for years there had always been a lingering love between lance and gyuri; it was always one chasing after the other, but nothing official ever came into fruition with the long distance keeping them apart. in fact, with everything going on in the world, it had been a couple years since lance had physically laid eyes on gyuri - only able to communicate with each other through phone and video calls, and texts. while none of it was ever enough for him, his emotions remained strong since the first day, never wavering or being tempted by anyone else. the day she was scheduled to arrive in london to finally see him, a heavy storm poured over the city and caused delays. yet he still stood on the train platform for hours on end, with no regard for the way he was drenched from the rain. then finally, a train arrived, and he could feel his heart swell with joy and anxiety.

【 ♡ —  this wasn’t the first time they were apart. but it definitely was the hardest time for gyuri. whenever she talked to him through their phones and video calls, she would end up missing him more than before. their time together never seemed to be enough. she tried to visit him a few times, but at the last moment, there was always something that kept her from going. and just like this, two years went by. during this time, her heart never raced the way it did when she was with him. it was only racing now, because she was finally in london. if there were no more delays, she would see him again soon. the sound of heavy rain could be heard outside the train. she was supposed to have arrived an hour ago, but even the weather seemed to be against them. as the train came to a stop after a few minutes, she stepped outside while carrying her luggage. the rain drenched her almost immediately; not that it mattered because as soon as her eyes laid on him, nothing else seemed more important. lips curved into a soft smile and longing was replaced with joy. gyuri didn’t even hesitate as she ran to him and hugged him tightly. “ hey ”

between now and the moment their parents sprung up this sudden engagement between the two, miyoung never expected everything to follow through. yet somewhere along… their emotions towards each other had changed for the better, and at the same time it was all very confusing. small moments of intimacy were shared between the two as they slowly grew closer, but they had never reached the point when they’d call it love or a relationship. on the day of a very publicized engagement announcement party, miyoung felt tense and awkward, since none of it was real. every so often she and her fiance, shiyoon, would exchange knowing glances across the room and it would keep her mind at ease. as everything settled down, she approached shiyoon in privacy - which he immediately made attempts to convince her to sneak out. “ as much as I want to, we really can’t disappear… it’ll be so obvious ! all of this is for us,” she looked around the room, and for the first time in her life she wasn’t amused at the sight of all the showy, beautiful decor. “ how do you feel about everything ?” 

【 ♡ —   unlike miyoung, he always knew that everything would go the way their parents planned. he knew his own father. everything his old man wanted, he got. it was up to shiyoon to end it all before it was too late. this was his plan in the beginning. the problem was that he didn’t expect miyoung to soften his heart. he found himself actually enjoying her company and wanting more of her time. but they weren’t in a relationship. they were just – something. and now they were officially engaged. “ let it be obvious. this isn’t for us. it’s for them. so, i don’t care. you do ? ” his tone held a slight tempting hint as he tried to convince her one last time, because while he didn’t care about the party, he cared about what she wanted. shiyoon looked around the room with a bit of annoyance. “ i feel trapped. “ his eyes returned to her when he asked: “ but how do you feel ? ”

i was gone for longer than i was hoping for this time ... oops sorry ! i’m two months away from graduating, so my teachers have been more demanding and my life has been crazier. it’s only two more months hopefully. after that i’ll be on holidays and i’ll be around more often  💕 until then, i’ll sadly continue being slow. i’ll be around tonight or tomorrow morning to work on drafts though. i have the weekend off :)

【 ♡ — WORK MADE THINGS a bit more complicated now, but soobin remembered being young and always spending her friday’s evenings in her bedroom, eating caramelized popcorns and watching a full drama with a lot of unexpected twists. even then, the model preferred to watch dramatic shows, with a lot of fancy clothes and famous or extremely rich people. this wasn’t something that had changed. she had also passed the ‘ gossip girl ’ and ‘ the heirs ’ phase too. however now, she actually tended to watch dramas and shows about powerful women. perhaps because they always made a difference somehow. “ i feel like we are the only ones who hadn’t watched this ” she commented in amusement, several minutes after the first episode started. the doorbell sounded in the apartment after she spoke. “ it must be our pasta. don’t stop the episode because of me. i’ll be back quickly ” soobin said when she turned to her, offering her a soft smile before getting up from the couch to get the door.

