Do you really want to hurt me? Do you really want to make me cry… The music plays on the background, Eric smiles to the tune and lets broad shoulders rise up and down to its melody. Mouthing the words, he starts vocalizing them with a goofy smile, “Precious kisses words that burn me, lovers never ask you why…”
attentive eyes watched as eric seemed to get lost in the song, a smile rising on her lips as she watched him. soft curls bounced as the brunette ‘danced’ along to the song, as she hummed along. “you know, with a voice like that you should really consider auditioning for the voice,” she teased.
—- “okay, so I have been working on a little something, and i have an odd request,” oliver looked at the other seriously. “alright, i need you to punch me in the face. you in?” it was a moment before a smirk appeared.
“i beg your pardon?” the request was odd to say the least but perhaps what was most shocking was the smile on the boy’s face. “you want me to punch you? why??”
—- “your aura is quite loud today,” addy noted, lglancing at the other person. “if you want, i could show you how to align your chakras, or give you advice on how to best maximise your aura,” she casually replied, looking back down at her ds.
“um,” lady hesitated, eyebrows knitting as she debated the girl’s offer, “it is?” truth be told, the brunette had no idea the other meant exactly. “sure?” she sighed, hazel eyes following the other as she went back to her ds.
*cue a dumb ellie who technically forgot to make an intro post* hello, friends! ♡ so i realized i’m an idiot and while i was like hey, how you doin’, i never actually posted anything about lady or whatnot. so this is me fixing that bc it’ll probably help with plotting/me getting that connection page up. so without further ado, here’s lady ——
twenty-two, she/her, college senior ( history major & dance minor ).
she’s originally from somewhere in the midwest ( tbd ) but has lived in carthay for the past two years. after an incident involving her little brother she was basically kicked out from home and sent to live with her aunt sarah.
yet carthay wasn’t exactly ‘new territory’. growing up she spent a lot of summers visiting her aunt sarah with her parents. usually spending weeks to months of her summer vacation in carthay.
she’s an absolute fucking lady??? hence the name lol. no but seriously, she’s like this cute little southern belle minus the southern part cause she’s from the midwest. but like she’s carries herself in such a proper and graceful way, always super polite to everyone, always saying please and thank you, the kind that write thank you cards to people when they give her something.
while she’s definitely grown out of her shell since coming to carthay, there are still moments when the ‘old lady’ ( the girl she was back home ) comes to surface. like she’s still pretty shy upon meeting new people and doesn’t always have the most confidence. she’s still extremely naive, too trusting of anyone and everyone she crosses paths with.
lady’s definitely an optimistic and the one to see the good in everything and everyone. she’s kind of like a guiding light, always trying to help others and encourage them to be kind and good. she’s extremely loyal to those she cares about, putting them first without any hesitation.
she grew up as an only child and because of that, lady turned out to be a tad spoiled. not in the ‘i’m better than you way’ but more so that she’s used to the devoted attention and affection of others. it also made her a bit competitive, always wanting to be the best of the best whether that meant getting the best grades or lead solo.
while it takes a lot to upset the girl, once she’s upset there’s no going back. she’s as stubborn as a mule and knows how to hold a grudge. she’ll rarely change her mind about something once it’s made. though that doesn’t mean she doesn’t know to forgiv. she has a heart too big for her own good and she’ll easily forgive, which is sometimes good, sometimes not, since she’ll easily give second chances time and time again.
she’s easily the ‘mom friend’ — making her friends text her once they’re home safely, feeding them at all times, scorning them when necessary, being the shoulder to cry on, leaving random little love notes for them, having bandaids and snack in her bag.
carthay’s brought out a more darling lady. while she’s still carries herself as such and can be quite timid around new people, she’s definitely always up for a new adventure, even risking getting scorned or locked out of the house by her aunt sarah if it guarantee’s doing or exploring something new.
if you read all of that, you go glen coco! ( bc i wrote a bit more than i wanted to and still left some stuff out which i’ll probably make hc’s so this post doesn’t turn into a novel ). but that’s pretty much lady in a nutshell. if anyone would like to plot pls message me or like this and i’ll shoot you a message. anyway, thanks friends! ♡♡
Feet up against a silver railing, arms resting over jean-clothed knees. He lifts up his gaze and finds her dark hair and pale skin set against the summer sky. With a smile he nods her way and stands, then takes and easy jump from inside the boat unto the small platform to greet an old friend. “Good thing we’re not actually sailing” The man teases as he takes both items from her hand and offers his hand to help her into the yacht. “Welcome aboard”.
“what do you mean we’re not sailing?” a fake pout making itself on her lips as he feigns disappointment by the news, “excuse me, sir, drunk sailing was the only reason i agreed to this rendezvous.” she’s able to keep up the act for only mere seconds before a smile cracks on her face, light laughter leaving her lips. "you know, that’s probably for the best. i’d rather not end up on the front page of the newspaper due to a ‘freak accident’.” she hands him both items, taking his hand to step inside the yacht. “thank you, captain,” she curtsey’s, laughing at herself as she shakes her head and makes her way into the yacht.
fact: lady hadn’t been the most optimistic about her mother’s pregnancy. fact: the idea of a baby sibling brought out a jealous side of lady that even the girl herself didn’t know existed. fact: the moment jim jr. looked up at her with those sweet, innocent eyes, lady found herself struggling to hold on to that feeling.
