Over the next few days, I’m going to share some recipes from the very rare and out-of-print Synergetic Stew: Explorations in Dymaxion Dining. 🌐 The first recipe for Snow Candy (scroll 👉) is from Bucky Fuller’s friend, Neva Goodwin. ❄️🍬SNOW CANDY🍬❄️ Or: what do with your excess snow. “Waste is just a wrongly utilized resource.” - Buckminster Fuller 1 cup sugar 1/4 cup molasses 1 stick butter 1 tbs vinegar 1 tbs boiling water A few grains of salt Combine all ingredients in a heavy pot. Stir. Heat to between 238 and 290F. (The hotter you make it the harder it will get.) Take the pot outside and dribble the mixture onto the snow in patterns— lines, dots, whatever. In a few minutes, when it is cool and hard, lift it with forks. Indoors, put it onto cake racks until any snow that came with it has dripped off. .
