Hope this isn't a bother, but I just wanted to say that your post on romantic consent really spoke to me and helped me recontextualize a lot of the stuff that happened to me in college. I'm not necessarily aromantic (maybe like, gray-romantic) but I've had some really insane experiences with other people in queer spaces feeling entitled to dating me (just because we're both queer) and going out of their way to actively ruin my life or even doxx me when I said I wasn't interested. That pattern of amatonormativity has followed me for years. Romantic consent is no joke, and there needs to be way more education and awareness for it.

absolutely not a bother at all! romantic consent is something that's an issue in society in general, it doesn't only hurt aromantics, it hurts everybody. us aromantics might just be more equipped to notice it.

Aro culture is being told in an affectionate (if patronising) way that you'll "understand when you're older" and "want it when you're older" as a kid that turns into pressure and pathologisation when you do not, in fact, understand and want it when you're older
