âYeahâŠJean likes to do that too.âÂ
"Maybe Jean is onto something. Does it drive you crazy? Jamie doesnât love it.â
falsecapâ:
âyeah, how unfortunate for us.â
"You sound bitter. Are you bitter?â
lhunterâ:
âimmortality, huh? thatâs a new one.â
"Give or take a few years. We can just say I was the first.â
wizardstrangeâ:
âAnd whatâs the point of a power like that?â Maybe it was an arrogant thing to say, but Stephen didnât have it in him in that moment to hold back.
"It technically brings them back. It was pretty revolutionary before the Krakoan thing.â
xshadowprydeâ:
âPirates arenât all bad,â Though most of those she knew personally were a giant sack of dicks. âPlundering, fun songs, peg legs. Whatâs not to like?âÂ
âScurvy?â Layla tosses out. âThat seems like a definite drawback. Otherwise, youâre making an excellent case for piracy.âÂ
spectormcrcâ:
Marc was about to tell her that he didnât mean that literally, but then he heard the wind shifting behind him and caught a glance of Khonshuâs robes before pointedly turning his attention back towards Layla. âThere is, yeah. All the time, for the most part.â Unfortunately. He heard Khonshu let out a low laugh at his thought, and his eye twitched with annoyance as he sighed. âItâs not as cool as it sounds.â
âIâm not totally sure it sounds like it would be cool. Iâm not religious. Never have been. Iâm also pretty sure I couldnât tell one god from another unless it was, like, Thor or Loki. Something about some big entity watching you has never sat well with me. To each their own, I guess.â
madamefontaineâ:
âIâm just making an observation here,â Valentina insisted, playing up the mock offense in her town before she shrugged. âYou canât tell me youâre not at least a little curious to see how it unfolds.â
âI spent my life knowing everything. Or, just about. This whole waiting to see how it unfolds thing is new to me.â Honestly, Layla kind of hates it.
TILLY KEEPER in YOU
oldmancableâ:
âYou want my two cents? Itâs just a different kind of mess everywhere I go. Thatâs all Iâve got to say.â
âYeah, I get that.â Laylaâs hopped around. She had come from the future at a relatively young age, bringing with her a shit ton of knowledge that gave her a leg up in the game. âPeople who donât time travel donât get how messy it is all the time.â
madamefontaineâ:
âI think the resurrection scandal is the furthest thing from peopleâs minds right now. Iâm more concerned with what the mutants are going to think about S.H.I.E.L.D. kidnapping their own. That canât be good for peaceful relations.â
âIf youâre looking for a war cry, youâre not going to get one from me.â Laylaâs never been the type. Sheâs not upper echelon or anything like that. Right now, sheâs not even rostered. Sheâs just raising Davey while Jamie works with X-Factor. âGo find Emma Frost or Scott Summers. Hell, they might even be together. Thatâd make your life easier.â
antdadâ:
âi get why you guys did it, but maybe it can be used for goodââ scott shrugged, âeven though my gut tells me the exact opposite might be true.â
âYou may want to get your gut checked out âcause it sounds like itâs lying to you.â Layla scoffs. âEven our baddies are behaving now. Harm no man, yâknow? Weâre just looking out for ourselves as well.â
ex-odusâ:
âI am not here to listen to your whining. The Avengers must deal with the consequences of their own actions in Pleasant Hill. I want no part of it.â
âHarsh. People are definitely going to whine at you, just so you know. You have one of those faces.â
spectormcrcâ:
âDonât get me wrong, not everyone has a God on their side to resurrect them whenever they want. Or a miracle mutant resurrection backup if things go south. Maybe that makes my opinion a little jaded.â
âYouâve got a God behind you? Thatâs way different than anything I do.â Laylaâs pretty sure sheâs never met a god before. Sheâs had near omnipotence ( thatâs exaggerated ) and can bring people back from the dead, but sheâs no god herself. âTrippy.â
babyfoureyesâ:
âI actuallyâŠdonât have an answer for that. Thatâs more of a bigwig, upper echelon of mutant society type of question.â
Sheâs a know it all and always has been. âI can answer it myself. I just wanted to see if you knew.â
c-yxlopsâ:
âIt was one time.â He looks sullen, serious. âSo you can laugh, one time, but then itâs time to drop it.âÂ
âI happen to have a very good memory, but Iâll do my best to blot it out.â Itâs how she knows so much. âI havenât seen you in what feels like ten years, Cyclops. Have you seen Jamie recently?â
spectormcrcâ:
âImmortality ainât all itâs cracked up to be anyways.â The news that the mutants had cracked it hadnât bothered him in the slightest, considering Khonshu had proved several times over that he could bring Marc back from death if needed.
âYouâre one of the first people Iâve talked to who feel that way. Everyone else is so up in arms about the entire thing.â
xshadowprydeâ:
âWhatâs the use if you donât train them young?â Kate crouched down and held her fingers out until the toddler waddled into the pads at the tip. With the other, she pulled the sword from the ground and out of immediate reach. âImagine him with a little tiny sword. Adorable.âÂ
âTraining is one thing. Blind stabbing is another. I have a feeling that right now weâre leaning towards the former. Correct me if Iâm wrong.â Layla shrugs. Sheâs very rarely wrong. âHeâs always adorable, so youâre not wrong. Iâm not sure how Jamie would feel about raising a mini pirate. We may have to sell him on it.â
