women with the same features/characteristics, there is no way to gatekeep trans spaces and the trans community from trans men that wont also bleed over into other trans people, especially those who arent privileged enough to come out or transition, or just. gnc trans people in general. trans people shouldnt have to out themselves to be in trans spaces. if this allows some cis people in, thats fine! great even! there is no good way to have a single identity space that wont exclude people of said identity for not "looking the part" and some "cis guys" in the trans community are eggs looking for community with people who might understand them

Coz we already know Maddie at least kinda ships Buck and Eddie and that Chimney likes to play matchmaker, there’s no way those two aren’t scheming. So it’s just madney (+ Chris because he’s absolutely started picking up the vibe and wants his dads to be happy) setting up ways for Buck and Eddie to be alone together in increasingly romantic settings. But the two of them are just so used to spending time together being domestic that they don’t even clock that they’re on dates

And the whole time Maddie and Chimney are getting increasingly infuriated because it’s so goddamn hard to set up people who are basically already married. By the end the entire group is in on it and making bets, buddie have finally figured out what they’re doing, and they’re actively choosing to fuck with everyone by continuing to go along while pretending they’re still oblivious. Totally just for the laughs and not because they both see it as an excuse to go on dates without having to admit anything

Then when they finally do get together they realise it means their scheme did work and they’re both petty enough to be annoyed by that

I can’t stop thinking about how weirdly funny the back-to-back of the firefighter competition and the road trip is. Like they really had Buck ragebait the Nashville crew until he gets in a fight with Not-Jacob Elordi, then like two days later he ragebaits Eddie so hard an entire town thinks Eddie murders him

It is honestly wild that over the three shows, the only character that has long-term tangible impacts from an injury or illness (not counting ones that were set up from the jump like Owen’s cancer, TK and Bobby’s addictions, or Maddie’s PTSD) is Wyatt being in a wheelchair

Like Hen got over her autoimmune condition and stopped using her wheelchair in a couple episodes, people get shot and stabbed with no lasting physical or emotion issues, Bobby dying and Chris being taken away from Eddie never makes Buck flash back to his coma dream or makes him derealise, Chimney literally had no issues after getting stabbed in the brain, Maddie gets her throat slit then never mentions it again after her voice comes back, and not to mention all the death fakeouts where basically every character comes about two seconds from dying at one point or another

I’m not saying I want it to be a straight up medical drama but for shows that put so much of a focus on characters’ emotional wellbeing, the impact of trauma, and the danger of being first responders, they don’t really let us feel the impact of all the lifethreatening shit they go through coz they all just brush it off as soon as it isn’t plot relevant

#I love the show sm but I’m just begging for the characters to be meaningfully impacted #things matter for a few episodes but then they hit the reset button and now it’ll be mentioned maybe twice for the rest of the show #I genuinely loved wyatt’s arc in lone star #in large part because. my mum was a 999 dispatcher who uses a wheelchair so it was a bit of very specific rep for me #but also because we actually see the impact of being disabled and the ways you can still thrive and be genuinely happy in a wheelchair #the moment of everyone in dispatch hiding under tables while wyatt had to rely on carlos to protect him did give me a lil smile #coz I feel that was a very real moment of his disability having an impact on him in ways most people wouldn’t even think twice about #911 abc #911 #911 spoilers #I don’t mind it as much when shows about Buff Bros Who Don’t Feel Emotion don’t introspect about their trauma #but they talk so much about physical and emotional conditions that it just feels. unrealistic for these characters in particular #their asses love therapy and medical checkups #hen’s autoimmune condition was the straw that broke the camels back for me #she doesn’t have to be constantly talking about it but I want a sign that it still impacts her daily life yknow #just makes me kinda sad

Like the teaser made it look like he was gonna be a major point of focus and do some Injured 80s Action Hero stuff, but instead they just went hm. how do we make sure the one guy with combat experience is out of the way? Fuck it let’s just have him bleeding out half naked in a lift.

Absolutely Begging for s10 to have Diaz-Buckley family bonding scenes

Like I want them doing the game nights they did in earlier seasons, with Chris teaching Theo how to play video games and them teaming up against their dads. Eddie being Buck’s go to babysitter whenever he has to leave Theo behind. Chris being the first one to get Theo to properly about his parents since he knows what it’s like to lose a parent young. Buck and Eddie bonding over being single dads and supporting each other. Pepa immediately seeing Theo as her new nephew and volunteering to look after him and Chris whenever she can

Most of all I want it to get to a point where Theo calls Chris his brother and/or Eddie his dad
