This Simple Rustic Pear Galette is an easy and elegant dessert that showcases the natural sweetness of ripe pears. With minimal effort, you can create a beautiful tart with flaky puff pastry and spiced pear filling.
Ingredients: 1 sheet of frozen puff pastry, thawed. 3 ripe pears, thinly sliced. 1/4 cup granulated sugar. 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour. 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon. 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg. 1 tablespoon lemon juice. 1 egg, beaten for egg wash. 1 tablespoon turbinado sugar for sprinkling.
Instructions: Preheat the oven to 400F 200C and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Roll out the thawed puff pastry on the prepared baking sheet. In a bowl, toss the sliced pears with granulated sugar, flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, and lemon juice until evenly coated. Arrange the pear slices in the center of the puff pastry, leaving a border around the edges. Fold the edges of the pastry over the pear filling, pleating as needed to create a rustic galette shape. Brush the edges of the pastry with beaten egg and sprinkle with turbinado sugar. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the pastry is golden brown and the pears are tender. Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving. Enjoy your delicious Simple Rustic Pear Galette!
