For your lunch hour
One tip I’m surprised more people aren’t aware of is that you can freeze the bananas and use them in place of ice/dairy or whatever else you use for creamers/ a base. And bananas are pretty sweet too so you can cut down on more of the added sugar.

Starting today, I am going to follow this 30 Day HIIT Challenge and this meal plan. With slight variations because I don’t eat fish. I’ll mix it in with my marathon training and my pole dance classes. Best of luck to me, I guess. :D
i’d like to give special thanks to Neila Rey for giving me proper motivation to be healthy this summer
Day Two:
Day one actually went okay. I ended up eating 1660 calories, but compared to the crazy bingefest I had been on that is so much better.
The scale this morning was good to me: 203 lbs. I know that it's probably all water weight and not really -5 pounds in a day, but it is still nice to see a smaller number.
Today I am worried. I am hanging out with my friend, who happens to also be causing me major stress because our friendship is on the rocks at the moment. My goals is to stick to my calorie limit, and not drink any alcohol. I can do it! I am just nervous that without me binge eating I will totally lose my mind in her presence. It is a lot easier to keep the things you're mad at to yourself when you are constantly stuffing your face.
Not today. Today I stick to my diet. Today I don't succumb to peer pressure. Today I take a step towards 140 (and those kickin' jeans I want to fit into again).
From Fitblr to Fatblr: A Reality Check
In my time away I have descended back into consuming massive amounts of calories. As delicious as it all was, and as comforting as it might have been in the moment, I think it is high time I move on from the unhealthy lifestyle I had fostered for the past few years.
Yes. I would love to have hours of energy to spend on dance and such, but the truth is... 207.8 lbs is a lot to lug around.
Yes, that is right... 207.8 lbs. I finally mucked up the courage to step on the scale this morning. I broke into the 200s during my time hiding from the scale and here I am now, a whole lot of woman.
I don't want to be like this though. I mean, I love who I am. I have a personality that I am proud of. I am still adorable. My eyes are still that gorgeous blue/green/grey. I still have a waist miraculously. My problem is the stress being overweight causes on my body. It prevents me from going out and doing stuff! It keeps me from feeling confident about my body. It is cutting the years off my life! But most importantly, I can barely fit my ankles into my old favorite pants (slight exaggeration, but still).
So, I am back to calorie counting. Day one again, as it seems. Worried/nervous/scared that I will not make it to my goals. But there is something else, something in my gut... this is the time. This is the year. This is the marathon towards 140 lbs. This is the marathon towards those adorable skinny True Religion jeans that make my butt/legs look fantastic. This is the journey towards the treasure trove of cut clothes that I haven't had the heart to throw out yet.
I can do this. (Ahh I'm freaking out! Help me stay motivated if you can! Ahh!)
Yoga for the splits !
A non-exhaustive list of poses for hips and hamstrings.
My legs feel better just looking at this.
Totally inspiring.
Recall to Action
So, I've been such a bad girl. Haven't done a single push up in weeks, been eating unhealthy and in excess amounts. Basically, I've been up to no good.
Break time is over.
It's less than a year until my sister's wedding (about 337 days/48 weeks), and the last time I went to the doctor they said my blood pressure was getting too high.
So... Recall to action time.
Not only do I need to start working out again, no matter how nice it is to just sleep in all day and play video games, but I also need to stop with my immature eating habits.
So, confession time... I eat like garbage. Processed foods. Processed foods everywhere. Not to mention the fact that I eat no veggies and next to no fruits (I don't eat meat either, but I don't want to).
I hate it; it's embarrassing. I want to get better, but I don't know how. Twenty-two years of eating like this is a hard habit to break. People don't seem to understand that.
So, here's where you come in. Yes you, nameless faceless internet dweller. My friends and family haven't listened to my pleas for assistance, but maybe you will.
This is a call for help!
If you can send me any helpful advice or delicious vegetarian recipes I would greatly appreciate it.
It's time for me to get healthy, like truly healthy. I need to do this. I'm freaking out, and no one in my life seems to understand what I'm going through and what I'll have to go through to complete this transformation.
Thank you for reading!
LAZY BONES
I feel like there can be no progress without setbacks. And the most recent setback was the month off I took.
I felt like a horrible person for it, too. A total failure. But then I got to thinking...
I have maintained my weight loss pretty well for putting the whole thing on the back burner. And, I hadn't completely forgotten everything I learned from my first leg of the journey to 185. If anything, I retained everything I learned about how my body works.
Here's the current issue: how do I get back into working out regularly again?
I know I have to start slow again, but where exactly do I start?
Before I did push ups, sit ups, and squats, but the whole time I felt bogged down. I didn't feel great about it all, and I got bored fast.
Hopefully I can figure something out and get to the next goal. Only 7 more pounds and I'll get myself a new outfit. Maxi-skirt here I come!
Well I know where I’m buying my new workout gear from…
Oh goodness. The “Hooray Sports” and Netflix one (at the link) are amazing. I need them.
I feel like I need the Lumpy Space Princess one... NEEEEEDDDDD.
For when I want my abs to hurt for the next fifty years.
Time for some truth.
So, when I was young I used to be very angry. I'd lash out and everything; it was not a pleasant thing to behold.
When I got older the problem was still there, only I kept busy so it wasn't all too obvious.
Then I stopped being so busy, so the anger and the anxiety started to show. I wasn't prepared for it, so I did what any college student would do... smoke way too much weed.
This pacified me, but there was anger under all of that drug-induced calm. I became a jerk towards my family. A complete asshole.
So I got clean, with their help and the help of some much needed therapy. The anxiety is totally deal-with-able, but the anger is still something I don't know how to cope with.
It isn't constant, but lately it has become more and more frequent. I don't want to be angry, so I eat it away.
I eat it away and I can't progress through my weight loss, so I just get more angry.
I'm so tired of it, I just want an escape or a break but there isn't one. Video games don't help anymore, TV doesn't help anymore. I'd write but I just get down on myself or become gridlocked.
I know I should work out, but I am worried that it will become a crutch, and I want to work out for me, not to keep myself passive.
I just want to feel good again.
If anyone reads this and has any advice to give me, I'd greatly appreciate it.
MAJOR VICTORY TODAY.
So.
Thursdays I bike to work. (At least this July.)
I used to bike as my sole mode of transportation when I was saving up to get my car fixed, and for those three months I was in heaven. Never had I or have I ever been in such great shape.
I digress.
Lucky me, today's high is under the hundreds! Only 97 degrees supposedly. Coolest it has been all week!
Besides having a bike debacle (my road bike's tires are kaput), the ride was amazing.
I can feel that my legs have gotten stronger, and I love it!!!!
Plus, my knees just look better (and I haven't had a sprain in a while, so they must be getting stronger too).
SO LET ME JUST TAKE THIS ONE SECOND AND COMPLETELY ENDORSE BIKE COMMUTING...
So, it might be a little dangerous due to disrespectful drivers, but if you are alert, wear colors that make you stand out during the day (and lights at night), and follow the rules of the road (check your local laws before riding) it should be fine.
Not to mention biking is great "me-time." And who can't use more "me-time."
So hooray for a successful morning!
And hooray for any other bike commuters out in the verse.
And to all of you fitness buffs, get on two wheels and hit the streets.
