DO IT. NOW.
Get ready to vote!
Are you waiting for next yearāāāthe 2018 midtermsāāāto cast your first vote against the Trump/GOP agenda?
You might not have to wait that long.
We researched every election coming up next month, and we found that at least 100 million Americans have a state, city, or district election on November 7. Thatās about 1 out of every 3 people nationwide!
Weāve compiled a handy list of these elections. Find out whether you have an election, and make your plan for voting. (If you live in Virginia or Washington state, check out our website for more info about these crucial electionsāāāand donate to help Flippable candidates win.)
Statewide Elections
94 million Americans have statewide elections on November 7. There are lots of seats at stake in New Jersey and Virginia (including the governor and the state legislature), while other states have ballot initiatives on major issues like healthcare and criminal justice:
Maine: Ballot measure to expand Medicaid, plus 4 more
New Jersey: Governor, Lt. Governor, all 120 state legislative seats
New York: Ballot measure to call a state constitutional convention, plus 2 more
Ohio: Ballot measures on criminal justice and drug prices
Pennsylvania: State judicial elections (Supreme, Superior, and Commonwealth Courts)
Texas: Ballot measures (7 total)
Virginia: Governor, Lt. Governor, Attorney General, all 100 seats in the State House
Washington state: Ballot measure on property tax, plus 2 more
City Elections

Atlanta (GA): Mayor and city council
Aurora (CO): City council
Boise (ID): City council
Boston (MA): Mayor and city council
Buffalo (NY): Mayor and city court
Charlotte (NC): Mayor and city council
Cincinnati (OH): Mayor and city council
Cleveland (OH): Mayor and city council
Columbus (OH): City council, city attorney, and city auditor
Detroit (MI): Mayor, city clerk, and city council
Durham (NC): Mayor and city council
Greensboro (NC): Mayor and city council
Jersey City (NJ): Mayor and city council
Miami (FL): Mayor and city council
Minneapolis (MN): Mayor and city council
New York City (NY): Mayor, city council, comptroller, public advocate, and borough presidents
Orlando (FL): City council
Philadelphia (PA): District attorney and city controller
Pittsburgh (PA): Mayor and city council
Raleigh (NC): Mayor and city council
Seattle (WA): Mayor and city council
St. Petersburg (FL): Mayor and city council
St. Paul (MN): Mayor

Congressional and Legislative Seats
There are 220 state legislative seats up for grabs in New Jersey & Virginia, plus 30 seats in other states across the country. Heads up, Utah: you have a U.S. Congressional election!
Georgia: State Senate districts 6 and 39, State House districts 4, 26, 42, 60, 89, 117, and 119
Maine: State House district 56
Massachusetts: State House districts Berkshire 1 and Essex 3
Michigan: State House districts 1 and 109
Mississippi: State House districts 38 and 54
Missouri: State Senate district 8, State House districts 23 and 151
New Hampshire: State House districts Hillsborough 15 and Sullivan 1
New Jersey: All 120 state legislative seats
South Carolina: State House district 113
Utah: 3rd Congressional district
Virginia: All 100 seats in the State House
Washington: State Senate districts 7, 31, 37, 45, and 48, State House districts 7, 31, and 48.
Make your voting plan
If you donāt see your state or town listed here, donāt assume you canāt vote on November 7. Follow these steps to make sure youāre ready on Election Day:
Check your registration.
Search for your local elections office.
Make a plan to vote (find your polling place, arrange a ride, put Election Day in your calendar).
There are even more elections in the month after Election Day (most notably the U.S. Senate race in Alabama on December 12). If you donāt have an election, you probably know someone who does. Reach out & encourage them to vote!
These off-year elections often see low turnout and razor-thin margins, so every vote is important. We arenāt waiting for 2018 to start winning bigāāāand you donāt have to, either.
UPDATE: Since publishing, weāve added three more state legislative races to our list: New York Assembly districts 27 and 71, and New York State Senate district 27.
*How did we get to 100 million? We added up the populations of all the states, cities, and districts with elections on Nov. 7, 2017. You can check our math on Statistical Atlas.
VOTE. VOTE LIKE YOUR LIFE DEPENDS ON IT. EVERY ELECTION COUNTS RIGHT NOW. SEND A MESSAGE TO EVERY LEVEL OF GOVERNMENT. THIS IS A COUNTRY OF THE PEOPLE, BY THE PEOPLE, FOR THE PEOPLE.
So I got my bad tooth pulled out earlier today...
