Bienvenido 2015.
❤ Get out of the habit of wearing make-up every day.
Anyone with half a brain cell can tell it is not good to smother and suffocate your skin with chemicals. It has become a habit so much so with me that I think I have often focused on covering up any skin imperfections with make-up instead of making the actual skin I am in perfect. I am going to focus on skincare this year (natural obviously), go for professional treatments and of course research and develop my diet into one that gives skin a natural glow and makes it beautiful. It’s a new project and it’s rather exciting and I am looking forward to rid myself of the paraben ridden bases I have previously over exposed my skin to. Obviously I’ll still wear make-up for special occasions but there is absolutely no need to use it every day!
❤ Travel Some More!
Last year I went on FOUR fabulous holidays to different places with the different people I love. I also went to France and Belgium for a few days and had a few short weekend breaks in the U of the K. I enjoyed them all so much and am extremely happy to now have them as memories. I would like to see Asai this year but we shall see where life takes me. I love travel. (AKA the only thing you can buy that makes you richer).
❤Just Have Fun.
In the words of Cindi Lauper: ‘Girls Just Wanna Have Fun!’ and this girl here is no different. I would love to build another year of memories to look back on and appreciate like I did this one. This blog makes me realise how lucky I am, I go on fabulous holidays, have fabulous friends, go out for amazing meals at least once a week with those I love, have people around me that would do anything for me and people I would too do anything for. Life is there to be lived so let’s just have fun doing so! What’s the point in taking temporary things too seriously? Just Enjoy!

What I learned in 2014 (Deep Shizzle)
* Gratitude is the key to happiness. It’s that simple.
* My parents are the best friends I will ever have.
* Travel is the one and only thing you can buy that makes you richer.
* Once you realise your true worth - you can have it all.
* I have learned to always go with my gut.
* Teaching a worthwhile subject is possibly the best, most rewarding thing you could ever do with your skills and time.
* There are absolutely no cuddles like a Daddy-Daughter cuddle.
* Doing things for yourself is always far more rewarding. Be it DIY, be it beauty related or be it saving and buying something yourself - you work that brain and work those fingers and thumbs to achieve whatever the furk you want to sista’ (or brudda’). * I couldn’t live without an electric toothbrush (used with fluoride-free toothpaste of course).
* I have come to realise that those people who are obsessed with their jobs have huge chunks missing from their personal lives (be it lack of love, friends or body confidence) so they have to throw themselves into a pointless job in an attempt to scrape back some kind of value to their life. It’s really quite sad to be honest, I really do hope no-body lives like it forever and it’s just a phase some have to go through in order to learn to appreciate the true value of life afterwards.
* Bicarbonate of soda is my new best friend.
* Every single person that comes into your life is there to teach you something, be it big or small, I am quietly taking notes of all these lessons. * One thing I have learned about myself is that I can have an interesting conversation with absolutely anyone. It’s a trait both my father has and my Mum’s father had I am told which makes me love it about myself even more. Our spirits are adjoined somehow clearly.
* You will meet some vindictive, jealous, unkind human beings that haven’t yet managed to evolve into a decent being. It’s OK though, It really is, the issue is always by their side, not yours so it’s all good. Imagine that being your affect on people? Imagine having such a negative impact on people so they can’t even bare to be in your company. We have to take time to pity these individuals really as they really don’t have much else. This has nothing to do with growing up either as I have met those decades older than myself this way… which leads me onto my next point…
* Age really isn’t anything more than a number. I have friends of 18 and friends of 80. Anyone who thinks they are any more or less superior on the basis of age is simply a fool. You don’t know my journey and I don’t know yours, but I sure as hell would listen to yours before I would even dream of making any presumptions. * I vow from this year to always follow happiness, never money (aka the fake ass illusion of happiness media and society try to sell you). * One of the best qualities to have is the ability to be able to laugh at yourself, it’s good for you and it’s good for those around you. Enjoy it - it’s not that serious and there’s nothing funnier than an inside joke… right? right?
* There is only one way to take a compliment and that is to simply say ‘Thank you’ and smile.
* There is only one way to give a compliment and that is to mean it and expect nothing from it.
* There is nothing more sacred then reconnecting with nature. We are all out of touch with our natural biorhythms and need to take time to reconnect!