【 ♡ — IF GABRIEL WASN’T misunderstanding the situation like he so often seemed to do, he could understand why this was weird to her. however, he honestly hadn’t intended to offend her in any possible way. he was just – trying to be a father, while still learning how to be one. he couldn’t even be sure that he was doing the right thing, but this didn’t seem wrong to him either. what felt wrong was to continue allowing ahreum to pay everything for their son, while he stood on the back, only watching. now, this definitely felt wrong. “ alright ” gabriel nodded when she agreed. “ if it makes you feel better, we can get a bank account only for him. i can deposit the money there ”

jinri shook her head. “you don’t need to worry about me. as long as you’re not cheating on me behind my back, i’ll be okay,” she reassured him, closing her eyes momentarily to just absorb this rare moment that she got to have with him. whoever thought dating an idol was the dream clearly had never dated an idol before. how difficult it was to not even get to see one another. “sounds good,” she nodded her head as she let go of him so that they could eat. “okay!” she exclaimed as she took a seat at the table, her eyes happily staring down at all the food.. “well dig in!” she noted as she quickly looked to find the largest drumstick and settled it on his plate. “here, eat up while you have the chance,” she smiled at him before giggling as she grabbed a piece for herself.

【 ♡ — SHE WAS reassuring him, but yeol could only focus on the words that she had chosen. at first, confusion came across his brown eyes, but it was soon replaced with amusement. “ cheating on you behind your back ? ” he asked, unable to stop the humorous smile from appearing. “ have you been watching many dramas lately ? why would i cheat on you ? it’s already too hard to live a secret life with you. i can’t live two secrets lives ” he laughed in pure mirth, only joking with her. a soft smile was offered to her, when she served him first. this was only their first day living together but he could get used to this life very quickly. instead of eating like she told him too, he poured some drink into a glass and offered it to her. “ alright. but drink something while you eat ”

     by  nature,  lance  had  always  been  reclusive.  not  because  he  was  shy  (  which  was  true  )  but  because  he  preferred  to  keep  to  himself  a  majority  of  the  time.  though  as  kylie  had  been  such  a  prominent  figure  in  his  life  since  he  was  ten,  even  closer  to  him  than  his  own  sisters  at  times,  he’d  always  been  able  to  be  more  vulnerable  with  her.  perhaps  it  was  his  own  loneliness  speaking  to  him,  but  at  this  point  in  his  life  he  felt  as  though  he  deserved  happiness  in  this  form,  that  was  why  fate  properly  brought  them  together  again.  every  single  time  he  spoke  to  her,  or  simply  even  glanced  in  her  direction,  his  smile  was  always  bright  and  eyes  were  laced  with  pure  adoration.  even  with  her  playfully  mocking  him,  lance  looked  to  the  femme  as  if  she  spoke  to  him  with  flattery.  “  fine.  then  yes  kylie,  I’m  very  excited  and  honored  to  be  here  with  you,  ”  although  the  words  were  intended  to  be  a  teasing  retort,  every  word  he  spoke  was  secretly  genuine.  it  was  obvious  in  his  soft  tone  and  affectionate  expression.  then  the  moment  between  them  was  lost  when  the  plane  landed  and  they  were  forced  to  grab  their  belongings  and  disembark  from  the  plane.  after  doing  so,  he  finally  turned  to  her  with  a  proper  response.  “  that  would  be  best.  at  least  to  drop  off  our  luggage.  it’ll  be  uncomfortable  and  a  little  touristy  to  drag  everything  around  while  we  go  eat.  ”  the  image  of  that  in  his  mind  was  enough  to  make  him  chuckle.  “  do  we  have  arrangements  to  be  driven  and  dropped  off  or  is  that  something  we’ll  have  to  figure  out  ourselves  ?” 

