thoughts after dgm 257, obvious spoilers

allen and lavi's mirrored eye situation really tickled me years ago and i was wondering if it was building up to smth, now i feel like that's definitely the case

like both of them gaining some ability (unknown what lavi's is currently, but speculation is that it's related to the cross and possibly the noahs' history) after losing their father/grandfather figure

with allen's ability is to see akuma/souls, it's exciting to see how lavi's ability will reflect allen's—maybe it's something to do with the helix? since allen can see the soul, lavi can gain the ability to see the structure of it. and lavi has always noticed allen's light, which came from past lavi's antics (helix stuff that i don't really understand) and lavi is surrounded by the helix shape in the recent merch

anyway it's so fun when characters mirror each other, like both of them struggling with giving up the person they currently are for a greater purpose (allen letting neah take over his body and lavi losing his current attachments and persona to be bookman)

also wondering what the significance of lavi's weapon being a hammer is (i hope the shape of it means something) working theory is that it could b like the judge's hammer, perhaps as the one collecting evidence of humanity's actions? something to do with the cross that wiped out civilization? also bc their weapons are called innocence i feel like the courtroom vibes are kinda strong

+ still holding onto the theory that lavi is connected to the heart somehow like many others -> like his whole arc in the ark (lol) was about how bookman has no need for a heart, and how he couldnt be that detached, heartless witness any longer. seems like it would be strange not to have him be the heart guy, tho idk how any of would specifically connect to the earl, neah, etc.
