love the worlds win, i’m ignoring that we haven’t done it in 90-something years in favor of noticing that like 4 of our guys will be in the olympic roster.

like werenski might actually be the only lock if sway starts this season like he started the last. hopefully they bring tage thompson but like i can’t see more than one of the other guys making our olympic roster. that team had not a single hughes or tkachuk, and our best goalies weren’t there.

meanwhile sweden and canada have like 60-80% of their olympic teams there (barring mcdavid there aren’t really any big stars missing)(makar is a different thing)(yes ur pookie isn’t there but he is not in the advertising) and so do switzerland and czechia. and they lost. like imaging having sidney mf crosby on ur team and losing to denmark.

the difference between being drafted to a hockey market vs a non hockey market is so interesting to me. like you’re 18 years old and got drafted to a canadian/original six team and your bff got drafted to like… the sharks and for some reason half the city hates you for not already being an all star whereas no one really cares about how your bff does besides the team and a few reporters who are much nicer to him. and sure maybe your season is really good, but you aren’t [insert legend here] so that means half the city hates you.