【 ♡ — WHENEVER SHE found herself staring at him for longer than she probably should, kylie found herself wondering if he realized how doomed he was. because she wasn’t going anywhere. they met a long time ago when they were only children, but no matter how many years had already passed, she was content where she was. even the years when they couldn’t see each other, she stayed in touch with him. she tried to not be absent from his life and kylie would like to think that she was successful in the end. however, she couldn’t deny that it seemed unreal being with him in rome. she really hadn’t dreamed for this much, but life seemed to be rooting for them to share all these moments together. his teasing retort made her laugh and she almost asked him if he was going soft on her for agreeing so quickly, planning to continue their usual banter. sadly, she didn’t have the chance to. after disembarking and already walking towards the airport gate, she nodded. “ i guess… walking around with our luggage is very… convenient ” she laughed. that definitely wouldn’t be how she imagined their first day in italy. “ we do. we have a car and a driver only for us. we don’t have to use it all the time, but i thought that it would be better for long distances ”

“That’s good advice,” she nervously chuckled. Sorom was fascinated with his way of thinking. Standing in front of that camera usually made her feel small, ridiculed, that she often didn’t think about what she was trying to do other than sell a product. She didn’t hate it…she had fun every once in a while, she just didn’t see herself like the other girls at all. One whole year with the agency and she still felt out of place. 

But then they were in the studio. The sketches Sorom now held to her chest were freely handed to the designer she’d gotten to know rather well and gave a small little greeting, but stayed next to Minjae after her hands were free. She didn’t really want their conversation to end even though they’d finished what she’d set out to do. 

“Um…do you think we could meet again?” she asked him. The model’s cheeks turned pink. She wasn’t used to asking people out. Suddenly the idea of a camera didn’t seem nearly as intimidating as this did.

【 ♡ — HONESTLY, MINJAE didn’t think of himself as someone who was good at advising others and he was even worse at advising himself. he led a strange life to many, but he didn’t see it as being strange. he just enjoyed to be free. that was why he refused to sign a more permanent contract with an agency. he preferred to make his own decisions. his preferences also changed quite often and he wanted to have the freedom to choose whatever path matched his mood at the time. so, no – perhaps his advices weren’t the best. but he still offered it to her without intending to. he supposed that as long as it was helpful to her, that was what mattered. the sketches were given to her when she gave them to the designer. her question made him look to her before nodding his head. “ sure. i have the first session of the workshop tomorrow morning. maybe we can meet after ? ”

wooyoung was relieved that it seemed they both liked the food that he had come up with. he had never thought himself to be a bad cook, but he certainly wasn’t amazing either. “i did look up a few just to get some reference,” he admitted, “but at least i had the ideas of what i wanted to eat, you know?” he pointed out to her. “i’m glad you approve. i wish i could make this more often at home,” he sighed. however, their work schedules meant that, if he weren’t running around in the hospital, he would be sleeping. the only reason they got to see each other at times was because of work.

【 ♡ — COOKING DEFINITELY wasn’t one of her talents. hyorin thought of herself as someone good at many things – like studying, deciphering riddles, making coffee in a machine, keeping herself awake whenever she had many shifts – however, cooking wasn’t impossible to her. she couldn’t even do what he did. she had tried to use online recipes and to look at pictures to get inspired, but it wasn’t worth it. nothing worked. and that was why she appreciated this breakfast even more. “ i know what you mean ” she nodded. “ it still tastes better than anything i would cook ” she said jokingly, but with an obvious seriousness too. “ me too. sometimes a homemade meal is exactly what i need after a long shift, but i don’t have strength for anything “

                    “i’m pretty sure i had a reason at first but… i can’t remember it anymore. now that i think about it, i guess it was pretty irrational to think you wouldn’t have believed me.” it was a little embarrassing, she had to admit, that she’d only revealed the truth now, after the amount of time they’ve known each other. it wasn’t like she was doing anything wrong by talking to him online first. monday was sheepish when she spoke but managed to look at him again. “but… isn’t it cool that we actually got to meet in person?”

jinhwan nodded his head. he understood the deeper meaning of what she was trying to say. they had agreed to ending things and so going back to what things were wouldn’t ever happen. “i see,” he murmured, grabbing some water and taking a sip. he bit down on his bottom lip, unsure of what else to say. he didn’t want to pressure her further, feeling like she would just get aggravated if he did. after all, didn’t people hate it when you kept asking them something they had already said no to? “maybe … maybe i should move out sometime then,” he exclaimed. “it’s probably better that way if it’s causing more problems to live together, right?” he asked. 

