playing through cyberpunk 2077 for basically the first time. very cool that they added so many guns despite the gunplay feeling so terrible. actually a great way to filter out casual players. the game is straight up telling you it will only be fun if you branch out and use the other wacky shit it offers. very brilliant and very brave of them!

haven't beaten it yet but man atsu and jubei's sibling dynamic in ghost of yotei is really hitting home. it's tragic to be in a situation where you have to effectively re-meet your sibling after so long apart, but the uncanny realization that the love you two had for each other never went away and kept you both going without you even realizing is such a specific feeling that I didnt think I was ever going to feel in any piece of media. what a wave of emotions I've just felt.

I'm a huge halo fan. halo: reach got me into video games and since then I have beaten all of the mainline games multiple times over and have read a good chunk of the books and have studied up on the extended universe. I love this franchise to death and am a diehard fan. it's because of this experience with the franchise that I'm confident in saying it has perhaps the dumbest fucking fanbase ever.

expedition 33 is maybe the best binary-choice-based ending I've ever seen in a video game. so many of those kinds of endings just do not work for so many reasons. cannot remember the last time a game has presented me with a binary choice at the end and I was legitimately stumped on both how I felt and what would make sense thematically. kinda makes both endings perfect in my eyes. what a fucking game.

my headcanon for why silksong is harder than the first hollow knight is not because team cherry wanted to make a more challenging experience but rather that ghost is simply that strong and would handle pharloom just as easily as hallownest