* Energy theft is not ok. To those people who think energy is a load of hippy mumbo-jumbo, I am sorry but you are in fact deluded. Energy (both positive and negative) is palpable. We have all felt it. There are people who make you feel alive and happy and people who make you feel drained and down. Distance yourself from those with control dramas and keep yourself energised and balanced.
* Being single really isn’t that bad, in fact it’s rather enriching and fun.
* Smothering your body in chemicals without giving it a second thought isn’t smart and it isn’t clever. The natural way is the only way forward.
* If you don’t have trust in a person, be it a partner, a so-called friend, a boss or even a family member - you don’t have any reason to be there. Drop that shit like a hot potato cos’ it’s next stop destination nowhere girlfriend.
* My friends are actually the best and I am one truly lucky girl to have them.
* Your opinion of yourself is far more important than anyone else’s thoughts about you and quite frankly, what other people think about you really isn’t any of your business.
* Do exactly what you want, when you want, how you want and where you want for the reasons why you want to. As long as you’re not hurting anybody in this process or affecting someone else’s happiness then why not? It is your birthright to be free afterall.
* Always get your brows done by a professional. Plucking disasters are often followed with weeks of growing them out, and the bushy look is not chic, I can tell you that for a penny or a dime.
* Trying new things is my favourite past time.
* Nostalgia is one B-E-A-UTIFUL feeling and I have felt it a lot this year. It’s probably my favourite emotion!
* I have learned to ignore words if there are no actions.
* Germany is AWESOME.
* Swimming is my solace.
* What goes around most definitely comes back around. Karma is a force in its own right and is not to be reckoned with. You get what you give in this life.
* Sweet potato is the absolute bang-bang-to-chang-chang-oochie-woochie-bigboy-willa-ma-lay-lay-bestest.
* Throughout the course of this year I have learned to ‘Chill out’ - I’m not dead if I’m here worrying about it, I’m still alive, still breathing so the rest of the world I’ll just have to stop grieving! Ha! * People won’t remember what you said, and they won’t remember what you did; but they will always remember how you made them feel… hence why those who are not all that nice to people are usually the loneliest kind.

December Faves!
This month has been a very busy and very cosy one for me. I have been loving The Body Shop’s Colour Crush Shine Lipstick in 13… It’s amazing, feels fabulous on my lips and makes my teeth looks nice. Lots of the girls I used to work with have this colour too and it’s like the trousers from the sisterhood of the traveling pants - this one colour fits all!
This month has been mostly about time with my loved ones, although I’ve been super busy with work and tutoring, I have managed to make lots of time for my lovely little chap-dog Riley. We have had so many brisk walks, long cosy cuddles and funny playtime moments. I honestly don’t know what I’d do without my Riley at times. Having a dog is one of the best gifts life has to offer, or any animal you have a special bond with I suppose. There’s no room for words with animals so it’s all actions and thus it’s all real. What a beautiful blessing I have - a fine relationship between a girl and her dog!
I got this L’occetane set for Christmas and I am as in love with it now as I was the first time I ever smelt it. The Cherry Blossom scent at L’occetane is so elegant, fresh and natural. It is a MILLION times better than the one the body shop does so If you like that or are thinking of getting it; go for the L’occetane one instead! I love all of the products. The hand cream is beautiful and makes you smell like you’ve put perfume on. The bath and shower gel makes your whole house smell beautiful when you put it in and leaves you feeling so clean, fresh and revived! I love L’occetane products also because, they are mostly vegan as far as I know and all of their products and ingredients are CRUELTY FREE, which of course is a big winner for me!
I was a lucky girl on the perfume front this Christmas and I also got a few sets of my beloved Juicy Couture - Viva La Juicy… This scent has so many memories attached to it for me. Every time I spray it, it reminds me of a new random memory and it’s very special to me. I also love the mix of this perfume with a little bit of the cherry blossom body lotion underneath. It mixes so well and mixes beautifully.
Red Musk from the Body Shop is a fabulous scent, when I put this on, I just feel like an empowered, independent, fiery mama’ as I started wearing this as I became single and quit my old job -ha! There’s no better feeling then knowing your self-worth and taking control of your life!
I got some Minnie Mouse Pyjamas for christmas in that soft fleece material they sell and oh my goodness - they are the closest feeling on earth to laying on cloud nine! They are so snug, cosy and warm. If I could I would wear them everywhere. They were by far my favourite gift this year as well. There is nothing better than a new pair of JimJams on christmas day!
