What if Soap sometimes doodled on Ghost. At first on his arms only, maybe he even sketches out a continuation of Ghost's half-sleeve tattoo. Using just a pen that is a bitch to scrub off after and Ghost bitches so much about it. But for some reason he lets Soap do this more often.
One time Soap is more prepared- he bought body paint and brushes and Simon realizes he loves the feeling of soft brush strokes and wet paint on his skin.
He feels all kinds of stuff when Johnny looks at him with so much focus, when he touches his skin with so much care.
Next time Simon lets Soap paint his back and he has to bait into the pillow he lies on, to not let out any embarrassing noises.
He lets him paint his chest and his belly. Ghost tightly grips the sheets to stop the shivers going through him with every move of Soap's paint brush.
Soap convinces him to let him paint his legs, his thighs. He moves his legs and shies away every time Soap as much as touches him, and Johnny complains and tells him to stay still, but he can't. It tickles so much, and he wasn't tickled in years, if ever. He is filled with so much happiness, he can't stop giggling.
Soap pretends to be annoyed, but his eyes show how grateful he is to be able to see Ghost like that, to make him feel like that.
At some point, Soap paints almost his whole body. When he is done he leads Ghost to a mirror to show him the results.
Ghost tears up, because Soap made his body look beautiful again. Every single scar was painted in gold, every single line seemed to belong. Simon didn't feel this good in his body in a long time.
And Soap stands beside him, not looking in the mirror, but at Simon. Because Johnny finds him beautiful with or without paint, he is so happy and proud of himself that he managed to make Simon see himself through his eyes. Beautiful.