...so that new dental practice(actually it was an oral surgeonās office)was pretty good.Ā Ā Ā Ā The oral surgeon was actually able to pull out that bad tooth quite quickly(it took him less than a minute to pull it out) and overall,it was a pretty good experience(although they were unable to give me pain medicines because of the fact that I cannot tolerate Tyenol[and also I canāt have any NSAIDs]).Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Now if only the bleeding will stop
Grr....
....you know how I said earlier that the dental practice prescribed me codeine.....well,it turns out that they didnāt prescribed me codeine....they prescribed me Vicoprofen(which is a drug combination of Hydrocodone and Ibuprofen).....I cannot take Vicoprofen because of the Ibuprofen part.Ā Ā Ā I have Crohnās Disease and if I were to take any form of Ibuprofen,it could worsen my Crohnās Disease and potentially land me in the hospital.Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Anyways,I should probably write a review on Yelp(and it certainly wonāt be a positive review).Ā
So that new dentist whom I talked about yesterday...
...he(or more accurately, his dental practice) gave up on me.Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā You see,I went to the dental practiceās emergency dental earlier today(because although Iāve been taking the antibiotics, the rotten tooth is still hurting extremely bad[to the point where Iām constantly screaming in pain])and I got an x-ray,and then afterwards, they essentially cancelled the tooth extraction date because they claimed that they didnāt have any oral surgeons(it turns out have 2 oral surgeons)who are capable of handling my rotten tooth combined with my chronic health issues, but at least they were willing to prescribe me some codeine for the very severe dental pain.Ā Ā Thankfully,I got an appointment with a different dental place on Thursday.Ā Ā Ā Ā Also, another good thing happened to me earlier today......Vincent DāOnofrio sent me a big virtual hug on Twitter, which Iām still very happy about(and yes,I did include a screenshot of that tweet).Ā Ā
Another update on my rotten tooth....
....last Monday(October 23rd),I finished round 2 of the antibiotics, then the next day,I went to a consultation appointment to finally see a dentist who would be willing to my pull out my bad tooth(heās also wants to eventually pull out my wisdom teeth, which I donāt mind at all)and I got a tooth removal appointment for November 21st(however,I am on the cancellation list,so hopefully,Iāll get this tooth pulled sooner).Ā Ā Ā Unfortunately, the tooth infection came back as soon as I finished round 2 of the antibiotics,so earlier today,I began round 3 of the antibiotics(last night,I had a hard time sleeping because of the tooth infection, which I canāt remember that ever happening in my life).Ā Ā Ā Ā
Another update
So from 09/23/2017 to 09/27/2017(09/23/17 being the first day of me taking the antibiotics and 09/27/2017 of me taking the antibiotics),I took the antibiotics for a nasty tooth infection and taking the antibiotics turned out better than I expected it would. Unfortunately,a few weeks later, that tooth infection came back(and I had to see a new dentist yesterday because my old dentist didnāt want to see me)so beginning today,Iāll be taking the antibiotics 3 times a day for 7 days.
Sorry that I havenāt posted in a while....
....anyways,I got a tooth infection and Iām gonna have to begin taking Amoxcillin tomorrow(4 times a day for 5 days).Ā Ā Ā Ā
quick reminder to all of you who take prescribed antidepressants, antianxolants, etc. Please, please, stay cool this summer. It is incredibly important that you remain hydrated and in the shade as much as possible to avoid overheating. Your meds can increase your body temperature. If you feel faint, get inside, lie down, and drink a glass of ice water. Your body is a lovely muffin thatās at that perfect stage of golden brown. DO NOT cook yourself.Ā
Wait. Antidepressants can make you overheat more quickly??? This makes so much sense, wow..
Yes, they can!
also if you take any ADD/ADHD meds like adderall or vyvanse remember to drink a lot because those meds are pretty dehydrating!
Holy shit this makes so much sense.
Yeah many ADHD/add meds are diuretics soā¦.
if youāre in alaska, one of your senators is lisa murkowski. she criticized the first version of Trumpcare because it would defund planned parenthood. flood her office. visit her in person if you can. tell her to vote no on Trumpcare.
if youāre in maine, one of your senators is susan collins. she also criticized the first version of Trumpcare. call and visit her office if you can. tell her to vote no on trumpcare.
if youāre in nevada, one of your senators is dean heller. hillary clinton won nevada by a pretty healthy margin, and in 2016 nevada elected catherine cortez-masto. heller is up for reelection in 2018. visit his office. flood him with calls. tell him that youāll have his job on a plate if he votes yes on Trumpcare.
the republicans are only in the majority in the senate by two seats. at least three senators have to vote against the bill to avoid a tiebreaker by the vice president. these three senators probably represent the best chance to flip.
do your thing
Being a woman is a health-care liability again.