I have had a lip liner stuck in my drawer for a long time now, ever since my ex, ex assistant manager told me that was all she used on her lips and her lips always looked so glam! I love this lip liner from the Body Shop in PINK/BROWN. It makes my lips look plump and kissable and I love that it really highlights the cute shape of my lips while working as a fantastic primer for my lippie!
I went to see ANNIE in the cinema the other day and it did not disappoint, some of the songs were a bit hit and miss but the story and the actors were just brilliant. Growing up, ANNIE was my favourite film and It gives me such a nice feeling in my belly (self-diagnosed as intense nostalgia)… I have been listening to all the ANNIE songs old and new, in English and Spanish on repeat since my cinema visit and it’s safe to say I am slightly obsessed… I even hunted down a show in the theatre and plan on going to Birmingham to see it in October! Sometimes these sorts of things will just touch you and become your favourite thing. I remember my Dad becoming obsessed with the phantom of the opera when he was super ill once as he felt he could relate. I’m not going to be one of those people who now dress as ANNIE and only eats an orphan diet but I don’t think there is anything wrong with having a passion/ love for something that is there to make people feel good and what is, quite frankly an absolute work of art all round.
My favourite expression/s this month is "There is no ‘I’ in Team/We."
Well would you just look at that: Another month lived, Another list of loves… Yay!

The Single Girl's Bucket List!
1. Spend copious amounts of time with your friends and family - especially your parents, you only get one set of those so appreciate them while you have the time to.
2. Take road trips with friends.
3. Learn to cook well.
4. Watch what you want to watch, when you want to watch it, how you want to watch it. No more compromising and having to watch the football and no more remote control hog. It’s all yours baby!
5. Travel solo and go on a trip by yourself!
6. Give Internet dating a try.
7. Go on a blind date.
8. Go on a date with a younger man.
9. Go on a date with an older man.
10. Buy yourself flowers - treat yourself - they will look just as beautiful!
11. Splurge on yourself regularly, be it a new dress, some new heels or a super hot new lipstick.
12. Go on a day date; I’m talking a trip to the zoo, kayaking, or even just a walk in the park. A man who will meet you during daylight has way more potential.
13. Figure out what it is YOU really want. Do you want to travel the world? Do you want to be a career girl? Do you want a mortgage? Do you want marriage and kids? Do you want all of those things? Figure out which way you wish to do it and do it… Life is too short to wait around girl!
14. Do your own DIY. Put up your own shelves, paint your own walls. Prove to yourself that you DON’T need a man.
15. Get some new hobbies; you owe it to yourself to know exactly what it is you enjoy doing and then you can find someone who shares those interests.
16. Get healthy and into shape. This body is all yours baby, make it worthy of the soul inside it.
17. Snog a stranger - or two.
18. Be SPONTANEOUS - Freedom is your birthright!
19. Pack up and move someplace new, what’s stopping you?!
20. Let your friends set you up (and keep an open mind about it!)
21. Have a girls night in at least once a month.
22. Be bold - be it wearing something totally outrageous or approaching that guy you think is good looking instead of waiting for him to approach you!
23. Go speed dating.
24. Make a list of all your faults and work on them - don’t let this consume you though. You are beautiful, intelligent and wonderful and the fact you can accept you’re not perfect is a beautiful trait in itself.
25. Revamp your wardrobe and experiment with new clothes. Hell there’s no more thinking ‘I wonder if so and so would like this… I wonder if he will think I look cute in this?’ Buy clothes because YOU like them and YOU feel good about yourself in them. You’ll develop your true sense of style and it will be fabulous!
26. Know your body. That way things will be even better when you meet someone you actually like.
27. Don’t be afraid to talk about sex baby. Be honest about what you like and learn new skills. (Bit X rated for my blog but that is as rude as it gets I swear! Te lo juro. Haha)
28. Save money.
29. Take more risks.
30. Work out who your real friends are.

OCTOBER FAVES
The Body Shop's Rainforest Moisture Shampoo(*): I love, love, love this shampoo, to infinity and beyond. It is free from parabens, silicones, sulphates and colourants which is a dream when you take into consideration how much junk most shampoos have in them. On top of being free from nastiness, it also smells gorgeous and a little goes a long way. It leaves my hair feeling clean and healthy and that is exactly what one needs from a shampoo. The shampoo from the rainforest range I use is 'moisture' but there are different types to chose from depending on your hair type. So, let me run you through all the types - there is moisture for dry/damaged hair, shine for normal to dry hair, balance for oily hair, volumising for fine hair and finally, radiance for coloured hair. They all contain community fair trade sugarcane from Paraguay.