lady’s relationship with her little brother is complicated to say the least. he came into her life when she least expected it, he turned her world upside down, and yet he managed to steal her heart. while lady may not win ‘sister of the year’ anytime soon, she knows she tried the best she could to look out for him and give him the love and care he needed. sure, most of the times lady managed to screw things up one way or another: an overheated bottle, a messy diaper, not knowing how to stop him from crying. she knows she messed up more times than one, especially after the incident that earned her a one way ticket to aunt sarah’s house but nonetheless, she genuinely tried her best.
though there was one thing lady seemed to be good at — getting him to sleep at night. it happened one night by total accident as she was struggling to get him to fall asleep. she took him outside and sat with him on the back porch, pointing out the stars and constellations. it worked, calming him down and getting him to sleep. it became pretty much the only quality time she was able to have with him without worrying about messing it up somehow. as he got a bit older, the nighttime stargazing began to have more meaning behind it, reminding him that no matter how far he’d stray away, he’d always be able to find his way home.
megara tried to keep a smile on her face yet the emotionless side of her begged her to stop, knowing that the small smile could fool just about anyone. “lovely it is,” she teased, hating the pun she just made herself. “but alas, you didn’t. i’d have to throw the tot out,” she continued. “arnold palmer.. with the alcohol i’m assuming? or are you the type to fuck with a virgin?”
the brunette chuckles lightly, nodding her head softly. “if it’s any consolation, i promise not too get too rowdy,” she jokes. while it wouldn’t take much for lady to get drunk, it wouldn’t be something she’d ever to at a bar much less by herself. “right, yes, of course. no toddlers under twenty-one allowed, right?” she jokes. wow, could the joke been any lamer? she tries to hide the disappointment in her failed attempt at a joke. placing both hands on her lap, she shifts awkwardly in her seat as she keeps her eyes on the girl. “um, yes?” she hesitates. while she didn’t necessarily want an alcoholic beverage, she had made the foolish mistake of walking into a bar expecting to not be offered that exactly. “yes, please,” she asserts herself, “i’ll have an arnold palmer with alcohol ..”
your temperament is sanguine. the sanguine temperament is fundamentally spontaneous and pleasure-seeking; sanguine people are sociable and charismatic. they tend to enjoy social gatherings, making new friends and tend to be boisterous. they are usually quite creative and often daydream. however, some alone time is crucial for those of this temperament. sanguine can also mean sensitive, compassionate and thoughtful. sanguine personalities generally struggle with following tasks all the way through, are chronically late, and tend to be forgetful and sometimes a little sarcastic. often, when they pursue a new hobby, they lose interest as soon as it ceases to be engaging or fun. they are very much people persons. they are talkative and not shy. sanguines generally have an almost shameless nature, certain that what they are doing is right. they have no lack of confidence.
“my parents attention,” she answers softly. she can’t help but feel a bit foolish by the answer she gives but it’s the truth, nonetheless. “it’s a bit different here, especially with my aunt sarah. i mean, it’s not that she doesn’t care about me, i’m sure she does, but it seems like the only time she gives me the time of day is when i do something wrong and it’s like she suddenly remembers i’m there ..” she trails off, growing quiet for a moment as she tries to mask the sadness away with a small smile, “my parents, they’re amazing. they’ve always been the most supportive. growing up they were always at every recital or competition, cheering me on. they’d always say how proud they were of me and how much they loved me, how i’d always be their little lady.”
“Crap!” breathing out a rush of air from between her teeth, Stephanie really hadn’t meant to slam the door as she was leaving the floral shop, but the armful of cardboard in her arms didn’t leave much to be desired as far as the ability to open and close doors on her own. Realizing she startled someone, she quickly apologizes, “I’m so sorry, I really didn’t mean for that to happen. I didn’t frighten you too much did I?” While she adjusted her hold on the cardboard, trying to maneuver it beneath her arm, Steph’s attention was solely on the other woman, eyes wide with concern.
a warm smile finds its way onto lady’s lips as she shakes her head, accepting the girl’s apology. "it’s fine, don’t worry about it. no, not at all. you just brought my head back from the clouds,” she chuckles softly. her eyes fall to the cardboard the girl is shifting in her arms. “would you like some help?” she offers.
Jasmine had been walking to her car with a rather… interesting collection of items and far too much for one person to be carrying. Nonetheless, the girl has always been a big believer in making one trip over two– except now she was beginning to question that. In one arm she carried a large cardboard box filled to the brim with rope, old shoes, and a beach ball among some other things, while the other arm was busy trying to roll a tire in a straight line. She was so close to making it to the car, but when she tried to get her keys out of her pocket to pop the trunk, the box fell out of her arms sprawling the contents across the sidewalk while the tire was close to rolling into somebody. “Oh shi- Look out!”
it won’t take me more than half an hour — that’s the promise lady makes to her aunt sarah in order to be given permission to drive her aunt’s car. a promise she fully intends to keep, or at least tried to, as she makes her way out toward the car with two bags in hand. she’s so close, just two cars away when she hears someone call out in warning. there’s no time to think much less to react, the next thing lady knows is that she’s being hit by a loose tire. a cry of pain leaves her lip as she looks up towards the source. “oh, goodness! are you okay?” she asks, leaving her bags on the ground as she rushes to help the other, “here, let me help.”
