i dont think whites understand how being white makes literally everything easier.

being gay is easier when youre white.

being disabled is easier when youre white.

being a woman is easier when youre white.

being autistic is easier when youre white.

oppression is eased when you are white, as you get extra privileges, and your whiteness is seen as a positive characteristic that in some ways counter-balances your other forms of being a minority. whiteness controls everything.

you are automatically way more innocent in your own oppression as a gay, trans, disabled person because of your whiteness.

Many places are removing masking requirements. And I’m here to ask, if you are young and able-bodied, please keep wearing a mask anyways. We’ve known for two years that masks protect others more than they protect yourself, and that masks work when most people are wearing them. If only at-risk individuals are masking, they’re more at risk.

Protect others. Help disabled people exist safely in public. Wear a mask.

Ya know, here’s the thing: I’m probably going to continue wearing my masks forever. Not as in “every day for the rest of my life I’m wearing a mask”, but I think it’s time to follow the asian countries: if you’re not feeling great but still have to go out in public, slap a mask on you so you’re not spewing whatever you have to every citizen within a 3 foot radius of you.

I have a lot of super cute cloth masks. I can treat them as accessories. Match them to my outfit and feel like a conscientious human. It’s a win/win.