Crystal spring natural deodorant (Salt of the Earth): I have been using this bad boy for a few months now and I love it. It doesn't contain aluminium which was a main worry for me when using deodorant. it's also free from fragrance, propellants, parabens and alcohol. I know its weird but I've also become rather attached to the fact you have to wet it to use it too.
Waitrose Pure Face Polish: On the waitrose website they have stated that it is natural care for sensitive skin, it is fragrance free and it is 100% naturally derived ingredients. What attracted me to it even more was that it only has six ingredients in, all of which were desirable nice ones like almond oil and Shea butter. On top of the fact it seemed so perfect formula-wise; it was only £2.99! So I snapped it up in my last food shop. I have been really enjoying using it. It leaves a bit of oil on afterwards as Shea butter products tend to but I like that as I find it extra moisturising!
The Body Shop's Aloe soothing night cream: I have been using this bad boy since I started working for the body shop a year ago. Its fragrance, colour and alcohol free and it doesn't contain any preservatives. I actually use this one day and night because I find it does absolute wonders for my skin! I want to use this forever and ever as it's super luxurious and at a fair price I think.
Aloe Dent Whitening Toothpaste: Most Aloe Vera products designed for internal use disgust me, but this tooth paste is amazing. The fact I found a fluoride free toothpaste with whitening properties made me very happy and I was even happier when I initially got it home and discovered that it tasted just the same as my old minty toothpastes! Love this toothpaste! Another life long friend I think.
I have an abundance of non-beauty faves this month. I have been a total TV head recently, my favourite programs have been Our Girl on BBC, Bad bridesmaids on ITV, TOWIE and MIC are also a guilty pleasures of mine and I am glad they are back on at the same time to entertain me for three out of seven of these chilly autumn evenings. Music wise I have become a bit obsessed with Ben Howard's song 'Old Pine' and Jamelia's music, in particular 'No More' and 'Thank you' - the lyrics are as if I had written them for how I have been feeling this month and quite frankly Jamelia is one foxy, inspirational young women! As a fashion fave I have been loving my new bag from Zara, it's beaut. A food favourite has been cherry bakewells as my lovely uncle brought them round twice to cheer me up from this absolute pig of a month I have had to endure.

Wishy, Wanty... Beauty Edition
The Body Shop's Red Musk: My goodness this scent is divine, It smells absolutely delicious. It doesn't contain any floral notes so it has a slight masculine edge, but I love that as I sometimes use men's fragrances anyway! It's notes consist of spiced musk, pepper, cinnamon and tobacco. It doesn't come out until November but I have been trying the Try-Me bottle at the front of TBS stores almost daily. It's so spicy and interesting and really suits this time of year. Well done The Body Shop for inventing my new signature fragrance. I love when you discover a new fragrance you love as much as I love this one. I have been telling every single customer at the till point about it too and I would say that 9 out of 10 people actually love it, they have described it as 'interesting' and 'classy' quite a lot and they have all said they will be back in November to purchase it! It smells even better after it has developed too and it is long-lasting so my work shirts have been smelling amazing after work. Lush's wizards hat: WAH! I love LUSH so much, their bath bombs are to die for and there are so many new products I want to get my mitts on, especially from the Christmas range! The Wizards hat also caught my eye because, it looks like a lot of fun! It contains the Wizard Bubble Bar, The Sparkler Bath Bomb and the Star light, Star bright bath melt. I have to say the latter bath melt is the one I am most excited for, it has a lime and ginger scent with a shea butter fondant in the centre. How amazing does that sound?! ...Very in my book - Very! The body shop's cranberry shower gel: (Well - Range): Last year this was my absolute fave. I bought the entire range for every member of my family, even the home stuff for my Dad! It's just such a lovely scent; seriously to die for. Last year they called it 'Cranberry Joy' but I believe they have called it 'Frosted Cranberry' this year. Still who cares about the name - if the products smell the same, they will be mine and my Dad's, and my Mum's, and my Sister's and my Brother's and my Cousins... The shower gel itself contains community fairtrade honey from ethiopia and is soap free so it shouldn't dry your skin out. However, I am slightly unsure if I will re-buy this as I have just read that it contains Sodium Laureth Sulphate which a customer told me the other day is what they use to clean car engines