RAPE, POSTPARTUM DEPRESSION, C-SECTIONS, AND SURVIVING DOMESTIC VIOLENCE WILL BE āPRE-EXISTING CONDITIONSā UNDER TRUMPāS PROPOSED HEALTHCARE REFORMĀ
THIS WILL MAKE RAPE AND DOMESTIC VIOLENCE DE FACTO LEGAL, IF YOU REPORT RAPE OR DOMESTIC VIOLENCE YOU WILL RISK LOSING YOUR INSURANCE!! THIS LAW WILL HELP PROTECT RAPISTS!!
CALL YOUR SENATORS NOW TO VOTE THIS DOWN!!!
Phone numbers (x) REBLOG THIS SHIT LIKE WILDFIRE!!
@thebibliosphere Please signal boost!
I think Iāve reblogged like 4 different versions of this but I donāt care. This is despicable and it needs to be stopped. Give them hell.
So yeah.
heartburn is on this list, guys. and it passed in the House with 4 votes.Ā
CALL YOUR SENATORS NOW.
This has a nasty side effect of discouraging the mentally ill from seeking any kind of care for their illness because whoops, if you see a doctor for depression, you might lose access to all your healthcare.
Sharing this here because being fat is on the list (obesity). But holy shit, disabled and mentally ill people can lose their insurance based on those conditions? How is that legal?

so normally i wouldnt reblog something like this w a comment outside of tags but like. i didnāt believe this at first, or, i didnāt want to. so i did research. several trusted sources back this information up. i wanted to believe the list of pre-existing conditions was fake, but it is, again, backed up by several other trustworthy sources.
i feel sick. i canāt believe this is happening. i checked multiple sources to try to understand it better and maybe like see why people would want this and my conclusion? they just donāt care about us. not just that, it hurts some of THEM too. the only fucking reason i find justification for this is if you donāt suffer from anything. this directly benefits people who donāt suffer from these things as well as directly hurts people who DO suffer from these things.
i really REALLY didnāt want to have to deal with the fact that this is, in fact, VERY REAL. but uh, hey, it is? and its going to kill so many fucking people? people really enjoy distancing themselves from politics and saying this shit doesnt matter but like more than half of my friends suffer from at least one condition on that list. to read my own conditions on there just made my heart sink. it like hurts how hard i wanted this to be fake. but itās real. itās so real and iām so scared.
It it helps, itās not law yet. The House passed it, but the Senate has to pass it too for it to be law, and from what I hear, the Senate isnāt eager to do so.
Now is the time to be calling Senators and sending emails and demanding they donāt pass this, to protest, to raise hell. Itās not entirely hopeless yet.
But yes, itās sickening. The fact that anyone could ever think this is okay is beyond disgusting. I couldnāt begin to express how horrible this is.
There are tons of people in my family who could be hurt by this. I could be hurt by this. I have tons of those conditions listed.
And Iām terrified.
But donāt panic yet. The Senate hasnāt voted. We have time.
So if you can, take action. And if you canāt, then try to stay strong until we know what the Senate does.
And if anyone needs someone to talk to, Iām here.
This bill is misogynistic, ableist, fatphobic, and classist. It is unacceptable and we canāt stand for it.

Okay folks. May 4th and Wear Glitter For Carrie Fisher is coming up. Whatever you do DO NOT PUT CRAFT GLITTER ON YOUR FACE/NEAR YOUR EYES. Itās cheap, yes, but craft glitter can scratch your corneas. Itās all fun and games until someone loses an eye from infection.
Use cosmetic glitter instead. Itās smaller and is made round instead of hexagonal, giving it a smaller chance of scratching your eyes if it gets in. Hereās a tutorial that explains the difference between craft and cosmetic glitter, and how to best apply cosmetic glitter. You can buy things glittery things specially designed for your face and body body from Lush, NYX, Sephora, and Ben Nye, just to name a few.
Space mom would want you to be safe. Go forth and wear glitter (safely)!
Please guys. Glitter eye makeup is really cheap, and will stick to your whole face.
Every year I diagnose at least one cat with renal failure due to lily poisoning. If you have cats please donāt have lilies.
Right now, on Twitter, William Shatner is aggressively blocking autistics and autistic allies who try and politely explain why Autism Speaks is bad.
In other words, right now, YOU TOO can get yourself blocked by none other than William Shatner!
Support an autistic, get yourself blocked! Tweet @WilliamShatner today!
No. Really. This is happening. Right now. On Twitter.
This blog will ALWAYS be a safe place, but this is important. I will not post or reblog anything different than I do every day.
Hey there!Ā
Are you an American? Do you have a sec to stand up for the millions of poor people, disabled people, people with pre-existing conditions and freelancers who rely on the ACA to keep them, yāknow, not-broke and not-dead? (Hi!)
