" I knew I was attracted to women from a young age, I just never thought anything of it..  It just felt so natural to me. I remember my first crush was a girl I met at camp, named Z. She was beautiful, wild, identified as queer and I was head over heals instantly. She was so confident and comfortable it just seemed effortless to be around her. We kissed beneath the stars one night in the rain and I'll never forget the way she felt against me.

It took me a few years after Z to start dating women. I actually dated mostly guys in high school and college. Just about a year ago, I met someone who really helped me explore myself and my sexuality. As hard as it was to face myself and be honest to who I was, I am so thankful for who I have become. Identifying as queer has changed my life and I'm so thankful for everyone who helped me get here! xx B"

"Coming Out" Edition (click photo for full story)

The highlight of my "coming out" was that it wasn't a stop the presses kind of surprise, or something I even needed to announce in fact. My biggest opponent was myself, I initially thought 22 was too late to start a life I could be proud of. November 12th, 2012 I started the medical side of transitioning with my first shot of testosterone. Exactly two years later I got top surgery! Hormones and surgery haven't solved all of my problems, not did I expect them to. But they have definitely helped me on the road to self discovery. Navigating the world is a lot easier even you learn the power of self love.
