also! i found out today that "miss to-oh" (kiyomi's nickname) is an actual position in tokyo university, aka the real life equivalent of to-oh! viz took out the indications of this, but it's essentially like a pageant contest that a lot of universities host individually every year, where the students get to vote for the winner. it's called "the university of tokyo miss & mr contest" and it's still going, you can literally see the most recent 2025 entrants here

i was thinking about what everyone around me thinks, now that i'm seeing takada-san, who's already favored by so many to become miss to-oh [/todai, the original name] despite only just entering university… after all, takada-san really is very beautiful.