so being me I had to look it up and I found out this - "Sodium lauryl sulfate (SLS) /Sodium Laureth Sulphate (SLES) is a surfactant, detergent, and emulsifier used in thousands of cosmetic products, as well as in industrial cleaners. It is present in nearly all shampoos, scalp treatments, hair color and bleaching agents, toothpastes, body washes and cleansers, make-up foundations, liquid hand soaps, laundry detergents, and bath oils/bath salts. Although SLS originates from coconuts, the chemical is anything but natural. The real problem with SLES/SLS is that the manufacturing process (ethoxylation) results in SLES/SLS being contaminated with 1,4 dioxane, a carcinogenic by-product..." (Dr. Mercola, 2010, link here)... Hmmm I may have to rethink that one, I can still smell it though I guess which is enough for me, also I can still buy the Eau de Toilette and just use it on my clothes. YAY! Zoella Beauty's Fizz Bar: I can't wait to try this out. It smells lovely and on top of that it is paraben and SLS free. There are ten ingredients in this product, all of which I have googled and none of which appear to be unnatural or super nasty so really and truly, Zoella has smashed it with this product and I'm sure I will love it. I won't be using it for a while though due to the fact I have to use up all my birthday LUSH and Bomb Cosmetics bath bombs first! Lavera Natural Liquid Foundation: I am still hemming and hawing over this to be honest. I have been on a serious mission for an organic and chemical free foundation for months now. There are always so many ingredients in them that it becomes quite difficult. The thing that attracts me to this lavera one however is the fact it is free from parabens, sulphates, petrochemicals, silicones, synthetic dyes and artificial fragrance. Obviously eventually I will just throw every foundation out of the window and go bare faced but for the time being I have to wear it for my job and I would like it for special occasions at least. If I could get to the stage where I never had to wear foundation I totally would but I am not yet that confident so I may purchase this to replace all those MAC and Maybelline foundations I have in my drawer with nasty parabens and god-knows-what in them! Well how's that for a beauty wishes ramble and investigation. I love that I am evolving as a human being and not just buying things willy nilly without thinking of the harsh chemicals I am exposing my largest organ to (my skin), your skin does so much for you and protects you and your internal organs from so much, so why bathe it in dangerous substances you would NEVER eat, the weird thing is- your digestive system could probably fight off these harmful chemicals a lot easier than your skin can. I read the other day that it takes precisely 26 seconds for anything you put onto your skin to be absorbed into your blood stream. That is freaky business. Think before you buy, but more importantly; Think before you apply!

SEPTEMBER FAVES
Fossil Stella Rose Gold Watch - This is the biggest help at work. It's such an elegant and beautiful watch and I would be lost without it.
The Body Shop's Pomegranate and Raspberry Room and Linen Spritz - Every day I am at work, I spray this all over my clothes and all around the shop. It's beautiful. Very sweet and girlie. I got the diffuser of it a few months ago and it's still going strong, as long as you put the lid on The Body Shop''s diffusers can last you a while.
The Body Shop's Shea EDT - This smells gorgeous, absolutely gorgeous. It's so refreshing and sweet. It also has a slight masculine twang to it but I like that. I think it could actually be unisex to be fair. I used it a lot in Malta and Oktoberfest so it'll forever remind me of Holidays now! Yay!
The Body Shop's Vitamin C Facial Cleansing Polish - The past few months I have been really worrying about my skin and I had heard lots of my colleagues and customers praising this facial wash so I thought I would give it a go and I LOVE it. On the Spanish Body Shop's website it says it contains community fair trade walnut oil however it does not say that on the United Kingdom site for some reason. I know it has aloe vera in there and a heap of citrus acids (I am assuming limonene is lemon)... the fact it contains these acids would explain how it manages to make your skin so clean and radiant. Ah I loves, loves, loves it.
Batiste dry Shampoo (Cherry) - I use the 'Fresh' big one of these but picked up a mini cherry one for Oktoberfest and it was a life saver. My hair smelt fabulous and went from greasy tramp to my little pony in seconds! Be sure you do have to thoroughly rub it in as on one of the days of my trip I failed to do so and all the tall people of the world saw streaks in my hair until my friend was kind enough to tell me when I sat down, ha!
I have been loving listening to ALT-J and Ben Howard this month too. I listened to both their albums over and over again on my coach ride to and from Germany.
