I just finished 91 days and can I just say it’s so impressive how despite being filled to the brim with violence, the show manages to keep its violence and deaths weighty and consequential?!?! I feel like so often in shows where someone dies at every step, new deaths/violent moments just start to feel routine and unimportant and 91 days avoids that. LIke usually when I’m watching mafia/mobster films I don’t care about the deaths bc I expect characters to die all the time. Here, I cared SO much.

No narration, no internal monologue, no planning scenes. No insight into the edged, ever-shifting scheming of Angelo Legusa/Avilio Bruno. The limited third person perspective gives no helping hand to guide you through the psychology of the protagonist. Angelo is incredible at reading and manipulating people while giving extraordinarily little away at all. The betrayals are almost clinically executed, if his sole purpose wasn’t emotionally-driven vengeance. The blood-soaked cycle of revenge is cold, cold and empty.