【 ♡ — ONE OF THEM moving out seemed like the natural step to do after a break up, something that they should have probably done a long time ago. they didn’t break up only a few days ago. it also hadn’t been only a week since this decision. several months had already passed since then and neither of them moved out until now. so – did one of them actually have to move out now ? that’s what lian found herself wondering for a moment, knowing that even if she was feeling a bit unsure about this, she knew this was the best for them. “ hm. if that’s what you want… ” she ended up agreeing, turning her attention to the stove since she didn’t want to burn their breakfast. “ but the rent is cheaper like this and you aren’t causing troubles to me. am i causing you troubles ? ” lian asked, not being able to stop herself. “ if the problem is the girls you bring home, you can text me and i’ll stay in a friend’s place for the night ”

minjae hated that his work took so much time away from both his wife and his son. he knew he could be better at managing his work - life balance, but sometimes, it felt like he really couldn’t. that in order to keep his job and help support his family, he had to work harder. unfortunately, the losers in this situation weren’t his job or his clients but his family. he vowed to do better, but it wasn’t an easy situation to manage. “mmm, maybe,” he chuckled softly, his thumb grazing the top of her hand gently as he held her hand. “that many weddings? why don’t everyone just get married like how we did?” he joked. not that he would have recommended that to anyone. and well, he supposed if she didn’t have weddings to plan, then she would be out of a job. “it’s busy. the clients .. well, just as you have as many weddings to plan, i have as many divorces to help get rid of their marriages for them.” it was a sad reality, and one in which made him very adverse to marriage at the start, but he was glad that minkyu changed his mind about all that. 

【 ♡ — THE JOKE MADE her laugh. nothing could be less romantic than their wedding. for someone who planned perfect weddings for others, she always dreamed about having a beautiful wedding of her own. nonetheless, a wedding in las vegas couldn’t exactly be classified as a ‘ dream come truth ’ wedding. not that hyeri could complain much because they did get a more traditional wedding after minkyu was born. and the truth was that if she could go back in time, she wouldn’t change anything. she would have still married him in las vegas. “ maybe because if they did, you would have a lot more divorces ” hyeri pointed out in amusement. “ are you trying to close my store ? ” she asked him teasingly, a soft smile appearing on her lips. as the conversation went to his work and all the divorces he was working on, she nodded in understanding. “ i think after we got together, i started to understand your job more. sometimes… divorces are needed, i guess ”

saerom didn’t quite understand why they couldn’t just talk about it here. was it such a private thing? but since she was crying, she supposed it made sense that it would be better for them to talk somewhere more private. “okay,” she whispered softly, grabbing her things and wiping at her eyes before getting up and following him out of the cafe. the warm sun hitting her face normally was a welcome thing, but today, it felt like it was burning at her. she was eager to find out what was on his mind, and she just wished that they could get to his place faster so she could find out what exactly it was that had caused them this pain to begin with.

【 ♡ — WOOJIN ACTUALLY felt relieved when she agreed with him. talking to her about what was in his mind and in his heart in a coffee store was the last thing he wanted. not only because he didn’t know what to tell her, but also because he didn’t know how she would react. did he even have a reason to be so worried ? it should be obvious how she would react – she already knew. didn’t she ? his mind kept telling him so. the sun outside would have been enjoyed, if he wasn’t worried with the conversation that they were going to have. at least his place wasn’t too far away. a few minutes was all it took for them to get there. walking inside, he first checked to be sure that his brother wasn’t around before he turned to her. “ do you want to drink something ? ”