Do you live in Alaska, Arizona, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Nevada, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Tennessee or West Virginia?
Congrats: you have a Republican Senator who has publicly expressed some concern about repealing the ACA without a replacement plan! If you havenāt already, this is your reminder to give their offices a call and help them make up their minds!

Sample call script:Ā āMy name is [YOUR NAME]. Iām a constituent calling to thank [YOUR SENATORāS NAME] for having the integrity and foresight to see how disastrous it would be to [YOUR STATE] and to the rest of America if Congress votes to repeal the ACA without first agreeing on a solid replacement plan. Not only would it jeopardize the health and economic security of millions of Americans, it would also place a tremendous financial strain on our hospitals and our entire healthcare system, costing potentially hundreds of thousands of jobs. As you know, in [YOUR STATE], we [SOMETHING PERSONAL ABOUT HEALTH CONCERNS SPECIFIC TO YOUR STATE; YOU MIGHT WANNA DO A 30-SECOND GOOGLE. IF NOTHING ELSE SURFACES, JUST SAY YOUR STATE BELIEVES IN SOME POSITIVE CHARACTER TRAIT THAT IS ASSOCIATED WITH KEEPING HEALTHCARE AFFORDABLE FOR AMERICANS, LIKEĀ āLOOKING OUT FOR YOUR NEIGHBORā OR SOMETHING.] As a voter, this is a vital issue to me, and I will be paying close attention to how [SENATORāS NAME] votes.ā
Call today if you havenāt already, and bug your local friends/family to call, too!
We only need to flip three senators, so itās not impossible. Do this before this Friday, the 27th.
Iām sorry to ask this of youāI know thereās a lot of these things going around right nowābut I depend on the ACA for my healthcare and Iām pretty damn terrified.
Vote šš¼ in šš¼ the šš¼ 2018 šš¼ Midterm šš¼ Elections šš¼
SERIOUSLY
If you vote in Democrats, theyāll be able to block Trumpās policies
Itās not just that theyāll be able to block Drumpfās policies for the (hopefully only) remaining two years: the entire House of Representatives is up for re-election in 2018. Whoever wins the House in 2018 will still control it in 2020, when we have our next census. This means we voting districts will get to be redrawn and if Republicans retain control of the House in 2020, they will make gerrymandering even worse than it is now, which already favors them.
But the odds are severely in favor of Republicans for 2018. The election is ridiculously lopsided: 23 Democrat seats and both (there are only 2) Independent seats (who Caucus with Dems) will be up for the taking compared to only 8 Republican seats. Not to mention midterm election turnout is always far less than POTUS elections and Republicans consistently turn out for midterms while non-Republicans fail to show up worse than they normally do.
It gets worse. This is the Senate race in 2018:
Arizona - Currently Republican
California - Currently Democrat
Connecticut - Currently Democrat
Delaware - Currently Democrat
Florida - Currently Democrat
Hawaii - Currently Democrat
Indiana - Currently Democrat
Maine - Currently Independent
Maryland - Currently Democrat
Massachusetts - Currently Democrat
Michigan - Currently Democrat
Minnesota - Currently Democrat
Mississippi - Currently Republican
Missouri - Currently Democrat
Montana - Currently Democrat
Nebraska - Currently Republican
Nevada - Currently Republican
New Jersey - Currently Democrat
New Mexico - Currently Democrat
New York - Currently Democrat
North Dakota - Currently Democrat
Ohio - Currently Democrat
Pennsylvania - Currently Democrat
Rhode Island - Currently Democrat
Tennessee - Currently Republican
Texas - Currently Republican
Utah - Currently Republican
Vermont - Currently Independent
Virginia - Currently Democrat
Washington - Currently Democrat
West Virginia - Currently Democrat
Wisconsin - Currently Democrat
Wyoming - Currently Republican
All of the states in bold were awarded to Drumpf, 11 of which are currently held by Democrats. Republicans hold a 52 seat majority right now. If they can maintain the 8 seats they have to defend, they only need 8 Democrat and/or Independent seats to have a 60 seat supermajority and the power to pass basically anything they want under Trump for two years.
If you think itās catastrophic now (and it is), imagine Drumpf and the Republicans with a 60 seat supermajority for two years plus a Republican House with the power to redistrict in 2020.
And that is why organizing now is critical. Getting people to run against every GOP House Member and tying every action by Trump to them. Make the 2018 elections ALL ABOUT TRUMP. This is also about taking back Governorās Mansions.Ā
It is NOT impossible, but it requires effort. 2018 elections efforts SHOULD ALREADY BE UNDERWAY!
@ all my american followers
