Why not just settle for love ?

I feel like love is the easy way to happiness / the easy way out. I look for true deep fulfilment and happiness elsewhere. But sometimes end up lost and alone (like Jack describes himself in the poem) and wonder why I don’t just settle for love instead. Why not let love be good enough, why not let love be the reason for my happiness, why not settle for that? Why seek something else to make meaning of myself?

That’s how the poem makes me think/feel, anyway.

I’m in love now tho so I don’t actually see it that way anymore. Love isn’t something to settle for tbh, true love is pure and is a gift.
